What's your favorite GTA San Andreas Urban Legend?

As we all know, San Andreas is infamous for alot of things. However, one of the most interesting things I've found about San Andreas is the sheer amount of conspiracies that are in the games, more than the others in the series. Maybe it's because it was alot bigger than the previous games, but I am curious. What're your favorite legends, and how did you hear about it? I wasn't around to experience the golden age of San Andreas conspiracies, but through the grape vine I've heard many claims from seeing Bigfoot to being killed by Jason Voorhees.

My personal favorite legend are the sharks. They're my favorite not only because they actually DO exist, but the fact they're super rare to come by ingame.

Most myths in this game are only creepy in practice because the atmosphere around them is creepy. It's a lot less creepy when they actually appear because.. they can't do anything but hit you with a melee weapon in an open, huge area you can easily run around in. With that being said, CJ's Mom's Ghost as it's called online is terrifying. A character that can't be injured or hurt in a tight, already decently creepy small interior, slowly walking around and insta killing the player upon first hit with significant plot relevance is such a creepy and cool idea. If there was a 1/100 chance for her to spawn everytime you enter CJ's house, it would always keep me on edge. Preferably she'd spawn after the player saves so we don't die and lose everything before a major save.

The ghost cars rolling down the hill scared the sh*t out of me when I was a kid. Now I know what caused them to roll down the hill but I dunno, I kinda miss being a kid again and being afraid to go into the woods over sh*t like that lol

I remember that as a kid I was afraid of four areas in particular for different reasons; Bone County, Shady Creek, The Panopticon & Back O' Beyond.

Bone County: It would always make me feel uneasy because of the alien references, the body bags in the pit & the two ghost towns there. I was always afraid of riding through the desert at night in fear of coming across a UFO or the serial killer. Then the two ghost towns were very creepy, especially since they're named "El Castillo del Diablo" (The Devil's Castle) & "Las Brujas" (The Witches). Something about walking through a ghost town named after witches gave me the creeps, even if there was nothing to be found there.

Shady Creek: I remember there were so many theories about a creature roaming around in the empty forest of Shady Creek. I specifically recall being afraid of coming across Piggsy (the Manhunt character). It didn't help that there's a Piggsy action figure in Zero's shop, which only further solidified the theory. I was also very afraid of the cabin found in the middle of the forest. It was never used in the story, nobody is ever there & at night it glows despite it being clearly abandoned.

The Panopticon: Similar to the previous two areas, I always felt like something was going to leap out at me while exploring the Panopticon. The popular myth was that it was home to Leatherface (from Texas Chainsaw Massacre). If I recall correctly, there were blood stains on the floors & a chainsaw spawned there. What made it more believable was that there's a rusty wheelchair in the fishing dock out in Palomino Creek, which is a reference to the movie.

Back O' Beyond: Basically right across Shady Creek, it always had an unsettling vibe to it. The large hills & trees made it feel like I was trapped in a claustrophobic place with something hiding behind the trees just waiting for me to turn the camera so it can jump out. Also the ghost cars spooked me more than once.

I now know that all of these myths are just that... myths. However, I do miss the days where you could explore an open world game & believe some of these theories without YouTubers debunking everything days after it's release.

I find the Epsilon myth to be very unsettling in San Andreas. The blue lights in Blueberry, the farm from The Truth's mission, even that big desert building. The backpacker and the barbers. Epsilon has that vibe of a sinister mysterious cult in San Andreas. In GTA V, it feels like a joke despite all the side missions.

I used to play on a cracked version of san andreas, and whenever i tried going to Area 69, to the gate, a random ped would spawn and it would try stabbing the hell outta you, ive shown it to my brother multiple times and im pretty sure he still remembers it.

It was a guy with a mask and with mid length hair, pretty sure he was wearing civilian clothes and he was armed with a knife
