SA should've reused weapon sounds from either Manhunt or GTA3\VC, they sound much more solid and fitting than that plastic toy gun crap normally we hear in the game.

Not to mention R* already did use a handful of other generic sound effects from MH in SA (e.g: bullet hit sounds, footstep sounds etc.) so the former option more makes sense.

Newer GTA games in general's gun sound effects sound weird.

I think rockstar was trying to emulate the crappy sound effects from 90s hood movies like BOYZ N DA HOOD, MENACE 2 SOCIETY, etc. Yea, they sound like crap now, but it fits perfectly when you compare it to other movies and stuff that were out when the game is supposed to take place

At least they sound like they have a morsel of power though, V's are even more pathetic for a game 9 years newer.

I don't know first hand but I'm pretty sure a suppressor doesn't make assault rifles sound like putting a 2 pennies in a tin can and rattling it.

CTW is the most underrated GTA ever. Sure some people might say LCS and/or VCS are, but they’re at-least known enough.

Most people forget that CTW is even apart of the HD era.

I roll my eyes anytime someone plays a sad song for GTA V and all the “hate” it gets yet I’m reminded poor little CTW brought at lot of interesting ideas to the series yet gets written off for “bad graphics” and other nonsense.

Advance is less well known but it didn't have many cool original ideas compared to CTW (e.g. drug dealing minigame, stealing Ammunation trucks, online weapon store, lottery cards etc), I'd say CTW is more underrated.

Gun Muzzle flashes/explosion effects are even worse in SA,i mean come on even III/VC are better in that regard,it's really hard to  take it serious without modding it

The lack of an in-game map is the biggest flaw of GTA III.

As much flack as I give GSG for the sh*t quality of their mobile ports and the DE, giving GTA III an in-game map was a legitimate improvement.

I found the sound effects in VC pretty funny honestly, like the explosion sound and the door unlock sniper rifle sliding bolt sound.

Trilogy defintive editon is their biggest mistake.

New players  get false memo that these games were utter sh*t, when they are actually are rockstar diamonds.

There's nothing wrong with GTA III Mobile, it's arguably the best remastered GTA game that isn't V

I definitely put in in popular, but Rockstar ingame collectibles are total pain in the ass.

There are zero hints from them, they are on completely random places without helicopters they are unreachable, in GTA V there is one thats reachable just by complete luck after crash landing with parachute. Mostly collectibles cannot be traced back, you have 99 pieces found but you are sure that you collect 100? Bad luck lets try it again.

Also they dont offer anything memorable, for example Mafia offer some piece of newspapers, playboy, ads. Mafia 3 is best example how to do collectibles without thinking beign idiot.

VCS actually handled this quite well compared to everything that came before and after it. The game has a toggle to show popped balloons and completed stunt jumps/rampages/etc. on the map (at least on the pause menu, I don't remember if it adds them to the in-game radar). It makes going for the collectables less frustrating, although you'll still more than likely need a map if you're aiming for 100%.

Technically, CTW also tracks the collectables and already-found drug dealers on its map, but its done through a cumbersome dropdown list for each category (which is very annoying for the 100 security cameras in particular). RDR2 is similar to VCS in that it adds (and crosses out) collectables that you've found, but unlike the latter, it only tracks the more significant items (e.g. dinosaur bones or rock carvings, but not cigarette cards).
