You can pick Land Roamers from the Army Base Alert for this KF.

3 trailer ones I skipped.

Got about 7 done, stopped at the "20 Police Cars in 120 seconds" one. Now, in theory, this should be far far easier than it's infamous broken equivalent in Area 2. 20 in 2 minutes is possible, I got to 9 without setup last time in 60 seconds and there was a LOT of walking to start. The problem is the wanted level is uncapped and by the halfway mark even under perfect conditions your gonna have the army on your ass and that's not gonna end well for anyone. So I'll probably have to macgivure my way out of that onne.

Also got the last yellow mission done. The two tank turrets on the edge are relatively easy to blitz, you can get ahead of the turrets and jump behind them, then just pepper them with molotovs. The one in the center requires a bit of lucky timing, but if you get in close, your good, the turret turns super slow.

Gotta be honest, looking forward to being done with GTA 2

Since you know the trick to dealing with tanks, Army Base Alert might be the best mission to leave until last. It's a Zaibatsu red phone. I can imagine the kill frenzies could definitely be tougher with the army alright. At least they're easier than the ones in Residential, from what I've heard anyway.

Went through em all, 15/20, got a few stragglers, mostly truck cab stuff, now onto tokens.

Well, at least they don't seem to have been as bad as the ones in Residential. While the tokens are the hardest to get in this area, at least there aren't any that require you to kill yourself (or was supposed to anyway) like token 19 in Residential.

Half way there.

I’m realizing at this point I’m probably one of the internets leading experts on the 2-D GTA Era just from lack of competition. You are too. Hell I don’t think anyone else has 100%ed GTA 2 glitchless and on the official version.

Any word on Adhoc Party?

Unfortunately most people haven't played the 2D era games. This is understandable to an extent due to lack of compatibility with modern Windows and the need for physical maps, but I think most people just don't give them a chance. Which is a shame, as they're very good games (well, maybe not so much London 1961). There are certainly a lot of unique features, areas and missions. An updated re-release on PC with some missions and GTA 2 kill frenzies fixed, an in-game map and multiplayer that's easy to use would definitely help, but that's never going to happen.

I tried the Irish version of Adhoc Party and I was able to connect to my PSP and host a game in a lobby. So we will be able to play online in Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories and Chinatown Wars!

Cool. Now I just need to find the right model. Is 250 a good price for that model? I was hoping to find it cheaper, but no luck as of yet.

CA$250 is a very good price. Just be careful about reliability, as that isn’t the best with the older models.

Then you can make an Irish PSN account (I think you have to do this on a web browser, a PS4 or a PS5 these days, you can then sign into it on PS3) and download Adhoc Party.

K.

I might also try it with a few other childhood PSP games I never got to experience the multiplayer of, like that one Pacman racing game....

Assuming I get it that is, we shall see. I also don't own VCS or LCS on PSP yet

Got all 50 Tokens, plus found a Kill Frenzy I had missed by mistake...by mistake.

There's the 3 car frenzys I have to do last, the RPG Cop Car one which will require some prep, and all the red phone missions.

Great. Looks like you're on the home stretch of Industrial. Then there are just a few bonus levels to do, and of course we have to play a few multiplayer games.

I only did the first bonus level for area 2, had trouble figuring out the pattern.

Did the first two for Area 1, had trouble with getting the max score on the last one.

I never played the bonus areas that much. I should really give them a proper try and get the high scores on them.

First set is a arena with ice cream trucks you have to destroy, second set is a race course where you also have to kill pedestrians for max points, and the final set(i've read) is basically a big Kill Frenzy.

Got the RPG one done. Now the red phones

Following the same trends as before, the two Russian ones are super easy, won on first try. So I didn’t save. Saving those for last and tackling the Zaibatsu ones first as those are usually hardest. Stealing a tank for them is not easy.

That's one of the hardest missions. It took me quite a few tries to beat it.

Ok, all done, Final Job! was easy(seriously, mines, use em, they make the mission a piece of cake). Now I just gotta do the 3 kill frenzys

Also, yeah, the final mission seems to trigger some sort of 'riot' mode, that goes away when you reload

Congratulations on finishing Industrial! 100% legit at last!

I’ll have to remember mines in the future. The riot mode seems to be intended. It makes it much harder though. At least if you use mines you’ll always be in a car when you finish The Final Job!

I’d be interested to see what the bonus rounds are like.

No, unfortunately, got work in the morning. How about tomorrow night?

Multiplayer has the standard kills and points modes from GTA 1 and the London games. It also has a new mode called Frag mode. In this mode one player at random is designated as the target, and the other players have to kill him/her. Any car the target drives gets more damaged over time. When the target dies another player becomes the target. Obviously this mode would be a much better experience with more than two players, but that's what it is anyway.

It has six maps, Downtown, Residential, Industrial and three others, I think they're used in the bonus levels. We also have the option to enable cops. No races this time unfortunately.

It should be interesting to see what it's like.

Just need the last two plus multiplayer....uh, BTW, apparently just last week the GTA 2 design document was leaked and then taken down by Rockstar. You wouldn't happen to have saved it?

The last thing to do in single player in the 2D era. I never heard the design document had been leaked. Shame, I'd have like to see it.

Ok done.

Question: If you decide to start playing an old area(like Area 1?) Do you lose access to Area 2 and 3 and the bonus levels?

You don't lose access to them, but you will lose your save from one of the other two areas if you save there. Now would be a good time to backup your save folder actually and store it in a USB flash drive, an external hard drive or the cloud or something. You don't lose access to the bonus areas either, and as far as I know, their high scores are saved separately, so they will be unaffected by saving in a different area. If you copy one of your old saves that you made with 100% done in Downtown or Residential, you will of course only have access to the areas and bonus areas you had unlocked at that point.

Congratulations on beating single player GTA 2D era 100% by the way! It's quite the achievement. By a good margin the hardest games in the series, with the exception of GTA: London 1969. The only game after GTA 2 that comes anywhere near the 2D era games is GTA III.

If you're interested in more top-down GTA, there's GTA Advance and GTA: Chinatown Wars. GTA III also has a top-down camera angle, but it's not really designed for it.
