Mister Pink
Skate is being rebooted. You can sign up for testing here skate. - The Award-Winning skate. Franchise is Back – Electronic Arts I also made another thread about Skateboarding games but I think we can keep it all in here. Skate was a huge series and I expect this game will bring a lot of fans back to the genre. Emmi
This information comes straight from todays' first Skate. "The Board Room". How do you feel about it? My opinion: I shouldn't be surprised by EA to f*ck this franchise up (as well) ... that's coming from someone who was so excited by Skate's reveal trailer last month. No story mode, just multiplayer and free-to-play with lots of microtransactions ... no thank you EA. Edited July 14 by Emmi Mexicola9302
DexMacLeod
It depends what the game ends up being. If it's just a big, open-world skateboarding sandbox with a simple progression system then I'm fine with this. If they somehow turn it into a skateboarding battle royale game, I'm not interested. Really, any type of forced PVP is a no-go for me. I just want a decent open world I can hop into for an hour or two at a time and explore on a skateboard with easy to learn, difficult to master mechanics. Jason
Makes sense, really. Single player skate boarding games are a dead breed I think it would be fair if sad thing to say, and not particularly among the most popular games anymore so f2p allows them to get a lot of people in the door very quickly. Easy to f*ck up F2P of course but great F2P games exist, it can be done. Going an online route with an open world skateboarding game makes sense at that point, big open world where you're always seeing other players, lots of customisation, throw in stuff like community/co-op park building etc which it sounds like it has and it sounds like it could be fun to me. The worry in my eyes would be forcing online and competitive (PvP) onto players. They need a sturdy single player progression system in place and lots to do as a solo player in general going forward. Going by the leaks many people are genuinely saying the gameplay feels rock solid, so it sounds positive on that front. Ivan1997GTA

Jason
What I willsay is the game needs to be genuinely good at launch cause if it's a load of sh*te then EA's track record of sticking with a game and turning it around is, well, none existent.
