The later this drops the better and that might indicate them putting the work in. PC has some pretty significant issues and it would be beneficial for their new schtick (the worthless subscription service) to fix the game up properly. And whatever you might think on how lazy E&E is it's pretty evident that there was some effort put into that port, it's essentially an updated codebase and "updated" is what PC needs too.

 

They should at least ship a new API in DX12 or Vulkan, separate the single player and online clients and do something major against modding when it comes to the online client.

Because the game is peer to peer based. they can't do anything against modding, but i agree about the DX12 and Vulkan part.

 

And imagine how awesome it would be, if the Self Radio would use another core/thread than it currently does, i hope they make it spread the work across several cpu cores, currently it just maxes out one core.

 

Self Radio makes my 360mm watercooler (ASUS Ryujin) go into vacuum cleaner 100% mode.

I don't think that's true. Sure, peer to peer sucks but if story mode and online would be separate then that would open them new ways in locking down the online portion. For example they could ban more aggressively for sure but there are other methods they could apply more freely too. This is going to be a weird example but like if they released a client side update every single day then modding would cease to exist, no matter the game's peer to peer nature.

Yes, modding in story mode for a legal copy of a game would stop as it works now. Cheating in online? Nope. Those cheat menus barely get affected by client updates, they don't work like sp mods.

It seems to me they can mark articles for publishing on the Launcher. Someone likely made a mistake and put the GTA+ article there. PC doesn't have GTA+ or any text entries for it, despite having most other "E&E" things now, so I don't think it's coming and it seems like a mistake that it's showing.

Idk what you're trying to get at, but that's irrelevant especially for something that's already half done (it's on console and there's native PC support in the new renderer anyway). Also, motivated devs working in better conditions can do things a lot faster than devs who are being enslaved. :)

It's definitely coming to PC, tho. Whether we like it not. Some of the GTA+ job descriptions from a few months back indicated they'd be supporting the PC market. December is seeming more likely for a release if they intend to discontinue support for last-gen.

Eh, at this point I don't think it is coming at all. But if it does there's no way in hell I would pay for it. Especially with GTA 6 around the corner.

The flag should tell you everything you need to know though. Some data is just the same among all branches of the game, that flag makes it so it's only used by the gen9 builds. The PS4 and Xbox One stats data files probably also have that, it's just unused.

 

I do think it's coming to PC as I've said many times before but I'm not sure it's an indicator. :p

so does this mean that if lets say they add HSW and e&e as a whole to pc that the "exclusives" like the arbiter gt, cyclone 2, s95 etc. will not be on PC or blocked without the use of mods?

No, PC would become "Gen9" too, like PC atm is "ng" (the name R* used for the last gen consoles). At least I hope they don't just half-upgrade PC and leave console exclusive content. :p

I very much doubt getting RTX reflections, at least not to the extent that people imagine them to be, this game is way too complex for such thing.

 

Now, had there been some sort of bareboned, very simple, very limited raytraced reflection implemented on console, I'd say there would he a chance, but I don't think so.

 

I think the reference to it is them just merely upgrading RAGE to support this feature, probably for the next title.

Really hope Rockstar is pushing the PC update back in order to address the problems going on with players cheating in the game and harassing other people like content creators. Would be even cooler if they plan to implement NVIDIA DLSS and FSR 2.0 support.

 

It's also very important for Rockstar to separate E&E and the current PC versions to make sure the new version doesn't interfere years of modding work from creators. As Spider-Vice has said many, many times, Rockstar has changed the game's renderer, thus changing the internal game formats with a hybrid of RDR2's and GTAV's code. This would instantly break every mod, so hopefully they will be very sensible about this.

I very much doubt getting RTX reflections, at least not to the extent that people imagine them to be, this game is way too complex for such thing.

 

Now, had there been some sort of bareboned, very simple, very limited raytraced reflection implemented on console, I'd say there would he a chance, but I don't think so.

 

I think the reference to it is them just merely upgrading RAGE to support this feature, probably for the next title.

well games like cyberpunk and watch dogs legion had ray tracing reflections and they looked great, i dont see why gta 5 cant get them especially if it is in the files already

Yes, that's what I am saying, they had them on consoles too, GTA doesn't, and unless they come back to implement them (doubtful), I don't see them putting them on PC.

i dont think cyberpunk uses rt reflection on console, watch dogs does but not cyberpunk. Plus its already in the game files

I've expected the addition of career builder for rest of the platforms, I think new players must have a "starter pack" nowdays. Does it present in PC files btw?

I was playing Lowrider Envy mission yesterday (on PC), in the end you have to deliver Chino to the lockup (Hao's garage now) and I feel like I've seen graffiti inside which I haven't seen before. Or I may be wrong...
