Please read the red warning linked above in this section about ScriptHook V. Alex Blade lives in Ukraine which will, for obvious reasons, also delay updates more than usual. Given the potential for Rockstar to do more of these useless (for single-player mode) minor updates over the next few months, it's probably wise to look into a way to downgrade if you want to keep playing with mods. As it currently stands, ScriptHookV won't work online because there is code in there to prevent it from doing so. If it went OpenSource, I can guarantee 100% that within an hour of the code being available, there would be a build without that restriction. Alexander Blade is part of the OpenIV team and if he was seen to be making available a way for people to cheat online, then it would give Take-Two and Rockstar all the ammunation to finish what they started years ago when they tried to shut OpenIV down. Even if he didn't push out the build, that build wouldn't have happened without the code being open source. You have to remember, there are plenty of people who don't give a damn about the modding community and if they could get something that would let them cheat online by their own hands, they would take it. That was evident by the fact that when Take-Two and Rockstar issued the guidelines about the use of their IP, people continued to upload content that ignored that guideline. The Liberty City mod is enough proof of that. 5 minutes of glory > the integrity of the modding community to some people. Plus given the state of GTA Online with its hacker/cheater/modder problem, there are also plenty of people that would do it in order to get modding shut down completely, because they think all modding is equally evil. I agree with this 100% but i just think their should be more then 1 person in charge of this program. So that way when one person is busy and don't have time to update like what's going on now someone else can do the update and keep the game running. When the previous update dropped and he asked for the files to be uploaded, I suggested to Alex that he might consider finding someone he can trust to take over the role for a while but if the only people he can trust live in the same place as him, then they will face the same situation. If there is no internet, then there is no way they can upload anything or download the new files to work on. I mean some other people were trying to make an open source hook but the project died years ago. The chance was there for people to create an alternate option and nobody took it. I suspect nobody wanted the burden of having to update it every time the game updated and dealing with the grief from people demanding it be update immediately after the update dropped. The source code for that is still online but as the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water etc...
