And this, yeah, if it was paid it would be extremely fragmented. It was the right decision.

They can also get people to sign up for GTA+ without spending money on an upgrade first.

Nothing on steam yet but the launcher is already showing Grand Theft Auto V Legacy as per screenshot above.

Yes I am assuming they will be separate apps. You just get access to the new one, by owning the previous.

Woah, retroactively granting the old owners access to the new version for free, while also letting new buyers play the Gen8 version is actually pretty cool. Really wish they did the same with DE, at least partially. Maybe not give DE to the old owners, but bundle OG with DE. I think 2K did that with the Bioshock remasters.

I think the EA Play subscription is a thing on Steam, so theoretically RG could set up GTA+ there as well.

Yeah but Rockstar has moved away from Steam a bit in their time, RDR2 didn't come out on Steam on the first day, GTA trilogy too

- So what I mean is that the benefits of free games from GTA+ can only be available on RGL

Imagine the migrate option also includes going from consoles gen9 to PC gen9? That would be pretty good, and also pretty unlikely

Launcher strings to handle both versions have been added:

    "title_name_gta5_gen9": "Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced",
    "Settings_Uninstall_Confirmation_GTAV": "Are you sure you want to uninstall Grand Theft Auto V Legacy? If you uninstall Grand Theft Auto V Legacy, you will not be able to migrate your story mode progress from GTAV Legacy to GTAV Enhanced without reinstalling.",

Just assume they won't, at least not right away anyways.

I would imagine trainers to be the first thing that gets support for this new version of the game.

Since the old version is just going on maintenance mode it would be pretty easy to support. It's arguably the best time ever to support the original version because you don't have to worry about the game getting updated and breaking a bunch of mods ever again.

Finally, after 3 years of waiting. We have been dreaming forever for this day to come. And ofc it was gonna be free on PC. No way, they were ever gonna be able to justify this as a paid upgrade on literally the same device...

 

I remember the early days when @Crateman was leading our cause with resilience when the non believers and console guys were ridiculing us
