Well, it's for the same reasons that Tommy Vercetti changed his clothes for Colonel Cortez's party - to look more respectable.

 

Speaking of which, I'm sure a similar mod for Vice City will probably be in the cards one day.

We tried to bring some doc elements like the pager and the outfit, aside from the second girl. The outfit even has official artwork from R*, so we thought it'd make a great addition. We'll probably make it a requirement for Sal's Called A Meeting too, since that's a good idea.

I think it would be a good idea to get mafia clothes when we start the mission for Toni Cipriani, for Lugi and Joy we are more errand boys and for Toni the serious mafia job is already starting. It would be nice if you had to wear this outfit for a mission to Toni. I would rather see something more elegant for the Sal's Called A Meeting mission.

We aren't changing that. They will be unlocked after Luigi's Girls, though they'll be necessary for the meeting mission most likely.

cool,mod is very nice and has potential. These types of bonuses give character to this game. I always lacked the ability to spend money the most, if you could add more things to buy and change your earnings a little, it would be fun. Of course, that's just my loose idea.

We may probably make Import/Export cars be buyable and have some special abilities, like in VCS. Aside from that, there aren't many opportunities for buyable stuff that would fit our vision.

If you told me this was running on GTA VC's RW or LCS RE3 engine, I'd believe you in a heartbeat. It doesn't look or feel like GTA III anymore (not in a bad way). I absolutely love it! Great work.
I see you're also using new GXT entries, if you want to make it multilingual and still need translations into German, I might be able to help :D

Fantastic!!! I love the Taxi Driver outfit, it fits perfectly with this game, and all the other graphics and other edits you guys are doing are also great. Even if I've played GTA 3 a lot, this feels completely fresh and new, like rediscovering the game, judging from these pics and video. I'm gonna finally play the whole game again when the mod is ready.

@Sergiu mang, excellent work there bro! Installing this mod onto my copy of GTA3 when it releases is definitely on my to-do list now.

 

BTW is that Yakuza outfit inspired by Yakuza 0? Claude looks a bit like Kiryu there, lol.

Actually it's inspired by Kiryu's outfit from the the first game/Kiwami, but yeah it's a Yakuza reference 😛

Are there any plans to implement Silent's aircraft mod in this project? You could tweak some flaws it has, like fixing the RC-like handling all helicopters have by replacing it with proper behaviors.

Bah it's stupid that there are no motorcycles, the mod wants to be in the style of Liberty City Stories. It would have been better to port the mod to the Vice City engine or use the GTA Liberty City mod

 

 

Having motorcycles would be great, but I'm okay with not having them. The official lore stated that Liberty City banned motorcycles some time between 1998 and 2001. I know everyone says "that's just a quick excuse from Rockstar Games for not having bikes in GTA III" and it is, but oh well.

The Liberty City mod for Vice City was really awesome but I'm not sure if it had some buggy animations in some mission cutscenes.

Dude, they've thought about adding bikes in, but they've also looked at it technical-wise and it'll be a f*cking pain to implement them into the game. Literally the whole game engine would need to be reimplemented. It's based on GTA3 and it's gonna stay there, bikes or no bikes.

 

Besides, this isn't just another cheap and crappy rip-off of LCS. It intends to update the game's lore and atmosphere to be in line with the rest of the 3D-era GTA games, and that's supposed to be done with GTA3 only and not on the already-unstable GTA LC mod so why even use any other GTA game to update GTA3 lore?!

Yeah, and then have other issues like no facial animations for heads in cutscenes and other things. Not to mention it got a DMCA last year.

 

We will never use this mod as base, nor Vice City. This mod was, is and will be for III exclusively. Please don't ask us to use it again. You can live without bikes just fine.

We don't know. We'll do what we can with what we currently have.

EDIT: they're as fast as in VC now.
