ChiroVette
I mean, wow, seriously! While Take2 has been involved in aggressive, unwarranted litigation against modders essentially doing Rockstar's work for them, these modders still manage to come up with AMAZING sh*t, despite the threat of C&D Orders, summonses, angry letters from lawyers, and even lawsuit threats. As the IGN reporter notes, "Move aside, Rockstar, as someone has revamped GTA: Vice City in Unreal Engine 5; and honestly? It's what it should have looked like..." I mean, this is IGN saying this, not some disgruntled blogger with 100 readers. Jeeze, take a f*cking clue, Rockstar! GhettoJesus
It looks good but it's always funny to see the hyperrealistic cars and buildings next to the character models that have been merely upscaled and slightly retouches. And while I understand that this has never been the goal of the remasters I gotta say, this is what it should have been. Either this or a simple upscale. Kudos to the creator, this is amazing. First off, I don’t think that’s the final product. And even if it is, let’s be completely honest, and say that modders don’t have access to the complete coding of the game, the way that rockstar and GSG does. I would imagine, though I could be completely wrong, that even if this is the finished product, modders are going to essentially be very limited in terms of the things they can and cannot change, with regard to the actual code of the game. If I had to guess, we would see truly spectacular, and absolutely amazing things come from the modding community if these games were open source! Now that would be something to see.
