VCS actually handled this quite well compared to everything that came before and after it. The game has a toggle to show popped balloons and completed stunt jumps/rampages/etc. on the map (at least on the pause menu, I don't remember if it adds them to the in-game radar). It makes going for the collectables less frustrating, although you'll still more than likely need a map if you're aiming for 100%.

Technically, CTW also tracks the collectables and already-found drug dealers on its map, but its done through a cumbersome dropdown list for each category (which is very annoying for the 100 security cameras in particular). RDR2 is similar to VCS in that it adds (and crosses out) collectables that you've found, but unlike the latter, it only tracks the more significant items (e.g. dinosaur bones or rock carvings, but not cigarette cards).

Cigarette cards can be hacked with buying cigarettes again and again. It only cost 1000 dollars to get all of them and them sells leftovers. It definitely better than ride across map like idiot. But buying cigarettes and discharging them in RDR2 menu, is pain too...

CTW is the most underrated GTA ever. Sure some people might say LCS and/or VCS are, but they’re at-least known enough.

Most people forget that CTW is even apart of the HD era.

I roll my eyes anytime someone plays a sad song for GTA V and all the “hate” it gets yet I’m reminded poor little CTW brought at lot of interesting ideas to the series yet gets written off for “bad graphics” and other nonsense.

That's why I hope it gets ported to the Switch someday.

Other than the Switch having sh*tloads of ports in general and how CTW was first released on the DS, it's definitely the perfect console for CTW.

San Andreas is one of the greatest games ever made.

Killing Johnny was a good attempt at Red Wedding style "oh no they didn't" shock factor but ultimately pointless and an Amber Heard sized sh*t on the lost. Bringing back the AOD would make more sense since they're supposed to span multiple states and even other countries.

I'm sure plenty would back me up on this - the worst game design choice in GTA V is protagonists ''living their own lives'' i.e changing clothes at their will and appearing in different places whenever you switch to them. The whole idea of ''a world that lives beyond your control'' is, in my opinion, an inherently failed idea, completely counter-intuitive to video games as a medium. I love the game, but this aspect of it I've grown to loathe over the years.

Its marketing gimmick. These three have around five same spawn point each with variety of dialogues.

They are definitely do not have their own lives, it will be something out of scifi even by today standards.

GTA V's 3 protagonists are one of the best protagonists in video-game history.

Michael De Santa (formerly Michael Townley), Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips are easily one of the best video-game protagonists. You can relate with either one of the 3 characters, e.g., if you're a "hillbilly"/southern USA/patriotic type, it's possible to relate to Trevor's story (How his mother is a drug addict, didn't know his father & grew into a life of crime; which was after he failed his psychiatry report, making him out to be a sociopath mixed with bipolar disorder mixed with many other problems. Trevor was way too unstable to be allowed to pilot an aircraft in the military(maybe air force, I forget). Of course, not many people can relate to the specific details.). Although Trevor isn't my favourite, I still love his character.

Character & who I believe would relate to them

Michael De Santa - Grew up in the suburbs, parents are only together because of their children & fight constantly yet try to hide it.

Franklin Clinton - Grew up in the poorer parts of the city aka the inner cities or ghettos, not living with immediate family, life of crime, strong knit friend group.

Trevor Philips - As previously mentioned, "hillbilly"/southern USA/patriotic type, doesn't know father, only began crime at a later stage of life, drug addicted family member/s.

It's not just the relatability that makes these protagonists so great, it's the chemistry between them that makes them into a great trio, Michael, Franklin & Trevor all have such different personalities yet they click with each other perfectly.

In my opinion, Franklin by far is my favourite character, Trevor coming second, and Michael coming last.

I relate to Franklin because for a large portion of my life I've lived in the poorer areas, made the most of what I had, and lived in every moment. I relate with Franklin's environment, yet not with his struggles, I've always been lucky enough to not fall into a life of crime, as I've always had food on my plate, never wondering if the next meal will be the last and have always been given a second chance.

Trevor, although being a character I believe is misunderstood, I don't relate to that much; however I enjoy his craziness, blurting out random things & doing what he wants, projecting his thoughts without a care. I've always wanted to have his confidence in speaking, which yes might just be because of his countless mental problems, but still is something I admire. I do feel for Trevor, with his drug problems, alcoholic troubles & more, I believe Michael and Franklin in the end were a good influence, giving him an opportunity for a new start, killing off old rivals and getting rid of those who opposed them.

Lastly, Michael. I've never related to Michael that much, my family hasn't been as "broken" as his, but I do sympathize with him in certain parts of the story, e.g., when Amanda took Tracy & Jimmy (Jizzle) and he had a depressive episode, wearing his leather jacket constantly and drinking himself to sleep while watching his favourite old movies. He does make a big impact in the story, and might be the overarching main character, but he's just not somebody I relate to much or fully understand.

In conclusion, in symphony with the story, it's small details & plot lines, these three great, relatable characters, are the reason why GTA V is as respected and loved as it is.

You really think they'd set the next game in Vice City? nah, I don't think so, no way.

No I don't think they will set it there. I lied so that I'd get people quoting my post months later like this.

OT: Half the heists in GTA V not paying anything (Blitz Play, The superweapon heist and the FIB heist) was some junk. Maybe it made sense in the story and the FIB heist helps them stay out of jail but overall a heist without pay feels funny.

Popular opinion is this:

GTA V is the most unrewarding in the series. Be it a side thing like towing for Tonya to even getting 100% which just gets you what? A shirt, some UFOs, an achievement, a big foot mission etc.
