If they want to release the game in march 2024 before the fiscal year end, then I’m assuming February/ march 2023 announcement?

I'm sure they could have even make a trailer last year, if that wanted to. But simply put, they are not ready to show it. The leaked footage was not meant to be shown to the public. They game is still ways off, and they want to show the graphics in a better manner this time unlike GTA 5. One of the top expectations about GTA 6 amongst fans is the graphics. GTA is the most normiest of the normie franchises. The normies won't understand that game footage and graphics change throughout the 2 years. They want the graphics to be a bit more up to date, before showcasing it. They want to make it look like a true-next gen game in their trailer, not like a GTA 4 mod like the GTA 5 initial trailer was. They want to blow away, not just gamers, but casuals as well.

March 2024 is being very optimistic, to not say unrealistic, the earliest realistic date I can think of is october 2024.

They can always show the graphics improvements on the next trailers, just like any other game they released before.

The video with the skirt shows the graphics is complete. With hard work in 2023, it will be very polished. So, march 2024 isn’t unrealistic.

The skirt physics are incomplete though lol, if it don't require a entire year to fix.

Considering a lot (or all) of the leaked videos are showing bugs or technical issues, I dunno about that lol.

 

No aspect of the game is "complete" 1-2 years from release.

I didn't even ask for a trailer this year, it was enough for me with a tweet with a hashtag and the logo in some Vice City themed background, nothing more.

Judging by the camera's angle, Rockstar's dev was testing that with a single hand.

I think people will be happy even with just a twitter background change and nothing else, not even the logo for at least until  spring 2023, after that it is back on the usual schedule asking for a trailer .

For a mainstream franchise like GTA, it's basically a movie trailer. The first impression is quite crucial for this. It's more important than ever now.

Well considering those videos were probably stolen by some bug fixing devs (I don’t know the proper name lol)  - the PDF validates my point - it’s kinda obvious that there were a lot of bugs in them.

I don't think that's really possible with a game like GTA VI. Also they started the tease early with the "next entry in the grand theft auto series" 2-3 times, newswire and twitter. So they going for the long route to build even more hype?

 

 

btw   before I got banned from reddit was telling a few people there that only rockstar confirms not random text leak "jason schreier" just because is "trusted source", doesn't mean it is 100% fact. Got downvoted everytime I said it so much.

That city part, textures, models, they did look finished but there's many other stuff. Missions, bug fix, not all of the map might be ready, interiors, more animations, more variety with npc models, removing and cleaning up from placeholders, voice acting for story might not even be finished.

 

Now if that video is from 2019/2020 and only recorded recently, then some of those things I said above or others might be done.

Once we do get that minute long, vague first trailer we’re gonna have a good 12 month period of silence and info drought. That beautiful high and rush of devouring that trailer will give way to madness soon enough and we’ll all be back here making wild guesses to the next trailer drop. This is the GTAForums default state: desperation, conspiracies, T2 conference calls, predictions, pinned tweets, anniversaries…and it’s amazing. Strapping myself in for another 3 years of on-and-off nonsense while we simultaneously praise and hate Rockstar and ourselves like an abusive relationship.
