This is likely gonna be the Steam sub/"licence" that's gonna grant you the new version if you own the old one, it was made yesterday: https://steamdb.info/sub/1251933/history/

No info there, so.

Out of curiosity how do we know it's this one? I know there are ways but I'm curious what are those lol

It's in the recently pushed Launcher code to support the new versions.

They're gonna add the new app to all the old packages, same as how they removed the EFLC app from all the packages that had it and replaced it with GTA IV app, when it was updated to CE.

Can I install GTAV Legacy and Enhanced at once? :starekek:

Yes. That is the point and R* says so too :) They are different titles as far as the R* services are concerned too: gta5 vs. gta5_gen9

The way I said it is also valid and is how some other companies have done it. There is a new package created yesterday associated with the Gen9 app, so we'll see. Doesn't really matter how they do it on a technical sense anyway

Do you guys think we will get HDR as well ?

Seems like a given IMO.

I take it we'll have to install the enhanced version then probably launch it once in order to migrate the legacy progress on it. Then once that's all said and done, the legacy version can be uninstalled to make space.

And some people said we had to ready our wallets. Oh boy.

Of course this happens while I was busy, will digest it soon.

Well I'm one of those whose kinda pessimistic about this going free but hey I'm glad I'm wrong hahahah yes free!!!

Where did the new Steam AppID and SubID even come from? Were they leaked via RGL again?

Yes, as I mentioned in my post, R* pushed the scripts to handle the new versions in the Launcher. This time it's not quite a leak I guess, it's just prep for two weeks from now.

Good to know DirectStorage support is in, also where Vulkan?

You'll be fine with DX12 :p I'm assuming it'll be DX11 and 12, unless Vulkan support is just not advertised.

Well I am using Windows 11 so its alright but I do know Vulkan should be there too as an option, and then I suddenly remember that even RDR 1 remaster is only using dx12 too.

Well, RDR2 did have Vulkan support, so...

Yeah, it could be one of those things that's not worth putting in an article I guess. We only have two weeks to wait now lmao.
