I beat the mission to kill the president in GTA 1 Vice City using a kill frenzy. Shame you can’t do it in later games though. Good. Still feels good to not use it for the others tho. Is there some sort of toggable list for games? I'd like to set sort by "WAS on PS3, WASN'T on 360 or PS4" and see how many games are there, since those are the games where the PS3 version would presumably be the definitive way to play it (PC honestly varies case by case). That would still exclude special cases like Toy Story 3 or Arkham Asylum where the PS3 version has bonus content that the 360 version doesn't, but it would be close enough. (Unrelated note, apparently that Angry Birds game I got on 360 is the only way to play most of Angry Birds Summer and Angry Birds Rio now since the original got delisted...and I got ONE of the two DLCS back in the day that added some more levels...though I missed the second one and now it's delisted so that's not fully complete, but eh, even with both DLC it still excludes the additions in 2014-2016 for Summer and the Rio 2 stuff for Rio...and the Vita version apparently had both DLCs content..I dunno, some part of me is just ticked I got the disc and payed for ONE DLC, and kinda just missed the second one by a few weeks and now it's one of the only ways to play a bunch of stuff) Edited August 3 by Anywhere USA
Anywhere USA
Everything done except the Shotgun Kill Frenzy, the 3 car kill frenzys, Tanks-Giving, and the Redneck Prison Mission. Gonna do the Shotgun Kill Frenzy in Tanks-Giving(unlike all the other cop ones these one is seemingly impossible without it, UZI took over 90 attempts and basically required perfect spawns and this is harder and worse), and then do the Prison mission and The Final Job! Then save, do the 3 car ones in one go(the mine one first since its the hardest) and get out and make history. Out of the supposed '9' impossible kill frenzys, 6 of them can be beaten through the combination of sheer will and dumb luck. And the other 3 CAN be beaten without glitches like Wang Car, they just require prep(The shotgun one requires a specific mission, and the two cop car ones require you to get a very finicky stack of cars to not despawn). Still, I am on the verge of doing it.
Anywhere USA
Got the shotgun one done, and unlike the Youtuber I didn't exploit the "Spawn Soldiers" glitch. I simply parked a B-Type outside the crane near the Village, went and stole the tank, drove back, drove the b type into the crane and turtled behind a crate surviving tank fire and a soldier attack until the invisibility powerup spawned, and then sprinted to the kill frenzy and shot 20 soldiers in my remaining invisibility time. No glitches, no making soldiers spawn outside the mission, just using intended mechanics in perhaps a slightly unintended way to beat a poorly programmed kill frenzy. Now I just gotta do the Prison Misison. Edited August 4 by Anywhere USA

Just be aware that the final mission is tougher here than it was in Downtown. I agree, it would be great to have a list of games only on PS3 and PC, but l’m not sure if one exists. One other thing is that Demon’s Souls received a remake a while back, so is no longer a PS3 exclusive. The 360’s security is very good, so installing delisted DLC would require a hard mod, if it’s even possible after that. The XBOX was really easy to softmod, so Microsoft made sure the 360 couldn’t be easily hacked. I only know of one exploit found, back in 2006. It’s since been patched of course. I'm very familiar with the BS on the 360. I spent years trying to get a delisted game(which got relisted eventually, thank god). I got my COD profile reset because I accidentally wandered into a modded server where everyone was flying and MLG memes were rampent...somehow(not even sure HOW that happened since I had nothing fancy on my end, it just happened) The Wii, Wii U, and PS Vita versions all came with all the levels included(ok, not all of them, these games were being updated as late as Christmas 2016 and the Trilogy came out in 2012 with the last DLC in March 2013...but...all the ones that were ever offered on Trilogy) since they released later, and the 3DS Version was f*cked and never had the option to get more levels. PS3 and 360 only had them via DLC. I'm just ticked I bought the first DLC pack in March 2013, apparently like two weeks before the second one came out, and I just missed it. The WII-U version probably has identical graphics and might even control better, same with VITA(Which I might actually look into, since Angry Birds is best played on the go). Or on PS3 and Wii. PS3 trumps Wii in almost all cases. Edited August 4 by Anywhere USA
Anywhere USA
The last couple years have really made it clear there is going to be...just a sh*t load of gaming content lost to time. What's going to happen to all those broken ass games with massive day 1 patches(followed by months of other patches) when the servers go down and you're stuck playing the crappy broken ass version shipped? What about all the games with DLC that never gets re-released.

What about all the games with DLC that never gets re-released. This is absolutely true. Even now there are years of games lost to time on consoles that are difficult/impossible to run custom firmware on. This is also true for DLC, like the Angry Birds DLC you mentioned. It’s slightly better on PC, since at least piracy is a last resort there, but many games are still impossible to buy legally. This is why I’m a huge fan of physical media. I’ve played loads of games that were released before I was born, as I can still buy them used. This will be way less possible in the future. Consider the situation if Sony had closed the PS3 Store last year as they originally announced. All PS3 digital games and all PS3 DLC would be impossible to obtain on an unmodded system. Even worse, what if it couldn’t be modded? Physical media doesn’t prevent delisted DLC or updates that are no longer available, but it’s something at least. Even worse, what if it couldn’t be modded? Physical media doesn’t prevent delisted DLC or updates that are no longer available, but it’s something at least. It's just, when I was a bit younger it was relatively rare, the 7th generation was the first to widely have online material and it was still fresh. Sure, the original Xbox had a small number of XBLA games(none of them were exclusive and I think like 5 of the total 20 can still be obtained through demo discs), Pokemon had it's event Pokemon that could only be obtained legitimately for a few weeks in 2005 and still do, and there were weird one-offshoots like Seganet or Setallaview with their lost games like Garfield or voice over Link to the Past, but it was few and far between. Now with the 7th generation dying and the 8th and especially 9th generations increasingly digital, things are suddenly looking far more dire and the amount of games that will either be completely inaccessible, have critical patches that make the game playable inaccessible, or be missing tons of DLC content is ballooning. Fewer and fewer games have physical copies that don;'t require online or day 1 patches. Atleast back in the 7th gen DLC often got included in later runs of the game(Like Angry Birds Trilogy on those later systems, or my GOTY copy of Arkham Asylum for PS3, which not only includes all the DLC maps including the PS3 exclusive Joker ones, but ALSO threw in the maps exclusive to pre-order bonuses. Otherwise all of that would have been lost except for people who pre-ordered AND bought all the DLC. That's honestly a really nice addition. Same with(I THINK) the GOTY edition of Arkham City although I think it missed some smaller DLC). Also, digital only games can be wiped out in a way physical can't. Angry Birds Trilogy is the only way to play 80% of Angry Birds Summer(the second and easily largest game in the series) and 60% of Angry Birds Rio(excluding the stuff added in 2014-2016 for both) because the originals got delisted due to licensing lissues. Angry Birds Star Wars on Xbox One is the only way to play that. Trilogy is the only way to play an unedited version of most of the original Angry Birds since the original version of the original got delisted due to the aging software struggling and you can only get a remaster) . BTW, good for Rovio for remaking the original when the old code was showing it's age and apparently they are TRYING to negociate something with BlueSky to get Angry Birds Rio back....heh...wouldn't it be funny if that negociatation worked out and the DLC came back for a couple months before the 360 store shut down....certainely possible. SpongeBob Underpants Slam came back to the 360 store in 2019 after being delisted in 2013(due to THQ going under) after THQ Nordic was formed and got the Spongebob license back. Anywhere USA
The Prison Mission is proving tricky. I beat it once(and the game crashed immediately after Job Complete), almost beat it again(somehow got boxed between two cop cars in an alley after jumping off a ramp) and have a dozen failed attempts in between. Gotta redo the Prison mission....hmm.....I've got an idea tho Penal Ties is quite a tough mission. Strange that it crashed, it was fine for me on v10.3. The last mission is also quite hard. The Redneck guy with the machine gun is fine, but the Scientist with the flamethrower and the Zaibatsu guy with the rocket launcher can be really difficult. They can sometimes kill each other though, if they meet. It might be worth leaving an easy green phone mission as the last mission before the final one in Industrial. I don’t know which map you’re using, but some maps for Industrial are based on the official European map, which doesn’t show Mad Island in the north-west. This is because it’s based on the PS1 version, which doesn’t have Mad Island. Use one based on the official North American map instead, which is based on the PC version and so includes Mad Island. We’re definitely in a new era for older game availability. As you said, the seventh generation is the first to properly see this. Good to hear Angry Birds is on Vita, I might get it there. I had the demo on my phone years ago, but never got the full version before it was delisted. I actually played The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets last year on a flash cart on my Super Famicom. It’s really good, and the fan-recorded English voice acting is great. They were able to salvage all of it except for the Japanese voice acting, amazingly. I never thought I’d be able to play it. Link to the Past is one of my favourite games too. I need to play the Zelda 1 remake now. I hated Pokémon events, as they were never held in my country. I always read about them, but could never attend one. It really felt unfair. As it turns out, there was a Mew event held in Dublin in 2000, but I never knew about it (no Internet at the time). That was the only one ever though. As it turns out, there was a Mew event held in Dublin in 2000, but I never knew about it (no Internet at the time). That was the only one ever though. Yeah. Angry Birds Trilogy originally included all the content from the first 3 games(which was all that existed at the time, Angry Birds Space came out a few months later during development), plus achievements and some Angry Birds Toons that can be unlocked(though that's hardly unique, the mobile games by the mid 2010s had dozens of the shorts packed in). Everything prior to Halloween 2011, that is, since that's when it started development. Pack 1 added everything up to Summer 2012 and Pack 2 everything up to Christmas 2012. Angry Birds got I think 3 or 4 more episodes after that up until 2016 or so, and Summer got a dozen or so more until 2016 or so. Rio was mostly done until Rio 2 in 2015 which got a new set of levels which obviously isn't there. So it's not the complete game(3DS especially, and PS3/360 without the packs), but the VITA and Wii U versions are the only legitimate way to experience most of Seasons and Rio these days. (I think I've been calling it Summer, by mistake, it's Seasons, it started with Halloween and it's whole thing is each episode is thematic to something at the time, whether a holiday or olympics or something) even if the full game is unavailible. No matter where you buy it, the episodes released in 2013-2016 are impossible to play legitmately, but MOST of the first 3 games are there and probably in the best quality you'll get. Yeah Pokemon events are a bitch. They aren't lost, but the fact the only legit way was to be so and so 20 years ago kinda stinks. Cool.

Anywhere USA
Oh, and I just checked, I still have my old PC copies of Angry Birds and Angry Birds Space updated to late 2013. I got them on my XP shortly before replacing it. I'm not sure if patches made after that existed(They apparently were for sale as late as November 2015 on there). If there are some, then I could almost certainely get them. PC games aren't so easily kept caged like console games. That, and I recall buying a copy of Seasons, but never downloading it. Pity. The port of Angry Birds looks a bit low quality(I think it's based on an older build of the mobile game), but Space still looks and runs great on my XP. Might have to play that since they all got delisted.

It’s particularly impressive that you beat all the kill frenzies without cheating or using glitches. Just remember to copy your save before starting Industrial. You’ll also have bonus areas D, E and F unlocked. You may have to switch to v11.44 to beat the mission Locked Out, if the same glitch that I got happens to you. I can say that doing so didn’t have any negative effects once I switched back to v10.3, but I didn’t attempt any kill frenzies so that may not necessarily be the case. Anywhere USA
There's a minor bug that causes the game to trigger The Final Job! to count twice, you get "Job Complete" and the multiplier after two guys are killed(sometimes it skips Job Complete), but you can't save at the church til the third guy is dead. It only gives you one multiplier, but it DOES cause the mission counter to say 23/22. Just a visual bug, but proof this wasn't tested well. And I played that whole thing twice, once this morning, one last night, it's seemingly just always there(I doubt most people notice since they don't check as much as I do) Bigger glitch(also occured twice), beating the mission seems to leave every civilian on 'riot' mode permanently until you save and reload the game, I barely got back to the Church with my life. Good news is reloading fixes it. Also had a random bug last night where all gangs(Initially just the Prisoners, but later it seemed to be ALL of them) turned into civvies. Anyway, I've gotta do those 3 kill frenzys in one go and get my picture. See ya

I did get the riot mode glitch, and had to do the mission again after getting wasted by the rioting pedestrians the first time (my car got stuck and I had to get out). I thought it was part of the game but you could be right, maybe it’s a glitch. It also happened to me in Industrial, but thankfully I was right next to the church. Also really interesting about gangs becoming pedestrians. They could really have tested this game more. A guide to the Wang Cars is here. A map is here. It’s worth saving and then copying your save after getting seven, as the car rewards disappear after you reload when you get eight.

I guess a jailbroken IPhone/iPad or Android device is the only way to play them now.it’s ridiculous that they’re not available. It’s often licensing that prevents games from being re-released or is responsible for them being delisted. Games that use licensed music are a particular problem. We’ve seen most GTA games from GTA III onward drop music in particular ports or after a certain amount of time. Hopefully Rovio can work something out and they’ll be put up again. It's possible the old PC versions had a couple of extra episodes. They were for sale until November 2015. My two seemingly last updated in 2013, but it's possible there were further patches. My XP was shutdown in September 2013 for a virus, and by the time I got it back up in 2016 the website had already shut down so no update could be sent to me. Of course, it's also possible Rovio sent out a kill code or an update that disabled the game in 2015, so I may have unintentionally saved the two games. Guess I'll have to research. Not sure if they were ever on disc or just redeem code(i did the latter, and again, I bought Seasons and never downloaded for some reason) but if it's the former you could probably just buy a disc and get the update patches somewhere(the updates were all free, so that's perfectly above board).
