Is there a way to mod GTA IV if I bought it from the RockStar Game Launcher?

I recently bought GTA IV the complete edition and I wanna use a simple native trainer to mess around in game. I tried downloading multiple trainers and I keep getting the error saying, "Exception EFCreateError in module DSOUND.dll at 00016c5" "Can not create file D:/ Grand Theft Auto IV\asilog.txt. Access is denied" As far I can tell, it's impossible to mod it now. I'm running GTA IV complete edition version  1.2.0.43

Hello.

Downgrade to (patch) 1.0.4.0 or 1.0.7.0 for adding modification or mods to the game.

such as "simple native trainer" will work then.

 

launch the game true > GTAIV.exe so it won't go true steam launcher wen successful downgraded.

Make sure to back-up your game file's so you can still switch to play multiplayer ect.
