I mean let's be real here, it was kind of dicky of Rockstar to not do anything for their vice city anniversary, a simple few word post could've been enough acknowledging the date.

They acknowledged Max Payne 3 but not Vice City and IV?

You know what? GTA IV’s 10th anniversary dropped on Sunday back in 2018, and they decided to announce RDR2 official trailer #3 on April 30, a day after the anniversary. I mean, wasn’t that a kind of surprise for the fans?

It's true that even apart from all the euphoria surrounding Gta6 it's still strange not to say anything about the 20 years of GTA VICE CITY. As if there is nothing at all, like it was a normal day like GTA Vice city was just another game. Weird.

Idk if I would get fired for it being the social media manager, but even without any saying I would've just tweeted a simple tweet with a few words remembering the game that made us feel like life was sunny all the time.

I said earlier that they probably acknowledged not only gta 3 but vice city and san andreas as it was of the same trilogy, with the "remastered" edition back then, they won't bother with gta san andreas 20th anniversary either when that comes.

It's 2022, Rockstar Games is using Twitter Media Studio, it allows you to automatically schedule Tweets

They basically could schedule it one week ago to be posted today at 29th at 3 PM British Time and it would be posted on that date without any human interaction whatsoever.

News just in: Company that often doesn't publicly celebrate anniversaries of their games doesn't celebrate the anniversary of one of their games

 

The fact *we* know VI is set in Vice City means jack sh*t, we weren't meant to know that yet and if we didn't know it then no one would be bringing that up.

Of course it's not a big deal. At least it's not that big of a deal like billion dollar company not acknowledging the games that made them. No I'm not ranting I'm just saying it was kind of dicky, all good, but dicky nontheless.

Doesn't mean anyone there actually thought to do that though. Maybe they honestly don't care, maybe they simply forgot to set one up, or maybe they have bigger plans in mind that are keeping them busy. Who knows. What I do know is that there's no point in getting up in arms over it.

They would remember GTA Vice City's anniversary and still wouldn't say a single word about GTA 6, in other words people would be mad just the same but for another reason, sometimes I kinda understand Rockstar's silence.

The one game that they will mention in its 10th anniversary is GTA V, absolutely. There's no way they will ignore that one next year, it made them so much money. I think the rest were acknowledged with mobile and the trilogy de edition, except IV.

I mean they actually do publicly celebrate big anniversaries like 10th or 20th but they sometimes do it and sometimes not, it's pure RnG without any actual logic standing behind it but still, they did celebrate most of big anniversaries.

GTA IV was updated on steam with the full complete edition and they had added achievements which I really loved, so it was something I guess? And they made it backwards compatible or whatever?

No one at this point is even saying anything about VI, just about VC anniversary. Just a bit weird not to do anything when one of your franchise's games are celebrating colossal 20 years of existing. All good @Edward RDRIII

I've been saying this to my friends but I really think Rockstar is ultra salty about the leaks to the point that their message following the incident was subtly passive aggressive. The following move to block all comments on their social media pages for a while is another indication of their overall irritation with the matter, that I wouldn't be surprised if they indeed had something they wanted to post for this week but decided against it last minute because of how pissed off they are with things.

Sure thing is that they are not an Indie studio so the bolded part is actually less possible that GTA VI release in 2023.

This time they didn't, get over it, worry about more meaningful things in your life, stop wasting your time worrying about tweets and such useless things bro, that's all I'm saying, they didn't even acknowledge RDR2's anniversary, their most recent game, and I just don't care unless it's something related to GTA 6.

Rockstar never really had anything planned to show. They will show it when they are ready to.

If nothing happens within a week, you should leave this thread and wait for the next Take Two conference call which is in February.
