Jagged/Pixelated shadows is a problem that hasn't been solved over a decade later.

Four months ago, I was so excited to play the most grand video game of all time, i thought it was gonna be this unbelievable experience. It certainly could have been, if it wasn't for the fundamental and ridiculous technical problems.

I am not even going to talk about LoD issue in here, that's another thing which goes above and beyond including other video games if you search about it. You might be able to ignore it up to a point. But when shadows on character's faces constantly flicker in front of your eyes while you try to focus on the cinematic scenes and immerse yourself in the story and the facial animations, then it starts to become really annoying. I've went and checked if this is really how everyone plays this game and it turns out, yes. LoD and pop in issue is apparent on everyone, even with the latest PS5 version (which fortunately and finally has decent looking shadows).

Here is two screenshots from PC and PS5 version. PC version video is 7 years old, but i assure you nothing has changed. You can sort by upload date, pick a random GTA V ending video and you will see the same pixelated shadows.

My video card is RTX 2060 Ventus XS, this is with NVIDIA PCSS but it's not relevant. It doesn't make any difference which kind of settings or GPU you are using. Rockstar who has added countless of content in GTA Online can't solve a simple shadow rendering issue in one of the biggest video games of all time. This is the industry we are living in today. Here's a video, this time about the LoD issue if you want to check that out. I don't even see the point of creating this thread. It's just another echo in the endless chamber.

I did. Difference is unnoticable if you aren't particularly looking.
