This October marks 4 years since RDR2 released. Some people need to stop thinking it's not going to happen. We're now actually in the territory where, yes, it is actually soon™.

Only 3 months until an announcement is likely to be made. And who the hell knows what might happen in those 3 months, too.

Was there ever any doubt that Rockstar would release unfinished games full of bugs? No because they never did in the past and never will.

(This GTA Trilogy DE is no Rockstar product for me since it has been 100% outsourced to some mobile developer - so that doesn't count!)

Oh I sure hope that Bully 2 is next from them after GTA VI and whenever there should be a new Red Dead game it hopefully only has a multiplayer component as had the first one and not Red Dead Online which ended up being a disaster!

These things are planned years in advance. The sensible thing to do would be to spitball ideas for RDR3 as you're wrapping up RDR2. We already know they were at least thinking of ideas for GTA VI is 2012.

 

Besides, some of the first GTA VI leaks go back to 2017, wit Tim Neff, for example. Over a year before RDR2 even released. Albeit before it was delayed from Spring 2018. It makes sense that RDR3 would be in pre-production now.

You know thinking about it, it makes sense that their main new game after VI has by now already started pre production, the guys at the top of R* have finished the script for VI a long time ago by now, and the only thing they probably still do for VI now is oversee how the project is going etc I guess -> that would leave a lot of time for other projects, and gives opportunities for them to go out and gather inspiration for a new title.

i'm with: "october/november is very likely, but its not impossible that nothing will happen"

we dont have business insides and we dont know how far their development really is

for us fans its obvious that we get sth in 2022, but there is still a chance we dont get the long-awaited announcement/trailer

 

imo many people forgett one crucial thing:

the next gta game will most likely release for ps5 and series x|s only, so before you release a triple-a game like gta you want to make sure you can sell as many units as possible

atm 35million units of the newest consoles are sold, and we all know because of obvious reasons how slowly the consoles can be produced/shipped/sold and it wont get better too soon

R* sold 16million units of gta 5 in the first 5 days, im sure these numbers will be even higher with the next gta game

so R* can take their time, wait for more consoles getting sold, and then release their next game

announcement in 2023 and release in 2025 could be very well on the table, but i agree, 2022 and 2024 seem more likely (hopefully lol)

tbh, i wouldn't be surprised if some of this is for the rockstar launcher, at some point they must have gone "yeah, we can't really release gta 6 on something that looks like it came from powerpoint"

It's pretty explicit about it being for games as well. Some AAA games have impressive accessibility options nowadays, e.g. TLOU 2, so it just makes sense R* follows suit.
