GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 7] - The one with the announcement

I don’t know if you were around during the lead up to IV and V, but “soon” has no definition at all for Rockstar. “Soon” isn’t a guarantee for anything, they throw that word around willy-nilly and it always causes a fuss. “Soon” means as much as Egyptian hieroglyphs means to Helen Keller

Do not lose hope gentlemen. 100% teaser on Sunday/Monday, logo and announcement on Tuesday, trailer on Saturday

At this point my brain says that it's not gonna happen, so I order to not have any expectations. Obviously I’d love to be proven wrong by Rockstar.

Yeah, but we literally have 9 more days until the end of October.

He’s an a*****e, let’s be honest. He thinks he knows everything, but when he’s proven wrong, he acts like a crying b***h.

Rockstar already confirmed that the moderate size rumor he was spreading is wrong by confirming that GTA 6 will be their most ambitious game ever, just because he got a few things right he wants us to believe in everything he says, not to mention the changes in Rockstar's sense of humor that we cleary saw it's wrong on the leaked footage when the guy says "bite my crank" or something similar.

That’s also true, but they’ve never waited more than a year to drop some info. I agree that "soon" usually means many months of drought, but it’s never happened that it was more than a year.

I still think the whole "moderate sized release" was a case of a misunderstanding. His full comment was essentially that it would be a moderate size release relative the original plan which was the original Project Americas idea, but the game had something of a "reboot" and was now smaller in scale, however he also said it would be a large game by R* standards.

To me it sounds like the original idea pre-2018/2019 was that the game would be absolutely gigantic. This wasn't practical, so come the time when they entered full production the game was scaled down to something more realistically achievable. This likely meant retooling of some things, like story, but yea, I think there's been a case of chinese whispers so to speak resulting in some confusion over what actually happened with the game.

That’s why I think he’s a hack. He likes to distort the reality and he spreads hate within the companies with his venomous articles.

He could've just said that the game would be smaller than originally planned but still would be Rockstar's biggest game, but of course he didn't say it like that to make people think it may be smaller than RDR2 or even GTA 5, which is absurd considering how long we've been waiting. I can smell the bullsh*t coming outta these people's mouths miles away.

He's one of the best journalists working in the industry today. He's very good at what he does.

He's also a bit of a wet fart at times, sure, but he also no doubt gets abuse thrown at him all the time so I can somewhat understand his behaviour sometimes though I think he should just avoid biting back.

In his insider pieces - which don't really revolve around leaks, they're usually side bits of his articles - are him working with what he's been told, which I would imagine (and hope) he corroborates with multiple people before he publishes the article. That being said I do think there's an element of him being used by individual developers to basically air the dirty laundry which is being influenced by some type of personal issue, and not a company wide issue.

The thing is that he’s never really transparent when it comes to reporting what is the actual state of a game and when somebody makes him notice that he’s wrong, he gets defensive and aggressive at the same time.

Exactly. That’s what’s utterly disrespectful imo. Cause, even when it’s clear that he’s wrong, he still claims to be in the right.

It wasn't worded well, no, but people running wild with things is not his problem really.

He typically doesn't go into vast amounts of detail on games pre-announcement. I have no doubt he could right now name a load of unnannounced games but Schreier is notoriously pro-developer and refrains from doing so to avoid spoiling reveals, as developers are on record not liking leaks.

I would imagine the only reason he even put some VI details in there was to give the article a bit of context and nothing more.

The game will still be huge, but I don't think its going to be as gigantic as something like RDR 2, at least initially

I think it will be more physics driven, animation driven as we seen from the leaks and a focus on interiors.... I think they also talked about how R* was going to add and expand the game post release content

Which makes sense, especially since they turned around their culture in trying to reduce crunch as much as possible

Ok but there’s no need to be so arrogant towards someone who’s simply asking for clarification.

The snippets we have of the map so far already put the map bigger than GTA V's to the idea the game won't be massive is... odd. We also have hints of world events, NPC interactions and more that heavily imply there's quite a bit going on in the open world to do and see.

Rockstar are avoiding crunch, yes, but they're also bigger than they've ever been in terms of dev count.

Its map is bigger than GTA 5's already, which also means it's bigger than RDR2's since they're about the same size. GTA 6's story may not be as big as RDR2's, but the amount of content definitely will be by a country mile.

I just don’t think it’s gonna match the sheer insanity of RDR 2 at launch but could reach that level through regular dlc updates  edit: so it’s confirmed that the map is indeed bigger than V’s well then maybe it will be?

I don't disagree, I think he should avoiding biting, but I do sympathise with him in ways because I know he gets subjected to a large amounts of abuse, while also just being poked on a daily basis asking for information when his history tells us that is not how he operates. He's a journalist, his career doesn't revolve around leaks like say Tom Henderson, he reports on things when he feels it's right, otherwise he doesn't.

hoping it's not something like sims 4, most of the game locked behind 200$ dlc paywall :bruh:

But Jason, don’t you think it was weird he leaked that there was going to be a Latina female protagonist that’s part of a Bonnie and Clyde inspired duo. Seems like that’s something Rockstar wouldn’t of wanted since they tend to keep their protagonists a secret until the first launch trailer and are not  formally introduced  until later

Henderson's career revolves around leaks huh? What a reliable career I must say.

Not really, no, cause again while he's a reporter he does sprinkle in some stuff like that, often to give context or whatever.

Truth be told I don't much care, people getting hate boners for the man are just a wee bit embarrassing. I've seen posts here where people come in and gloat about getting blocked by him, and then they say what they tweeted at him to get blocked, and I want to ban them cause they're f*cking stupid.

He'll give more information if he wants to, until then leave the man alone lol.
