digency
Salutations, As most of you might know, GTA IV and it's expansions, TLAD and TBOGT have different filters / timecycles going for them. TLAD's is very gritty, TBOGT's is colorful and clear, etc. Many people seek to mod these filters out of the game entirely, but I was wondering if there is actually a way to swap between the three? I might be in the minority here, but I actually quite like TLAD's gritty, grainy filter and I was wondering if it is at all possible to get this filter on standard GTA IV. I did in fact try moving over and replacing the timecyc.dat and timecyclemodifiers.dat, but it screwed up a lot of GTA IV's lighting and made Niko completely invisible. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's even at all possible to attain TLAD's filter on default GTA IV. Any tips or suggestions? Is it even possible? Oh, and of course if anyone knows any good gritty looking filter-mods that already exist, I'd love to see them (I tried looking but I only found mods that take out the grit rather than intensify it.). Thanks in advance. Edited March 31 by digency MaveriX
B Dawg
You don't touch timecyclemodifiers, you only mess with timecyc.dat I'm not sure about the grain filter/noise effect, it might be there in IV if you have it enabled in TLAD, otherwise, it might require messing with some other files so it's available in the main menu for IV but I don't remember how to do that, something to do with the frontend_menu.xml file Edited March 31 by B Dawg
MaveriX
Here's some stuff that works for me: Turn down brightness, contrast, saturation Install SweetFX 1.5 https://sfx.thelazy.net/downloads/ and enable film grain Install these roads https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=49258. The roads look dark and gritty Edited April 6 by MaveriX digency
