I wish they made some kind of open world Nintendo game

Whenever I think about certain Nintendo games, I just wonder how much fun it could be if we had a game where we did play as Mario, but have the world be large like Breath of the wild. different biomes and kingdoms. villages, npcs doing their things, etc. different power ups to have fun with, means of travel by karts, aircrafts, other entities like yoshi or a wiggler train

 

i just feel like it'd be awesome if you could walk around a full mushroom kingdom as mario, where you can visit shops, restaurants to replenish health or stock up on items. outside of the kingdom would be green fields, basic enemies, hidden secrets. other biomes include desert, snow, lava etc. you could could visit the hyrule castle, find link just tending to his business in there, giving you a quest perhaps. you can freely explore the castle. same with a haunted mansion in a haunted part of the world, where ghostly enemies are scattered around and such.

 

i don't know. it's hard to explain what i really envision here and how it would work exactly. i loved breath of the wild. i just want a mario version

We managed to get a Mario X-Com clone, never say never.

Maybe after Odyssey 2 they might change direction

mario x-com? can't say i ever heard about that

 

lol, odyssey 2 is not even a guarantee at this point still. but if they were to make odyssey 2, i really hope it's bigger than odyssey. a lot of kingdoms were really small. they should do less of those little puzzles areas and build onto the actual level itself more. man, we didn't even have a proper ghost kingdom in odyssey...

I'd like a Pokemon RPG where you can have the option of various playstyles, like a Pokemon Ranger, A Pokedex completionist(where you'll have to do tasks to capture Pokemon similar to the tasks in Pokemon Arceus), PokeAthlon focused trainers, Pokemon Contests focused trainers etc and full fledged questlines for each playstyle, though the main quest would probably still be taking on the gyms and Elite four but we're able to avoid the main questline if we wish

 

You can join factions based on the corresponding playstyles like PokeAthletes or Rangers factions for example, maybe the Pokemon Fan club could be a joinable faction too. And definitely be able to join the evil team of that region and start smuggling Pokemon and stuff. 

 

Towns and cities will be way bigger than just a small cluster of buildings. Have us be able to challenge gyms in any order more or less. 

 

This is a random wish list more than anything, and Pokemon is more GameFreaks property but a full fledged open world Pokemon RPG would be fun imo

that would be interesting to see. i myself am not into pokemon games, but this approach might give me a little more incentive to try. they do seem to try and make the worlds more open, but to me they feel so lackluster still and limited

I'm talking about the Mario + Rabbids game

It's very very fun, you should give it a try. It's getting a sequel too, releasing later this year.

 

Yeah, not necessairly Odyssey 2 but their next 3D adventure game. They seem to be experimenting alot with the IP lately, which is why I believe we could end up seeing a proper open world with different biomes, levels, kingdoms, playable characters etc. sooner rather than later

and it's going to be f*cking awesome

oooh yeh, that game. it's kinda a strategy game right? i'm not quite into that...

 

but that is true, they do experiment a lot, and we're always given something new which is fun. they better make it standard that luigi can be playable in games like odyssey. but we haven't heard anything on a new 3D mario game. of course covid had an impact, but this october it will have been 5 years since odyssey
