A few questions...

So... is there a way to sit or lie down?  It would be nice to go lounge on the beach and watch the sunset.

 

Is there a way to get rid of vehicles I don't want?  Yes, I can sell cars, but what about boats?

Same for clothing, is there a way to be rid of clothes I don't want?

And also weapons.  Yes, there are many I can drop, and there's a weapon locker, but many can't be dropped and won't go in the locker (eg. the silly space lasers).  In the same vein, is there a way to avoid picking UP weapons I don't want?

 

Is there a way to alter the attributes of a Yacht (I mean the big ones).  Somehow, I seem to have acquired one, though I've no idea how, but I can't seem to access it.  Is there a way to, for example, change the name... or sell it?

 

Is there a way to see an apartment BEFORE buying it?  So many have nice locations, but you can't see OUT of the windows to admire the view.

 

Is there a way to open the map directly?  As it is, I press escape, then click the mouse to actually make the map usable.  It would be nice to be able to skip the first step and go straight to the interactive map.

I've seen YouTube videos showing tours of each apartment. They even show the views out of each window at the different locations or floors.

Nope. Asides from interior props (couches, office chairs), your character cannot interact with benches or ledges, even those that you see NPCs sitting on. There are no poses in the vanilla game that allow this either.

Some garage vehicles can be sold, or over-written (by grabbing cars from the street to fill up the garage and squeeze out the unwanted). That isn't true for Pegasus or 'Special' vehicles though - once you've bought them, they're yours for life.

It'd be nice to only pick up ammunition from fallen enemies or mission pickups, but you can't specify which weapons your character can collect or not. Nothing can be sold, but you can remove / swap accessories for your weapons in Ammunation stores or similar locations.

As HamWithCheese answered, if you own a yacht you can access customisation options through the Docktease website (paint schemes, flags, naming etc.). If you purchased a Criminal Starter Pack (or similar) then that might be where you got the yacht from... although if you didn't do that and can't access a yacht that is supposedly yours, then that sounds like your account has been compromised by a mod-menu / script-kiddy, which is a matter you'd have to take up with Rockstar. Oh, and to maintain the theme of most of these answers, all sales are final and the yacht is yours forever.

In game, no. But Google and YouTube might give more insight as to the features, locations and views of each one.

If the OP didn't actually buy a yacht, there does seem to be a "yacht glitch". One will spawn with your name on it, but there aren't any copters or boats spawned, and you can't enter it, or do anything to it.

Ya, that sounds like it.

 

Either way, I don't have it today.  I filed a report with Rockstar explaining that it just mysteriously appeared, and has now disappeared, just in case someone "gifted" it to me.

 

On that subject, does that mean my account is compromised?  Password hacked and the like?

For sitting or lying down, the hot tubs on the roof of the Diamond Casino is the only outside option I can think of. Is kind of a bummer you can't sit or lie on a beach towel at Del Perro but at least they added an outdoor option.

I wouldn't have thought so, not if it's a known glitch and seems to have been taken care of now. I wouldn't worry. 

Unfortunately, as above, there are a lot of 'No's' to your thread, one of the many requested things from the game has been the chance to seel unwanted vehicles, businesses etc, but this has not been implemented into the game.

So I did end up buying the Marquis sailboat, even though it doesn't actually SAIL, and has an engine noise.

 

There are a few things I'd love to see Rockstar do with the boats in general, because I love the water and boating in general, but I don't know how one would offer suggestions (assuming they would even consider them).

 

Is there a forum or website or something where I can offer ideas, or would I just have to file a ticket?

- cant sit / lie down / etc, try some unofficial mp mods if you want this
- cant sell boats, cant sell but can overwrite helis & planes if u have a hangar
- cant sell clothing
- cant avoid picking up certain weapons (but based on what issue you have, you can change default weps in sp if that helps)
- you can go back to the docktease site to change your yacht
- cant see an apartment before buying
- cant open map directly, increasing the size of the minimap is your only quick option really
- your account could be hacked yes, but R* wont care if so.. change pwds & setup/refresh 2FA to be safe
- you can suggest stuff here: https://www.rockstargames.com/gta-online/feedback but its unclear if they still care
- game really needs a boat/ocean dlc, they sorta did one not to long ago (that yacht update) but they didnt add dock/boat garage..

All weapons can go in the locker, and there's an option to choose your personal loadout at the gun locker using a "hide/show" option. AFAIK, this only works in free mode, so you'll have to scroll through each category in the weapon wheel during missions/heists/DMs to choose your preferred one.

 

If you pick up a weapon you don't want to use in free mode, one that isn't in your chosen loadout at the gun locker, open your interaction menu and go to Inventory. Scroll down, and there's an option to "Enable custom weapon loadout." When available (it will sometimes not be, due to free mode activities), this defaults your loadout back to the one you chose at your locker.

Ya, that's what I thought, but it doesn't work... some of the weapons won't go in the locker (ie. can't be edited out of the custom loadout, such as the Navy Revolver or the space laser guns), and can't be discarded.  It's particularly annoying because the game keeps defaulting to those kinds of things at awkward times (eg. when driving, I'd rather use pretty much ANYTHING but the Navy Revolver, but it sticks me with that).

The only solution to get rid of everything (clothes, weapons, businesses and similar) is to make a fresh new character, and avoid the "Treasure hunt", the "Los Santos Slasher" and never ever pick up a golf club from the goif course...

And carefully buy your weapons and don't fall for any space weapons beacuse they are cool...

 

Harsh solution, yes...
But you still have your money in your Maze Bank account...

That's...odd. I own all of the weapons and they don't show up in my custom loadout unless I want them to, using that method.

If you own the weapons, then yeah, they will show up in the gun locker and you can control them.

If you have them because of a glitch, then you don't own them, and they won't show up in the Gun Locker. If you do an Arena War race then it will remove any glitched weapons you have. Until the next time you get the glitch.

This is my cherished dream. Over the years of the game, so many rags have accumulated in wardrobe, that it is impossible to find what i really need.

I'm ready to use any legal/illegal methods, but even modmenus do not have such a function!

So... something new.

 

I found a number of options in my settings that I changed, such as the option to load into Online instead of Story mode, and the automatic centering of the camera in first person.  However, every time I start the game, I find the settings have gone back to the default state.  Is there a way to make the game SAVE my settings?  It's kind of tedious having to do it every time.

I believe you need to change those settings in Story mode, then save your game. I know that's how it used to work, at least.
