Hello, guys I must say I'm really enjoying the mod! I've been waiting for it since the announcement. I honestly liked JD's story more than Toni's. I started with the Soldier difficulty and played through all his missions without using body armor unless it was given for the mission. I can't wait to play through Marcus' story. I must say, I really love the writing and the accuracy of AI voicelines in the mod! Though I should have explored more to make things easier, but it's no problem to get guns early on, although body armor is hard to find if you're not looking. I decided to make an account so tell you something - since the beginning of the game, I thought I could create a Czech translation because the writing is pretty good. I like the different approach. Maybe also Polish because I need to practice it for my studies. Writing in Leeds GTAs feels kinda flippant (lacking seriousness), especially in VCS, which is not the case with your mod. I also love the extra effort of making periods and other diacritic at the end of the sentence white. Though some longer phonecall text should've been divided in two parts. I'll use GTA Vice City GXT Editor v1.2 by CyQ to translate the mod because it displays ~w~ and ~n~ tags. I used to have GTA Texter 0.9 which didn't show any tags and made texts with ~n~ tags invisible thus breaking the game. I might also give Forelli Redemption a try and translate it, too. I just wanted to ask, where is the fonts file located in Sindacco Chronicles so I can eventually add special characters to the translation if I learn the coding?

I could never find it in the PSP version. Thanks in advance!

 

Note: I might do a walkthrough of the Boss difficulty on YT, add the translated versions available for download, and of course add a link to the original mod itself for those who would like to compare it.

Added more info about GXT editors I use, added some notes and made some corrections and reverted changes according to OP's reply.

Thank you for the file! I'm afraid I can't find the font file in the game itself, is it in GAME.DTZ? I can't open it because my W10 tells me to download some dlls I had already installed... I guess I'll just try to make the best I can do (maybe at least add the characters with an accute thanks to the font file you sent me), switch back to W8 and then redraw the unused characters in the original size. Czech is rich with informal (and vulgar) expressions, so the translation will be more diversive. Adding special characters would make me able to diversify it even more because it would prevent some words from being the same. And Polish always had the way with words. I hope those original fonts have enough spacing so Polish ogonek.

Again, I put some more thoughts to my reply.

I'm unable to scroll between weapons inside both Ammu-Nations, it doesn't even display the buttons for switching, only to buy/exit. The analog stick and directional buttons make sounds, but nothing happens. I didn't care for it much while playing as JD because the missions were relatively easy and weapons were easily accesible as I stated earlier, but now I need body armor for Marcus while taking over businesses. I'll try to get them all nonetheless. Health is easy to find, at least on Staunton. Another issue is that if the phone starts ringing inside an Ammu-Nation, it will disable the marker until you save and load the game. I don't know if this problem was also present in original LCS.

 

I must appreciate the soundtrack, though. There are some songs that I missed dearly...

Oops, sorry for deleting a part of the sentence. I meant to say I hope the characters with said diacritic hook will show properly. I know that Polish localization to GTA usually doesn't have them.

I'll start translating the Portland section of ENGLISH.GXT to Czech tomorrow, and translate more strings as I progress throughout the game. Then I'll PM it to you, @the_1826. I'm not too good at digital drawing, so I won't be able to translate splash screens, though. I don't even have a proper software. I'll try to explore the map entirely, but I still hope someone will make a guide for collectibles and side missions in this mod. It deserves one. I already found a rampage in Chinatown (I like how it has a yellow color, just like rampages in CTW with gold medal achieved), and there's a hidden package clearly visible in one of JD's missions in Saint Mark's. I haven't collected them yet, I'm waiting for more to find. I apologize for posting constantly, I'm just having a blast playing the game again with the mod. I took over all Staunton businesses and should get some rest now.

 

Edit: I'm not able to open GAME.DTZ in g3DTZ, thus I can't edit fonts for the game yet. It doesn't work with the vanilla either. But I managed to find a secret.

1. I will make a first-day-patch tomorrow, it should fix all of the biggest issues :D
2. Doing Czech splashes isn't necesarry, I guess? Even Russian version has English ones

Вы не против если я портирую это на GTA 3 Definitive Edition? Но мне придется удалить/заменить все фишки VC, по типу Hunter (Вертолет) надо будет заменить на додо (я вроде находил мод для оригинальной GTA 3, который делает додо практически нормальным, думаю это измененный файл Handling.cfg (или как он там называется).

 

Во всех миссиях где используется мотоциклы придется заменить на машины.

 

Уникальные прыжки возможно пришлось бы отредактировать.

 

Все 20 фотоснимков наверно придется заменить спрятанными пакетами.

 

И т.д. и т.п.

 

И радио в GTA 3 DE и GTA VC DE  редактируется ужасно (если радиостанция длится дольше чем в оригинале, например Game FM (15 Минут и несколько секунд) то происходят баги, как их исправить неизвестно, так как отредактировав продолжительность радиостанции, то это не поможет, значит есть другой файл/файлы отвечающие за это.

 

И карта в LCS немного была изменена, а как редактировать карту в DE я не знаю, возможно все останется как в GTA 3 DE.

 

Я знаю что все можно было бы сохранить в оригинальном стиле портировав Либерти Сити на GTA VC DE, но я думаю что это займет слишком много времени и на четвертом анриле это будет сложнее чем на оригинал.

 

И как открыть Main.SCM? Sanny Builder ошибку выдает (Неизвестный опкод 2049 по адресу 32717.), я не буду прям весь код с нуля делать.

Wow! I'll definitely start again and do all collectibles. Will you release a PS2 version? PSP version doesn't have enough spacing in the pause menu so I would need to shorten some of the text strings. It would also help me with editing the fonts.

Made an account just to write

10* mod, when i saw it, i started to look after my psp. After a little charge, i was able to try it. Already did 6 missions, the AI voice is nice! So far i didnt meet with any glitches/bugs. 

There will be available soon a cheatspop too? When i tried, it loaded the original cheats to liberty city, but after enabling infinite health and ammo, the game crashes

nah, it is just the patch being big enough so fixing the save is required. sorry for that.

I'll leave a full review once I've finished the game, but I just wanted to point out straight away that I spent half an hour driving around Saint Mark's just looking for the Pimping missions.

 

You could have just said that they were in the alley next to Ammunation, rather than just showing a shot of the most generic-looking garage in Liberty City.
