Failed Again
most will know Akira Kurosawa. But Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman, had 25 films in the series. amazing Special note. Never gamble against this guy, Never Beat' Takeshi Kitano revived the role in the early 2000's and he was very good too. Mister Pink
I will never forget seeing in the cinema the 2003 Zatoichi ending scene, dancing. I was just a teen with time to kill and knew nothing of cinema or Japanese films. I still didn't know Zatoichi was a series of films until recently. It's rare I'll remember specific scenes from experiences in the theatre/cinema but this was one. Failed Again
This version ABOVE 2003 was really a special homage to the original. The dance scene was amazing. Glad you brought that up/ Dance, gambling and slapstick all important elements of the genre When you view, and think about the original Ichi Movies, no steady cams and high-tech wire word. Look at the amazing chorography in (Freaking Fast) the fight scenes. With eyes closed//lol Kurosawa, was the master cinematographer, and had Toshiro Mifune (三船 敏郎, Mifune Toshirō, April 1, 1920 – December 24, 1997) was a Japanese actor who appeared in over 150 feature films. Films by Kurosawa, are mostly known to western audiences So I like to draw attention to some other works ie (Zatoichi) I am very glad to have been introduced Japanese cinema in my Wonder Years Each weekend they played classic Samurai and Chinese style (think Crouching Tiger) films in my local theater. Zatoichi, films may have been over shadowed by A Kurosawa - Yet they remain some of my Favorites Edited June 3 by Failed Again Mister Pink
