Is “Anywhere City” ever mentioned in any games outside of GTA2?

I’m wondering if there are any hints to its existence in the 3D or HD Universes. Does anyone ever mention it? Is it ever mentioned on any of the in-game websites in GTA IV or GTA V, or elsewhere?

AFAIK... most likely no? (citation needed)

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there are any such references to the city? I guess you probably know this GTA2 easter egg from GTA3.

 

GTA2 is kinda mysteriously set in it's own "GTA2 universe" with little to no correlation to and from other GTA universes, so there's most likely no references because the city exists "three weeks into the future", or 2013, or maybe 14 years into the future considering there's a difference of 14 years between 1999 and 2013. IDK.

I know it takes place in a different universe, but then again so does GTA, and it still has the same cities. I hope we can find more info on this. But you’re definitely right that GTA2 is the most unique. It’s basically the super Mario bros 2 of GTA.

The Furore GT's description on Legendary Motorsport begins with the line "From Los Santos to Nowhere, USA..."

Since the Furore GT appeared first in GTA 2, this could be an indirect reference to Anywhere City.

Yeah that’s a nice reference. I’m trying to find actual in-universe references though. Like a blogger saying they went to Anywhere, Illinois, or something like that within one of the HD games for example
