So here's the thing, I was away for a few hours, I came to the last page which had comments that makes me think there was a war in here recently.

 

Lemme guess, everyone got a little too excited around 3pm and 4pm when nothing happened?

If there was anything special about that UFO, it would have been datamined a long time ago, they can't hide stuff once they hit the public builds.

i really thought like they will move, or we see one landing and taking off in fort zancudo and maybe we will have to chase it? stuff like that aside from thinking something with VI (which again was another thought of what they could do if we get abducted by them not that I 1000% believed it)

Not gatekeeping at all. Just trying to help people not set themselves up for disappointment based on very little. Everyone is free to speculate as they please. But so many get all upset and disappointed when something they built up in their minds doesn't happen. Just trying to speak from experience to help people.

Says who though? What if the makers of the game aren't satisfied? RDR2 went through a similar process where the devs made "demos" for the higher ups, and I am sure they were okay with what they made but the higher ups didn't like them, which made them redo it multiple times.

 

Whether we like it or not doesn't matter in this case if Rockstar isn't satisfied enough to showcase it.

 

They could literally be waiting for a better build of the game to be ready before they could showcase it, maybe financial reasons, there are many factors that play into this.

well then maybe GTA VI's Online the UFOs won't be standing still and we actually get to chase and fight aliens in freemode. Or there's a secret military base that does something with them

we have futuristic vehicles to chase them don't we

They may actually want to release it within a year of announcing it, this time, too. And also this time, they aren't under any real pressure to get it out, with how well GTA V and Online is doing. So Rockstar kinda' do have all the time in the world to get GTA VI out.

Lmao even if they announce it now it will be 2 more years of shark cards considering it always takes them 2 years from announcement to release.

Yeah, there's that too, I am sure they are factoring GTAOnline's continuous success into the whole picture.

 

This one might be a litle bit of a reach but they could be ready and have the whole thing planned out but are dragging the whole process (reveal+release) because of the console shortage, I don't think the game is coming to last gen consoles and maybe they still think the market need to improve a little more and be a big bigger before they release the game.

 

 

There are many factors that play into this, I personally think they have a creative vision and target for the game they haven't met yet and that's why they aren't showing anything.

I do have a personal hope that it's still this year because although the mentions of the game's existence were mostly for hiring purposes (and in some people's opinions PR purposes), I think it's a bit weird to keep mentioning the next game without planning to show it within the year or something, GTA V was shown in an earlier, rougher state and it didn't even mention platforms at release so I don't think console shortages etc play into this - for release, perhaps, but not a reveal.

Cyberpunk's reveal isn't comparable because they straight up went in with a CGI trailer in 2013, where 0% of the game existed, just some plan on a whiteboard and a production from a CGI company.

 

It's just the same old stuff, and we'll be here for the ride until the actual thing happens. Next week we'll be here again on VC's anniversary, unless of course R* does decide to announce it this month but on a completely random date no one is expecting  There is once again no need to get into arguments about this, you can believe (or not) whatever you want, just don't be too mad at either side. It not happening today doesn't disprove (or prove) anything.

inb4 Rockstar has a clear-cut marketing plan that has been submitted a month ago for the entire period up until release, including "unforseen" delays, regardless of any meaningful dates for the GTA franchise.

It's harmless fun, if people take it too seriously then it's on them. People acting like "srs business" spoilsports are just as annoying as those trying to push some sort of theory (or fake leaks) onto everyone.

I dont know why everyone acts like today was so terrible and disappointing. For me all this speculating and hype is lots of fun and once the real announcement comes everyone will have forgotten how "disappointed" they were.
