Therefore, I think PC will not get new graphics, but only new content.

Why not? Graphic elements can be added to Graphics and Advanced Graphics settings. Who needs them, will turn those settings on.

I agree with this, You cannot argument that Rockstar Will not Release E&E because some guy on an Laptop Will have trouble to run the Game.

Not everything is so simple. It's not just your/my graphics settings. In the E&E version, the outside world has been changed, which we should see the same in one session. Otherwise, it will lead to out of sync.

But yet, if it's a E&E port, they'll manage Graphics settings for PC version for sure, maybe slightly will increase system requirements.

Anyway weak systems struggle running current GTA 5, I've noticed this on my old PC after April patch (E&E stub files were added).

While DLSS, FSR and XeSS can all be added (although I would argue that they're not really needed here), GTA V E&E is basically the PC version with maxed settings. What would you add? Ray Tracing? For that you'd need to run the game in DX12 or Vulkan, GTA V is a DX10-DX11 game so I don't think it'd be that simple.

GTA Online is a mess because modern CPUs aren't used to their full potential, and as we all know the code is probably an unoptimized mess. Singleplayer on the other hand is still performing the same and even a potato can now run it at 720p/1080p at 30 FPS.

CDPR updated old Witcher 3, so I guess it's possible to do the same to GTA 5, isn't it?

I was running GTA 5 on i3-6300, 8 GB, GTX 950 before, after April patch I had to step back with some settings because PC was struggling. Got a new rig last summer (i5-10400, 16 GB, RX 580 (temp.)), GTA 5 runs perfectly.

I'm not saying it's impossible (because it's not), it just requires time and effort that could probably be put to something else (like GTA VI).

The i3-6300 is a 7 year-old dual core CPU, I'm not surprised you were struggling (especially in GTA Online). The GTX 950 on the other hand can easily run the game, hell I was even able to run it on a GTX 650 with 1GB of VRAM at 1080p when GTA V came out on PC :)

Ray Tracing is the main thing that E&E brings to the table, a feature that a relatively small portion of people can turn on. You have a RX 580, your card uses software Ray Tracing which is incredibly slow, but even with hardware acceleration it could be a challenge for many graphics card... I have a RTX 2060 for example, I've never enabled Ray Tracing in any game because it'd be a slideshow and I think AMD RDNA 1 (and 2) owners probably do the same.

It's not like they'd have to ditch low settings and DX11 support by adding DX12, ray tracing and so on. I don't understand some of the argumentation here whatsoever. Their new SGA rendering stack still has DX11 support, in fact RDR2 was gonna have it, it was just cut probably because they preferred to support the modern stuff (Vulkan and DX12) in such a modern game.

Most devices out there, including older PC's, support DX12 or the DX feature set required for DX12, it could help a lot with weaker CPU's due to how it works at a 'lower level'. No disadvantages I see here in that specific regard.

Yea, I was surprised it could run game well (but still started struggling after April patch), anyway I was going to upgrade ;)

Willing to get RTX 3060 in future.

Well, who knows, maybe they'll do something between this.

My argument is that, other than ray tracing, for most people out there the current PC version has basically everything that E&E offers. I wasn't sure if their new SGA stack supported DX11, but as you said there are so many GPUs out there that support DX12 or Vulkan and recent low-end PCs / laptops would only benefit from such an upgrade... And it'd be a massive one also for Linux and Steam Deck users!

I also don't necessarily think it'd require much time to make a Gen9-PC port, it's having to deal with 2 versions that could possibly be the dealbreaker for them. People would probably be confused with 2 different PC versions and I guess that those with limited space on their drives will have to choose between a friendly FIveM / modding version and the one where GTA Online is supported. And security updates could still be needed on the legacy version from time to time...

Of course I do hope to see it one day as I'd be very interested in having Vulkan support and those few physics things tied to FPS fixed, it's just that I don't really see it happening anytime soon.

Would be good to see E&E content at least (Career Builder for new players, standalone version of GTA Online, Online mode untied from Story (requiring to complete Prologue), new main menu (RDR 2 style), Hao's Special Works, etc.), that's strange we've only got ability to change type of lobby right in game.

This was probably planned for all platforms as it was also introduced to the last generation consoles.

Lol? PC and last gen are still missing Hao's stuff and a bunch of other things from E&E. Get your facts straight.

I meant the type of lobby change, that can be done on all platforms.

Calm down, I am talking about the feature mentioned at the end of the post, which was the lobby change.

Yes, it was thought of as being exclusive to the new consoles back in March, like some sort of a unique feature for these platforms, but they later introduced them to the remaining ones in the following update, so it was planned for all, probably one of those QoL features that slipped and made its way into the builds we got in March before the rest got it.

It's lame, I was on PC this morning and I was imagining how cool it would be to have RT AND not being locked to 30fps, would be pretty sweet.

Rockstar should really stop this crap from dragging too long and give PC the stuff.

Indeed.

Why can't they say:

1) "E&E content is not coming to PC." I'd say "Ok." to that and stop dreaming.

2) "E&E will arrive on PC in future."

Their silence pisses off, really.

I'd question the first one, or I'd laugh at their reasoning, because I am unable to think of a logical reason why it can be made available on PC.

I also know it's been suggested that they're taking still working on it or taking the delivery method in consideration as well as other things, I find all of that hard to believe, it's freaking Rockstar we're talking about, they're not some newcomers just making their first steps into the industry, they're professionals.

They are cosplaying Claude from GTA 3 very well!

doesnt make sense why they would add the new visuals to pc, especially considering pc has always been the place for cutting edge graphics/performance, makes no sense to have these enhancements on a console but not a pc. besides i dont see how slightly raising the minimum requirements is a big issue, who is really playing gta consistently on integrated graphics or on a 15 year old 9800GT? i think the ray tracing is the main thing i look forward to in e&e for pc especially now that they added rt reflection, that actually makes a massive visual improvement.

At first I wasn't interested in this content arriving on PC because I already have it on my PS5, but having RT reflections (or maybe other disabled settings) on PC and at a high FPS would actually make the experience quite special and interesting, the Fidelity mode on consoles, while looking brilliant, is a little annoying to play in 30fps.

I stated before that I am not one of those fps demanders but I now play this game on PC at a very high FPS and going back and forth is jarring.

The specs should've already been adjusted regardless of graphical improvements tbh, the game no longer runs the same way it did when it released in 2015 due to all the content. They do have a disclaimer about it, and have had since day one, that requirements would go up as content updates are released, but they were never really updated.

i tried the game out on PS5 and forgot how choppy the game was at 30fps, it literally feels like 20 or less

E&E graphics will look even worse in places

doubt it, they'll make all the new eye candy optional/another notch above the current ones

so the current max settings for effects and reflections just do the same as they do in E&E

and you can choose to enable the new effects and texture quality (if there is another level besides 'improvements' of select texture res)

my GTX560 died before I had a chance to run gtav on it, but i believe it would've ran fine

I did make do with a GT730 at 630p tho (I did have a quad core cpu, so that put some pressure off the gpu no doubt)

plus, my 2014 laptop (still) runs gtav better than the (g8) consoles ever did

I noticed this, I can easily switch between 30 and 60 in Horizon, this one is not, there might be some frame pacing issue in there maybe? I don't know, it feels less than 25 at times.

I don't have PS5, but on PS4 the game also feels choppy at 30 fps, even in single player, on the other hand RDR2 feels much more smooth on PS4.

Perhaps because there is ZERO motion-blur in GTA V on consoles?

Maybe that? I have noo idea but it feels choppy, I'd like to use it in an invite-only lobby or when I am just cruising around but it's jarring to use at times.

Compared to other games anyway.
