GTA V "E&E" PC Version Discussion

The new Launcher update (and the remote Launcher JS file) removed the CESP package from the store. No need for a CESP if you have a Career Builder as it pretty much replaces it.

Tbh i don't care about vulkan, it's good it could be coming for those who might see some bigger benefit. I'm more interested whether pc players would have to pay for privilege of waiting since march while it was released for consoles. They probably gonna use vulkan, rt and other graphical and engine improvements as justification to charge pc players for something that console players had access to for months and i wouldn't be surprised if it comes with the full price tag, $20 for online and $40 for full game.

What's there to explain? The Criminal Enterprises Starter pack was an edition of the game you could buy and gave you an office, money, cars, etc on PC and last gen. It's not available in "E&E" because of the existence of the Career Builder and now it's being removed from the PC store.

 

Nothing to do with Vulkans or whatever, where the hell did that come from?

i wonder if this means we'll get an announcement soon. i assume they'd have to notify players in advance like how they announced stopping shark card sales (and implementing refunds for those who want them) before gen7 shutdown? since e&e for pc is likely to just be an update instead of a full re-release, that would mean they'd be removing content that you paid for and it probably wouldn't be cool for those who bought it only to lose it for example a day later.

Is it possible that they are changing the pack? Since the career builder basically gives you the stuff it would make sense to give the people who have this pack extra things to start with, so for example if you can only choose one car, they can choose 2 or 3 instead.

I'm assuming current owners won't be affected in any way, just new people wouldn't be able to buy it.

Those who already have it likely won't use the Career Builder anyway, but if they wish to reset their character I suppose some bonuses would be nice especially as they would've paid to get more, yeah.

You assume correctly. All of the stuff from the pack is still free on my account.

Yeah the only thing that was removed from the launcher code was the ability to buy it.

Yesterday's launcher update was built on Monday, July 25. A day prior to the Criminal Enterprises update release.

 

Rockstar recently built a tendency to release launcher updates a month after working on them.

 

They likely planned to remove the CESP option from the store during the update release time window, but the launcher update took a bit longer? @Spider-Vice

 

So not exactly a hint that something is supposed to happen in the very near future, but more so a hint that the December update could introduce the Gen9 content to the PC version.

I don’t know how they operate from GTAO on PC, it’s full of hackers that they don’t need to sell shark card, I think it’s better for them if they just dropped the support on PC.

Hmm you can still buy Premium edition which lists the pack though. Or buy standalone pack on steam/ingame/overlay. For me it's 29.99EUR ingame though, but probably they are forcing full game purchase there.

What's more interesting, in addition to the HSW stats being added to the PC files, is that a new flag was applied to various existing stats. But it was more hand-picked than randomly chosen.

The flag is probably hashed since Rockstar is aware of us dataminers. For all we know, this could either be anti-cheat related or a new feature planned for the December update.

If this is indeed AC related, how effective is stat checking in regards to catching cheaters since players can modify stats to make the account appear "legit"

 

Could it be that perhaps they added the flag in order to catch players trying to modify these stats?

I noticed this at the time too but didn't think much of it. I wonder if it's already used for something.

Hm, if they have removed CESP, that's for something, for sure.

Huh? No. And there would be no reason for that either than to, in a petty fashion, say f*ck you to hackers. There are PCs that run this game way better than any Series X or PS5. It would be insane and idiotic to drop support. The only reason we don't have this content yet is because Rockstar knew it would sell more XS/PS5 copies if they pulled the exclusive content card.

Well as long as Rockstar repair the frame-drops and general graphical gremlins introduced with 'The Criminal Enterprises' before they pile anything else on top of the spaghetti code, that'll be fine.

Wait, didn't they remove CESP on purpose that GTA is being sold with CESP together?

Or maybe they removed it because some stuff in Career Builder includes CESP content to avoid free items?

It's still available on Steam (oddly) so it's not the first option. The second option is more likely, if PC gets the Career Builder as part of the "E&E" stuff being added, then the CESP would be obsolete because the CESP basically gives you the same/similar as the CEO Career Builder option.

But Career Builder is a one time thing, with it's intro where character walks out the police station, right? And if you create 2nd character, is there old intro or was it totally removed from E&E?

That keeps happening to a bunch of games, as you can see it sometimes says "affected XXX other apps". Just a Steam API quirk.
