Sigh give is e and e you cowards already!!!

You nuked Linux support for a subpar anti cheat to protect your income and you still haven't added e and e.

If I had to take a guess, I would say E&E PC is going to land with part 2 (McKenzie Airfield stuff) of this DLC.

Idk why but I feel like they'll release all dripfeed first and in the window between last dripfeed piece and Summer DLC they'll push E&E.

Surely Summer DLC will be the last one, right? Unless GTA VI slips from Fall 2025 to 2026.

I feel the same...

Would be better this way too, a propper solo release :harrumph:

Hard to say but I feel like we'll receive a couple of DLCs in future. I remember there were posts about some kind of missions creator Rockstar were working on so probably it will keep GTA Online alive with user made missions (DWOM!!!) when DLCs release will be over.

Not really something for this thread but it depends on when the new GTAO releases. My theory is that it'll be a wholly separate experience, merely based in GTA VI code, rather than attached to GTA VI, so if it launches later than VI SP, we could have quite a few normal GTA V online DLC's still.

They'll likely still launch some QoL patches and so on, because GTA V Online isn't gonna die any time soon even after VI, so...

If you were wondering how Rockstar will do the transition in terms of saves, we may have a clue based off what they've added to the executable.

Basically, they added PC to ALLOW_EXPORT_OF_SP_SAVEGAMES thus all save migration functions appeared within the executable. One of which uses this file for localization. Save migration was only available on PS4/X1, since that's where you migrate your save data from. Now, it's gonna apply to PC soon.

So we will migrate our saves from PC Gen8 to PC Gen9, the same way as we do on consoles. If it plays out exactly like the consoles, then we would probably have to buy the game a second time.

Basically, they added a function to process this file that handles save migration, but for PC. This file only exists on PS4 & Xbox One, because that's where you migrate your save to new consoles.

Wait... I have to buy gta 6 on a gimped console just to transfer to pc of gta 6?

Oh boy....watch they will give console bonuses for being a day 1 player.

It's a shame there's no way to transfer PC accounts to console, but I do understand the reasoning. Still, I wonder if that means I could request to Rockstar Support to perhaps grant me various unlocks (eg clothing) that I unlocked legitimately on PC, to be able to have on my PS5 account...? Hmm.

Yeah, I figured it'd be the same way as consoles. It's going to be a different app and I believe there's some changes to save data due to the additional features and so on, so... The file you linked has all the localisation for the save migration process, so I guess at some point it'll be available on pcros.

I suppose this confirms it's coming between now and June :lmaokek:

I still hope for a consoles to PC migration. Eh, I'm too lazy to do everything again...

hah so much for them not wanting to "divide the community" i believe thats the excuse they gave for not releasing singleplayer dlc a decade ago from what i remember. Anyway i will probably buy it because ive been wanting the rt features since they came out on current gen but i hope this wont delete our character from gen 8 versions, as many people (most people) probably wont pay again to play online that has one more MAYBE TWO MORE lackluster updates before VI is out

I don't know if someone already saw this, When I was doing one these new jobs final I enter on the new unreleased Firebold ASP I saw is license Plate..

It might be nothing But..... I got this strange feeling it might be some date?  March 4. Maybe the release date E&E for pc?

Is there a slim chance to have a cross-save option from console to PC in the end?

That'll be a good way to 'preserve' our vehicles and unlocks when they pull the plug, if there's a GTA 'Offline' option in the future.

Interesting find...

So we can expect a similar procedure as we seen on consoles back in 2022...

This almost confirms that it Will cost $, hopefully similar price as consoles for returning players $9.99.

We have to wait for more info still...

I wonder if this means gen8/gen9 to PC rather than current PC to the new build...

I am poorly informed on the specifics, my assumption is there isn't a whole lot of difference between the save files and what they contain, the migration process is only there to allow cross platform switches, like PS4 to Xbox Series X for example.

They made pc players wait for couple of years for E&E, i think at this point they shouldn't charge pc players to buy gen9 version again, thats really dumb imo

If they would have brought E&E on pc alongside ps5 and xbox series X few years back then it would have made more sense....

The game builds themselves have a fair few differences. The save migration feature being added to this PC build is definitely so you can migrate from "legacy"/"gen8" PC build to the Gen9 PC build which we already know is going to be a separate install, so...

A PC player buying GTAV/O again?

Didnt Steam refund Linux guys because BattleEye didnt see Eye-to-Eye with Linux? So, in that case EGS people, like myself, would be the only sufferers.

The migration is from current PC to a newer platform, PC Gen9. We don't know whether they will allow you to migrate to PS5/XSX too.

What's new about the above is them adding the SP save transfers, which I believe was added with E&E on consoles. MP migration functions already exist. It's all to allow you to move your SP save from PC Gen8 to PC Gen9, but MP migration is already there. So R* may use it as well. MP saves are the same. Gen9 stats are excluded via a flag. I've seen some Gen9 packed stats within Gen8 scripts.

If PC Gen9 is a free upgrade, R* could have you load your stats there. If it isn't, MP migration.

Because those players are truly unable to play the game, it's not the same situation. If PC Gen9 is released and you can continue playing on PC Gen8, Steam isn't obliged to refund you.
