How Often do you get Customers at the Auto Shop?

The rest are common sense, like being inside the Auto Shop interior or not owning an Auto Shop or if you haven't completed the Auto Shop setup mission ...etc.

 

If you're in the clear, the RNG flips a coin. If it lands on the right face, a bit set is enabled and a second timer is initialized. RNG chooses a value from 0 to 10 minutes for the second timer. Once it elapses, the process starts and you receive a customer car. Keep in mind, the second timer is simply a safe check and your RNG result has been determined already before it starts.

but are there missions, which resets the timer?

cause I had several 2-3 hour sessions, in which no customer arrived. I did autoshop mini heists i.e.

From the explanation it just sounds like it stops the timer, it doesn't reset it.

What's been working for me so far this week is doing different activities. My best advice is to learn the cooldown timers for the most lucrative freemode jobs or the ones you like and organize your playtime, this way you'll always have something to do. Even if it takes a bit more than usual for a customer car to show up, it never ends up being too long because of your strategy.

 

Example:

I usually start a session with a payphone hit, do a autoshop contract prep/finale, sell customer car, check my arcade for bunker progress/nightclub fame, repeat. After doing all of that, the payhone hit cooldown has already ended so I can start another one right away. Also, there are many autoshop contract preps that end up with you delivering stuff at the Autoshop, so that's the perfect time to sell a customer car. It takes me a couple of minutes to reach these places, which means there's a small time window after each activity, so the game almost always spawns another customer car for me. I also have to empty my nightclub safe from time to time, which gives the game another couple of minutes for a customer car to appear.

 

The order in which I do things varies in relation to cooldowns etc, but you can see what I mean.

 

I'm averaging like 1 - 1.2m per 60-90 minutes, which is not bad at all. I usually just play cayo perico, but tbh, I enjoy doing different stuff in a single freeroam session a lot more. Focusing on only one activity is never good in this game and imo it makes it boring af. 

 

PS. I have 2 car lifts in my autoshop

Something weird happened to me today, i delivered a Rebla GTS, i got the money and REP etc. i did quit the game for lunch, taking a shower etc. then started to play again, and the Rebla GTS was there again, exactly how i already tuned it the last time, and i delivered it again, and got the money and REP again.

 

I wish i could trigger this bug on purpose and just keep delivering the car over and over again. :D

Just came back in here to confirm this comment was 100% correct. This week I have customers coming in like water from a broken faucet. Even both lifts are occupied now. They should do this triple money thing over.

I can't confirm this, I've played this week and it's still slow. I really feel like it's just how the RNG works, it's kinda overly complex. Pretty sure this kind of thing is set in the background scripts and such a change would be detected by dataminers.

Delivering these cars is one of the few things I enjoy when I play this game. 
 

When they are 2 or 3x I can go hours without ever getting one. One of the reasons I lost interest in the game.

Currently something is very wrong with the customer cars. I played like 14 hours 10 yesterday maybe a bit more and a bit more than 4 hours today. I didn't get a single customer car, and no i wasn't in a mission or inside buildings all the time, there were many gaps between being busy.

Yesterday I had one car when I checked out the game in the morning. Logged back on later in the evening and I had two in there. Delivered one of them and instantly received a text that another was dropped off. Sure enough, I had two in there. Delivered them both and have yet to see another one show up.

is it possible, that all these new activities interupt the background timer?

because i literally started on job after another, so no chance to let the background timer start ticking...

I'm on PC also, and I have them all the time... before I was driving them personally, but yesterday I used two dodos from shop - and I was a lot online yesterday (in couple of sessions) 🤷‍♂️

I know it is not important but just in case, my shop is one in the middle of the town next to big mall.

Hadn't got a single car in autoshop since update, been playing around 12 hours in total last night  and tuesday night, still nothing. Before this update often one would arrive in autoshop every in game day, sometimes sooner.

in order to make the car spawn faster 

 

1. never deliver a damaged vehicle

2. always deliver yourself

3. always get a bonus for adding an extra mod

4. always alternate which lifts your selling and keep track

 

i.e. dont sell lift 1 twice in a row, always alternate. if you dont have a choice just wait for car to spawn.

 

following these rules i have always got back to back vehicles.

You just have luck with your RNG, it has nothing to do with your 4 steps. Sometimes it just gets broken for a week, that is all, some get it bugged and some don't.

I'm on PC and I been getting customers since the update. I been wondering if the frequency have something to do with successful deliveries. Like the more happy customers, the more word of mouth spread kinda thing. Or maybe that's just my imagination.

The only change I've noticed so far is that Rockstar added a new check to ensure the game doesn't spawn or replace an existing client vehicle upon getting a new customer. A preventive measure to ensure you don't end up with a bugged customer delivery.

 

But in terms of RNG, it remains the same. Just a matter of being lucky.

Spawn rate seems to be the same for me. Why just today, I was a sliver of RP from ranking up after completing the final ULP mission. Decided to go deliver a car to get that final bit of RP. As soon as I banked the money from the delivery, Sessanta texted me with another customer car.

For me, after update, never get second client car. Even if info popup in left-down corner about new auto in autoshop, if I already had one, second one will not appear. No problems with spot #1 in my case, clients always deliver new cars for this one.

Clearly it's working great. This is what happened today to my customized Penumbra FF I kept as an exhibit. Apparently the custom mods data transfered over to the Weevil.

Can't even recreate it anymore, since for whatever reason they took away changing window tints in this update. Thx C*.

This was actually part of the background update that went live yesterday. They change the client vehicles to Weevil and another vehicle if you have some specific custom mods. Not really sure why.
