people will always continue saying whatever days. Next time it will be december, then spring 2023, then fall 2023, it won't stop. We had announcements happen those months in the past from rockstar. GTA VI is anticipated by way too many people it doesn't matter if they wanna surprise us or not.

Plus this is the internet afterall so people that may have bought into it before end up checking out, then you have new fresh people coming in who have no clue buying into it. End, repeat. The cycle of life goes on

It's something I've been wondering about too. I'm from the UK and beyond the 80s Scarface/Miami Vice/Vice City backdrop (which I was never hugely into) I don't know much about Miami compared to LA or New York. I hope I can see something in VI's Vice City that separates it from the other much more iconic coastal sunny location we've had in for the past nine years - otherwise I feel like I'm just gonna be wishing that we'd gone back to Liberty City.

I also think they're replacing the pink color scheme, i'm thinking something like orange and blue since Florida and the caribbean are mostly known for the beaches

If we get nothing now, 2023 will get  even crazier as people will think every month might be announcement/trailer. We know this game is the most anticipated one, rockstar knows, look what happens daily on twitter and elsewhere already. They simply cannot "surprise" us like past titles. But they can surprise us with the progress they made, this being first time seeing their project that is ready to be shown to the public. It will still be a surprise to me.

Yes thank you I was starting to think I'm the only one that doesn't want this to be 80's Miami Vice / Scarface / Outrun inspired game all over again. Every single fanmade logo I've seen on here looks practically the same, always retro styled and pink/light blue colored – I think (and hope) they'll go in a completely new direction

Rockstar has already acknowledged the game twice this year, even before the leaks happened. I don't think they would've done that if they truly wanted the announcement to be like dropping a nuke out of the blue. They just have to announce it properly. Plain and simple.

Sensibly, people should expect nothing tomorrow. And even IF they announced GTA VI tomorrow, the trailer most certainly wouldn't be released tomorrow. That always comes after.

Meanwhile its not just us in this forum but almost the entire internet (gaming) community waiting for the announcement on the specific dates (21st or 29th), peoples reaction will be wild i guess (no matter if positive or negative)

I hear ya. I for one actually can visualise GTA in many other cities other than the usual locations. I enjoy the TV show The Wire. And Baltimore I knew nothing of. The city itself is the star of the show. So, in that respect, I can no nothing of a city but I know Rockstar can make into a GTA city and I'll learn about and have fun seeing the city in films and TV shows. 

 

I can sell Baltimore as a second city in a game but heavily inspired by The Wire. I can sell Boston if it took inspiration from films like The Town, The Fighter, The Departed, Black Mass. There are some great films to look at to take inspiration. I know Rockstar don't have to take inspiration from films but I think most enjoy the film references. The list of films set in Miami isn't too compelling; Bad Boys, 2 Fast 2 Furious - kind of goofy GTA V-style films. If the tone is more serious, I'd like to see what kind of films or shows they might look to reference and/or be inspired by. 

 

Going from sunny coastal to sunny coastal wasn't my idea of something new and kind of hoped for a more dank grey east coast city. I'm definitely not hating on Miami either. I'm excited for it, I'm just trying to see the inspiration for it other than "Rockstar haven't done this city in HD" That's isn't inspiration, that's checklisting.

Judging by the leaks, I'd argue that in terms of aesthetics, no visual style whatsoever will be implemented, and they will just go for more or less pure realism, ripping off Miami as it is. It's very much akin to what they did with Los Santos in V. There too no particular style was utilized.
