What if Tommy had died in the final mission?

Say for instance one of Sonny's men or Lance manage to score a lucky shot on Tommy's head and he goes out fighting in a similar fashion to Ricardo Diaz and Tony Montana and dies in his office. What would happen then? Would Sonny further tie up loose ends by icing Lance & silencing Rosenberg on the spot? Or do you think Lance & Sonny would both take over of what's left of Vercetti's empire and form a new partnership together while blackmailing Ken to continue working for them as their lawyer by threatening to inform the DEA of his cocaine usage or have him killed if he refuses to represent them in court? It's just a thought i had while finishing the game for the millionth time again this morning since Tommy's character is inspired by Tony's from Scarface and i often wondered what would've happened to Lance & Ken had Tommy actually died in the shootout as intended just like Tony did.

Lance probably wouldn't last long the Forellis will always be wary of him since he's a snitch after all. If not immediately Sonny would dispose of him in time. 

 

Ken would probably be exiled from Vice City maybe he'd end up in his situation in San Andreas sooner. 

 

I wonder who we would play as post game though if both Tommy and Lance are gone. Cam Jones? Pepe?

Yeah I think Sonny would get rid of Lance once the takeover is complete. He knows Lance is not to be trusted after everything that happened, and he's just too much of a wild card for the Forellis to let him run things for them, at least in the long term. I honestly can't see Lance surviving.

 

As for Ken I'm not sure. On one hand I can see Sonny and his crew removing every person related to Tommy's organization one by one just to make sure there's no blowback from the takeover. On the other hand he knows that Ken is easily pushed around and was/is their contact in Vice City. So I can see Sonny letting Ken live and continue working for them, probably against his will and similarly to his position during San Andreas.

The game continues as normally, all the gameplay after that mission is just Tommy's dying dream

Sonny takes over Vice City and cuts himself a nice piece of the action. It could go down three ways. He can get away with it and make the Forellis the most powerful mafia family. If the drugs spill over to LC the Sindacos and Leones might create a temporary alliance against Sonny and rub him out, or they could also get into the coke business, though I think that would be unlikely. In Vice City, I would assume not much would change. New drug lords would rise, many of whom might be bought out by Sonny.

I always wondered what Rosenberg meant by "you ruined your suit!", of course he could mean it got a bit creased in the scuffle or whatever (either that or he sh*t himself or something lol, or sweatstains maybe? Florida is very humid!) Anyway, maybe Tommy could've taken some serious hits throughout the battle, which could be what Ken meant. It could be a cool ending imo, Tommy finally taking his revenge in his last stand against Sonny, having had a short lived but powerful and successful empire and then succumbs to his wounds, dying a free man on the steps of his mansion.

 

Of course that leaves the question of who takes over Vice City next? 

Ken? Mercedes? Earnest? Doris?!? MARIO?!?!
