Chazza354 Posted May 26 Share Posted May 26 Super weird, I had an urge to start a playthrough today, even though I’m busy with RDR2/SA playthroughs.. a couple of hours in I pulled out my phone and bam, this news breaks. RIP, this one hit me hard. I’ve been starting to prepare myself to lose the older guys like Pacino (mf is in his 80s now), but losing Ray completely blindsided me. Henry Hill (Goodfellas), Roy DeMeo (The Iceman), Markie Trattman (Killing Them Softly), Aldo Moltisanti (Many Saints Of Newark), Gary Figgis (Copland), Detective Deluca (The Place Beyond the Pines). I would recommend any of these movies to watch, Ray steals the spotlight in every one of them. Rest in Peace, Harwood Butcher. I think I'll boot up Vice City for old times sake... I grew up with Vice City and Goodfellas respectively. This one comes as quite a loss. R.I.P. diperro Posted May 27 Share Posted May 27 (edited) I bought Vice City for Android to replay it last week but my phone died. I just got a new one tho so I'm playing the sh*t out of it tonight! I've had a huge loss recently and Ray's passing makes me revisit the thought of how fragile life is. We never know when we'll be gone, but what we do with life and what we are will remain here somehow. Rest in peace legend, your legacy will live on. Most badass cutthroat protagonist. I played some more after hearing the news last night and it was bittersweet. Fallon: “Do you have a favourite line from the game?” Liotta, awkwardly: “Uh, I don’t know…’kill the hooker’?” An absolute legend for that. ChiroVette Posted May 27 Share Posted May 27 Ray Liota was one of those actors that even if I didn't like a particular movie he was in, I loved his part in it and his acting. Goodfellas is classic! Right up there with Godfather 1 and 2 and Donny Brasco. Liotta was one hell of a talent, and obviously his work in Vice City was amazing. It's going to be hard to play that game again next time I want to start a playthrough. Even though I identify myself as a hardcore GTA IV fan Vice City was my first true love of the series and most of that was because of Ray Liotta’s exceptional characterisation of Tommy. That voice, that charm will never be replicated. Like most I’m a fan of Goodfellas, but also his other work like Cop Land and Blow. Normally celebrity deaths don’t phase me too much, but this has punched me hard. I’m not sure what else to say. R.I.P buddy. Your star will be hovering above in the heavens looking down on us.
