DODI3OG
So, this is pretty straightforward. There was a topic about videogames we finished, but none otherwise. I was inspired by my conversation with Rajder on that topic On 6/8/2022 at 3:42 PM, Rajder said: It would have been easier to make a list of games that i hadn't finished xD My list would be: My backlog Bioshock 1 Bioshock 2 Tomb Raider reboot SOTR ROTR Shadow of the Colossus GTA VC GTA III Wasn't able to finish these because some asshole deleted my saves. GTA IV, TLAD, TBOGT Finished them on PC, but somehow the FPS reeeeally sucked on PS3 and the controls were awful. SW Battlefront II Space/aerial combat controls really sucked. I swear, GTA V's aerial controls and physics are much better. The story was engaging, but it just took too much disk space. Until Dawn The Last Guardian Controls kind of suck. Grichka Bogdanoff
All Just Cause games. Festival of mediocrity. I'll just play GTA with mods or post-The Third Saints Row games. Mister Pink, icecoldkilla1467 and DODI3OG 2

Badman_
Never finished any Dark Souls/FromSoftware game. As great as they seem to be, they're just not my type.

I also tried Far Cry 5's Lost on Mars and that Vietnam War DLC, but I never finished them due to the repetitiveness. Badman_
Is this The Guy?
My not-completed list is about 10 times longer than my completed list so I’ll just stick to more recent gen games. Far Cry 4 - loved 2 and 3 so I gave this a try and just didn’t feel the same. Dying Light 2 - time will actually tell with this game. I loved the first one so I was hyped for this but so far just hasn’t had the same feel. Maybe I’ll give another try later. Red Dead Redemption 2 - never got into the first one but thought I’d give this a try and it didn’t take. I tried maybe 3 or 4 times to get into it but couldn’t, I’m just not into the whole cowboy theme. Fallout 4 - made it farther than I did fallout 3 but still not far at all. Spider-Man - loved the game but stopped at the scorpion boss fight. Jedi Fallen Order Dragon Age inquisition Metal Gear Phantom pain Uncharted 4 Assassins creed origins

Mexicola9302
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (PC) I skipped that game, and played Skyrim. Some years later i wanted to give Oblivion a try, but it felt so outdated compared to Skyrim, that i just stopped playing it after the first dungeon. I played a lot of Battlefield and other games at the time Oblivion got released, and just wasn't interested in it. I also finished Morrowind, but never Oblivion. Algonquin Assassin
Most of the games I don’t end up finishing are because I’ve picked them up on sale or something. Not necessarily because I think they’re bad. I still have games I bought 4-5 years ago I’ve never played. AkshayKumar and DODI3OG 1

But, there are games I skipped last gen that I got this gen for dirt cheap at around $3-5 each like the Tomb Raider Reboot and Metro 2033. I got Metro 2033 bundled with Last Light and Exodus for $15. It was a total win for me since I've been itching to play these games since 2013. I never bought a game I don't like, but I do have a few "freebies" on my PS Plus library I never ever touched. Mister Pink
I don't finish most of my games. I burn out pretty quickly on games. I much prefer that new feel of being somewhere 15+ hours into a game and it's the best thing at that time. When I hit the 50hr mark, I get bored. I put it down and then don't pick it up unless it's a from a series/game I love like RDR, Fallout etc. Then, I can put it down for months and come back to it and I get that fresh feeling again. It took me about 3-4 years on and off to complete Ghost Recon: Wildland's story. It took me about 2 years to complete RDR2. Even then I only got to 86% but it took about 2 years for on/off for me to 100% the story. Probably the same with Fallout 4. I don't think I completed it until 2017 or 2018. I don't like to rush through stories but maybe I should. I should probably try finish the game while it's still hot and in that 50hr window. Anyway, it leaves me with big backlogs. Not that the games are sh*t, they are great. Algonquin Assassin and AkshayKumar 2 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿
Jabalous
The idea of a computer games backlog is weird to me. I think it's a symptom of mindless consumerism, which I, fortunately, don't engage in. DODI3OG

TBH, I was supposed to get the games in my backlog way back 2013. The only reason why they're in my backlog is that I got them dirt cheap (consumerism). I kind of regret playing even their remastered versions since the controls are now clunky to my standards. I'm just plowing through their story to get to the final game in their trilogy. Ondr4H
Two games that I never finished and probably never will be is La Noire and Red Ded Redemption 2 . La Noire, is just not my cup of tea. Sometimes feel like budget game, weird story moments... RDR2 i spend 45 hours in it and I barely get past chapter 2 . This game is full of micromanaging so It give it up...I love animals, but riding horse across map for everything is over the top. Im not mentioning really strict mission layout. This game is best game I ever played, but also worst... Its definitely mixed bag for me... DODI3OG

I think it's a symptom of mindless consumerism, which I, fortunately, don't engage in. Or one might just enjoy exploring new worlds and there is a shelve life for the magical feeling you get exploring a new map. After about 50 hours, hearing the same sound effects, same music, and repeating visuals can get tiresome. And some people are very genre-specific. Personally, I love variety. And to sound cliche, it's not really about the destination, it's about the journey. I don't need to finish a game to have enjoyed the preceding 50hrs. I can play an Assassin's Creed game and really enjoy it for what it was for 50-70 hours and not finish it and not really feel bad about not finishing it. After about 20 hours the actual return of new things you'll see in a game greatly diminishes. After about 20hrs you'll see everything the game has to offer, mostly. It could be "mindless consumerism" too but it's hardly mindless if one knows precisely what they are doing and the inevitable outcome. I have many other hobbies and interests from photography to video and music production and travelling, so not completing games isn't all bad. In the end, games are a luxury, and they don't contribute to skills I can use for work and I can't get paid for gaming unlike my other interests. Gaming is an absolute luxury. And it's only afforded to me when I've done enough productive things in other areas of my life. Otherwise, I can't enjoy gaming when it leaves me with nothing to show for it. With some context, can you see how backlogs may not just be caused by "mindless consumerism?" DODI3OG 1 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

I see no issue in buying a game, playing part of it and then put on the shelf to maybe get back to it later like you do. What I'm referring to is the act of buying a game, putting it on the shelf to maybe start playing it at some point in the future, but then that never happens. Maybe people do it for other reasons (e.g. collections), but in my view, that's mindless consumerism. Collections are usually things that maintain their monetary and artistic value, or even increase in value over time. Games on Blu-ray discs won't. The Artist
- AC Odyssey - just too long and gets repetitive after a while. Story and atmosphere weren't as good as Origins - Watch Dogs 2 - was actually enjoying this at first but the story didn't really engage me. Will try it again sometime - Witcher 3 - tried multiple times just couldn't get into it - Mafia 3 - good story but gets very repetitive after some time - Forza Horizon 4 - just felt bland after a while. The map got boring fast - Far Cry 4 - just didn't like it Mister Pink

I'm into cowboy stuff, but sadly RDR 1 was not that magnificent for me. There was barely anything to do, even though activities were straightforward and I was rewarded accordingly with outfits. The story was engaging, but like most R* games, there was nothing to do after everything is said and done and there was barely any incentive to replay since there was no New Game+. I wanted to play RDR2 the moment it came out, but I'm kind of inclined to wait for a 60fps patch since that's the minimum requirement for me nowadays when it comes to "playability". A friend of mine loves that game, though and she still plays the story over and over again.
