Solution MasonWyberg360 Posted June 24 Solution Share Posted June 24 (edited) I own an XBOX 360 manufactured sometime in 2010, though the stock hard drive may be much older as it has data from 2007 but that doesn't matter. I recently decided to re-purchase GTA V as my console ate the last copy. After installing it, booting up a new save, playing around for a few days, and getting bored, I decided it was time to get the content updates. I downloaded them all at once, making sure to stay in chronological order as I knew they required each other in order to operate. I boot up the game, siren screen and R* warning go as normal. I get to the "Loading Story Mode" screen, 4-5 images pass, it freezes. Completely unresponsive. I turn off the console and try again. Same thing. I delete the DLC, try again, works fine. I reinstall it one update at a time, testing after each download. First one, crash. I have no idea what to do. Thanks for your time. EDIT: Got it to work, turns out somehow the Title Updates did NOT install upon first booting the game. After installing both compatibility packs which also seemed to help, I got a DLC to load. I will update later with the rest of them installed. Enjoying my unlimited supply of Roosevelts. Edited June 28 by MasonWyberg360
Rotorhead359
So if I understand correctly, your game will only work with no DLC installed at all? Have you tried running the game with the console disconnected from the internet? (offline mode) It may be because Rockstar dropped support for Xbox360 and PS3 and has shut down the Online servers. Most of the DLC content is for Online mode, in Story mode you only get some weapons and vehicles. You don't really need the DLC to play story mode, unless you are specifically looking for a DLC item like maybe the homing launcher or marksman rifle? MasonWyberg360
Yes. I've tried running it in offline mode. It only works with no DLC. I'm just interested in the DLC cars and yeah a couple guns too.
MasonWyberg360
I have an idea, since it adds cars to all protagonist garages, it might be trying to overwrite my cars that I already have in there. I'll try removing one and putting it in the safehouse garage and trying again later.
