Not really, but i do wish i could back in time before we had the Oppressor Mk2, Explosive rounds, Thermal jets etc. GTA online was way more simple years back. GTAO online freemode is a warzone basicly.

I miss the surprise and excitement of it.     Damn near every special vehicle having special icons takes away the fun of it.    I miss every player and every vehicle being a simple white dot.    Rolling down the street in your car, rounding a corner having no idea if the player around the bend is going to stick a tank cannon in your face, that sh*t was fun.

And honestly it'd be easier to catch MKII's by surprise if every special wasn't clearly marked and somebody on a broomstick had no idea what kind of fight they where flying towards.     But you know Rockstar, apparently they had to give the MKII every possible advantage it could get.

But yeah early GTAO was kinda more tactical in a way with people setting up ambushes and traps, you could tell if a person was in some type of aircraft just by how their dot ignored roads and flew over buildings.    But otherwise you never really knew what you was in for.     Now none of that works because you look on the map and go "Oh look a Avenger over there or a MKII flying around there.    I'm either going to go nowhere near those sides of the map or pop into passive mode before I get there."

It just took away so much excitement out of GTAO knowing what vehicle everybody is in and assuming what they are likely up to based on what they drive.

We need the return of players, no matter what they drive, only being shown as a nondescript white dot on the minimap.

This goes for people with cargo to.    Sure if a guy goes to make a sale, send out the alert that such and such is moving goods, but just don't tell other players where.  Imagine how much more exciting that would be that you and your friends are racing to drop off cargo before other players are able to search the map, hunt you down and destroy you.    Rather then how it is now where every other player knows immediately where you are and can likely even tell what building you set off from because of the god damn stupid special icon for special vehicles.

Man I hate that Rockstar started doing that. lol

DODI3OG

I started playing in 2013, right on launch day on my PS3. Played for a few days and it wasn't fun not knowing where to start grinding and you have a Rhino or two roaming around.

Came back in 2018 and it was just as bad, but with flying bikes instead of Rhinos and Lazers.

Sorta. I miss the feeling of the game being "boots-to-ground" but i think online got out of that weird, futuristic wartime phase it went through for 2 years there. There's more content to enjoy than ever right now. All you could do back then was Heists and buy cars. Pretty boring by today's standards.

I miss battling people in a less toxic manner and having a pistol fight.

Solid Scorpion

I miss the playing field being level.

Everyone low ranks.

Pistol and AR deathmatches, with the most powerful weapon being the rocket launcher. Which everyone was hesitant to use due to ammo costs and having to grind No Hey Bronka to afford a refill.

Then the billionaire era fell and we wound up on the slippery slope that lead us to ridiculous inflation, expensive toys and where we find ourselves now.

I'm hopeful this new update could pull us back to a more level playing field.

I'm very aware that it might be a case of rose tinted shades though.

There are things that have been added I do love though, Benny's, livery's and decals, ability to own aircraft, more garage space (that will never be enough).

Ah yes, still fondly have memories of not worrying about financial security.

If having everything in the game bores you, that's your problem. I have everything I want thanks to Mr. Rubio and I don't feel bored. In fact with more money, I feel free to do what I want without feeling that I'm wasting time, burning a hole in my wallet, should be making more money, etc.

crate drops for beer hats was the funnest period. before that, killing a modder with a 500 million bounty on them and then spending as much as i could until the money was taken away but my puchases were not. :)

...and the black Sentinel running you over when you respawned was funny too.

I always had to look for him.

GTAO on its own has always been an unbalanced pile of trash with questionable design elements, but I at least got some enjoyment out of it with a close circle of friends. Most have long moved on to bigger and better things so given that, I naturally look upon GTAO circa 2014 more favorably than I do now.

i miss the days of no mk2's or orbital cannon's, and no players killing you so they could raise their k/d and ruin the game for you.

thermal goggles need to be nerfed or removed from game, i hate getting sniped from an asshole tryhard who's about 2 or 3 city blocks away from me because they're using thermal goggles.

Oh, back in the PS3 days, it was hell!

So glad it cleaned up on PS4 (and PS5) since. I was all but out until PS4 showed better form to get rid. I couldn't trust it on PC because of that.

Better graphics, more flexible, fivem, all sound great. But my PTSD just couldn't shake that 'what if...' aspect of those that like to interfere or harass.

it wasn't always great on xbox 360 ether, sometimes when i would go from my apartment to my garage i would get blownup by a scriptkiddie.

and random explosions killing everyone in the lobby.

I think this discussion is kind of pointless.  Here is why. Sure, all things in life are best when they are new, fresh.   But that can never last forever.  If the game had very few DLC's and it was like it was when it was released, many of us would have uninstalled years ago and moved on to other games.  The other alternative is to keep adding new content which will inevitably "change" the game.  If one is going to discuss this at all then, it is really a question of, "do you like the direction the game has gone," something that has been discussed here ad nauseam.  That newness feeling doesn't last with anything, just the way it is my friend...
