Who voiced Mr. Black?

I know Rockstar “forgetting” to not credit voice actors since V is nothing new, but apparently they did it in VC and didn’t credit who voiced Mr. Black which is weird because he was a mission giver but I guess it’s whatever.

 

Also what the heck is that accent of his?

But yeh that’s a good point, Black might be voiced by the same guy who voiced Cortez, accent and all. Maybe when I get the time I’ll look him up and send an email or somethin asking him, who knows

I was thinking Scottish because how he rolls his Rs. He probably uses some sort of distorter though because his way of speaking is very funky. There is a hint of Chinese in it due to the inconsistent tempo.

Wtf I’ve never thought of any possibility of it being a Chinese accent

Well I said "hint" because, the properties that make it sound Chinese to me, don't appear that often. I think the strongest argument for Scottish though is in the Autocide phonecall when he says "whereabouts." That sounds very Scottish to me. Check out at the Check In also has a lot of words that feel as if they were pronounced by a Scot.

Whatever it is, it’s an exotic accent.

 

Also I listened to the autocide cutscene, f*cking I literally couldn’t understand the first two sentences. It’s easier understanding Little Jacob without the subtitles

I would love to know, I can kinda see the Cortez similarities but not sure if they would have used the same voice actor. Hopefully someone here can dig a little deeper and get us some more info.

In regards to that other thread, I was operating under the assumption that "Stalker" was Mr Black as per an old IGN FAQ, so I reached out to Will Morton who did the voice acting for Stalker, and the acting he did pertained to the tape left in the Love Fist limo. Obviously he couldn't remember all the details as it was 15+ years prior, but it seemed that Morton did the voice for the tape in the limo, and Hunter Platin did voice for The Psycho. Didn't bring us any closer to finding out who voiced Mr Black but it was a cool bit of trivia. Hopefully you got around to sending that email, I've had relatively good success contacting people associated with GTA games.

That is a great piece of trivia, pretty cool that employees/ex employees are happy to respond to questions like this. Hopefully we will be a step closer to finding Mr. Black.
