Interactive Pause Menu Map

 

Adds an interactive map to GTA III and replaces the default one on GTA VC, with the ability to display blips, markers, a waypoint and zones.

Holy sh*t, FIRST!

 

Finally, we have a proper pause menu map mod for GTA3 now instead of all that weird CLEO-based texture drawing nonsense. Nice work!👍

Quality work, no doubt. The question arises, can the code of the new GTA V Hud's GPS system be injected? Even if it's as an optional feature.
By the way, I think I found an error (my game is in Spanish, I don't know if that influences):

GPS? Probably yes.

The missing text is supposed to not display, related to special zone types in the game, will be fixed in next release.

I wanted to report a bug with the Map. I'm doing "Don't Spank Ma Bitch Up" and the icon of the bat is located at the Stauton Island Stadium instead of the front of Luigi's Club.
I tested this on a modded (no .scm scripts) and vanilla with basic fixes (downgrade+cleo+ultimateasiloader etc.), the result is the same.

You should make the GPS an optional feature if you're going to implement that because personally, I feel it'd be a tad too "modern"-ish for a classic game like GTA3.

One great feature to implement would be the triangle blip shape from VC when the player is higher or lower than the blip on the Z axis.

Ironically, despite the garbage that the definitive editions are, it's a great time to be a fan of the classic GTA games on PC.

I'm having an issue with this mod. In the mission Uzi Rider, I'm not getting any pedestrians spawning at Hepburn Heights, so I can't complete the mission. As soon as I uninstalled the mod, everything went back to normal.

Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder...

Yes this has been recently noticed, has been already addressed and a fix will be out soon.

If it's possible then can you make the gps and the waypoint as a separate thing for VC also?

I tested on a fully vanilla copy (except Ultimate ASI Loader and SilentPatch) and I'm still getting the blank screen. I don't think it's a conflict with the many other mods I have.

@_𝓐𝓖 - Is it possible to add a couple of INI options to give the menu map a custom color shade in RGB space? I use a self-made plain white radar mod with cyan color applied to it through memory address patching, and in the menu the map shows it's true colors which looks kinda "eyesore"-ish to me.

I just wanted to say your mod works. Sorry to mislead you previously, I noticed it only works by putting the files on the scripts folder. If not, the page is blank like I showed. 😳

Get it here.

 

Changes:
 -VC port.
 -Replace entire map screen.
 -Replace legend box.
