Im Rank 730 now, so Just 20 Ranks left to make my Rank golden....then I need another goal, because its getting Boring af.

Honestly doens't feel very different from 750 to 1050 where I'm sitting rn.

Sure, there have been updates which I've enjoyed, but even without the updates I could be rich af, and people would call me cheater bc of my rank or other bs,.

I'm a psycho. I have over $750M. My current character is 775. My previous 2 were well over 1500 and 1100. I'm legitimately 2500 combined. I've actually had sex with my wife while playing this game.

You know, ever since I reached 250 million I was suddenly hit with a "Now what?" feeling. I barely have anything to actualyl spend it on outside of a few cars that I might have to sell for garage space.

I remember the excitement for my first 5 mil, my first 10 mil, my first 20 mil an dso on. Was super excited to hit 50 mil and when I hit 100 mil it was hooooo-wheeee! But after that it died down a little. Now it's just... a number, man.

Maybe when a new update hits I might be able to spend another 5-7 million initially but I'm probably going to make that back faster than I think. And I'm not talking about Cayo Perico.

IMO it is even a better game when you don't have to worry about grinding for $$$.  Just do whatever you want just for fun, help others, just mess around.

Not only that, but I realised that having a comfortable amount of money means you're free to do all those things that are fun in the game, but don't make any money.

For example, time spent taking photos, customising vehicles, creating custom stunt tracks, etc. - none of those earn money, so if you're short of funds, doing any of that stuff is time 'wasted', because you could have been earning money instead. And that sucks, because those are all enjoyable things to do - but if you need money, then you can't justify 'wasting' time on them. It's one of the worst design oversights in the game, IMO.

So if you're at the point where money is meaningless, then congratulations, because now everything is worth doing, simply for the fun of it! Imagine that: playing videogames for "fun" - I know some CEOs and publishers have a hard time getting their heads around the concept, but amazingly, it can be done! :p

If you have good friends GTA O can still be a lot of fun. But if you're an OG with a space daddy bank account and by yourself it's a bore first. I'm still on PS4 and my friends are split between 4 & 5. So I rarely if ever play now. Maybe once a week if anyone needs help with something. In all GTAV has run its course for me. Unless a new map gets released for freemode than it's mostly done.

Yes, because you can do a whole lot more like getting into social club/game photography, and I mean reeeallly get into it.

And if that's not your cup of tea, you can do stupid sh*t like flying on top of someone's blimp, then realizing that it's hard to get down because your oppressor has long since fallen off, so your buddy has to go find the tallest car he can so you can jump down and still lose half your health. You can also find a random bulldozer and see how many bodies y'all can fit in the scoop in front of it, or play an impromptu game of tag around the light house with randoms in which you end up just jumping off the cliff all while you've been humming the Benny Hill theme in the mic. 🤣

tl;dr: you may be rich in this game, but true wealth is the friends you find along the way. 👍

In a way, it is. I'm back up to nearly $740M after being below 700 ($697m actually) less than 3 weeks ago. I like to find money making methods and beat the sh*t out of them. RN, coke, method, buke, Nightclub, sec ctracts & 1 client job an hour nets over 700k every 60 minutes (over the long haul. 11 hours is 8 plus million. It's probably morw like 750k per hour.

Yeah I'm  at 372 million right now. I kinda wanna know when gtao2 gta6 comes out so I can time the complete draining of my account . I'm not sure but I still have room for 30 -35 vehiclesand an orb cannon I've never used .  Right now i still wait till Thursday to buy anything if I havnt bought vehicles by Sunday .

I just want confirmation on online 2 and that there's no chance at carrying over my bank .

Till then I'll just do what I want in online while relying on Wall safes and nightclub sales for income .

I definitely don't have everything and always sit between 500k and 4 million and that is completely enough for me, if I feel like a new car or something I can work it out. But otherwise I just do what makes me just fun, even if it brings no money.

Just to make more money?  No because your goal is reached.  Now if your goal is to have fun playing the game in general then yes.  😜  If anything you can go Vinewood like Michael and get into GTA movies or snapmatic.  Perfect way to show off your wealth.

The truth is "without" having a comfortable amount of money you couldve still did things fun in the game that dont make money.  I am a witness.  i had the game since release and never grinded.  I simply played the game and now I have over 300m and everything I want and I had fun playing and doing whatever I wanted along the way.  You simply chose to play the way you did.  GTA is not the type of game you play for a week or so,  beat it and move on to the next game.  You buy it expecting to play for years so theres plenty of time to simply play the game and get whatever you want.  I never understood why people make their experience boring by grinding endlessly just to hurry and get a bunch of money and eventually end up not being able to spend said money and be bored again. 🤪

Is the "you chose to play this way" part general, or aimed at me specifically? Because funnily enough, I'm an even more extreme example of the same: I've only ever had over $10 million once, and that was a particularly dull bit of grinding six years ago (bloody hell...) to get a yacht. Ever since, I've just sat on $4-5 million, and just do a little bit of money-making from things like VIP jobs or contact missions (!) to top back up to that $4-5 million by the time the next update comes out.

But then, I'm a weirdo who doesn't own most of the businesses, or any open-wheel racing cars, or all those expensive Smuggler's Run planes, because none of that interests me - Rockstar did me a solid ages ago, by making most of the big-ticket purchases stuff I don't want to own (joke's on you, Sam/Strauss! :p)! And my advice to anyone is "wait for a sale" in most cases - why rush to get everything on Day 1, when you could just wait a few months for 30-40% off? That way, you also spread the novelty of the new stuff out for longer, so it won't wear off as quickly.

(I do the same in most other games, too - never understood why some Forza players rush to grind out earning credits to buy everything, when you can just unlock stuff for free/cheaper in the fullness of time... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

That particular sentence was aimed at you.  No ill intent homie.  Just responding to when you said activities that dont make money is time wasted and if you need money then you cant justify doing non money making things.  I assumed thats the logic you had when playing and thats why I said you chose to play that way.  I apologize though as you have made me aware that you play for fun over money. 👍

It's all good - and yeah, I'm very much a 'what's the point in playing if you're not enjoying it?' kind of player. That said, my point stands in general: with the game putting such an emphasis on money-making, and pricing things in the multiple millions, Rockstar has basically de-incentivised any activity that doesn't make money efficiently. Particularly for newer players: if you want to get up to speed so you can get stuff like the higher-end hypercars, or a Kosatka, spending time in the Editor or the Creator is time not spent earning money (or experience, or burning through Gunrunning R&D, or earning Car Meet rep, etc.). And I suspect a lot of people are more likely to grind, or buy Shark Cards, or (heaven forbid) GTA+, rather than just being relaxed about it and going "eh, I can wait - and maybe I can do with out that stuff, anyway". Which I imagine is the point - and the business model!

They should really buff everything, particulary contact missions, survivals, Prison Break, Humane Labs, Serie A, buff Pacstand to x1.5 permanently.

You play how and when you want once you get rich. Bad bonuses weeks and few discounts, I don't play.

Absolutely. Pretty much everything that came before Finance & Felony started the Freemode business trend (and quite a few things since, even) could do with a bump in payouts - not just for the sake of keeping them more viable in the long run, but also to make them more beneficial to newer players, since it's still important to learn the ropes by doing the older stuff, IMO.

Beyond that, I think Rockstar needs to figure out some means of adding payouts of some kind to things like the Editor or Creator - can't just be timer-based, or people would leave the Editor on overnight just to farm easy cash. But a system more like Forza, where you get a return based on published jobs and number of plays (and maybe things like number of props used, to discourage farming via low-effort creations), would probably work. And for stuff like Snapmatic, maybe some kind of photo challenge game mode, and a system where likes/views on Social Club gives you passive income per like/view (which'd also incentivise using the Social Club site more!).

To make money? No. For everything else? Absolutely.

There is so much content in this game that people ignore just because it doesn't make money, it's insane. I spent the past 6 months or so doing parachuting jobs, trying to get gold on Flight School lessons or playing casino/arcade minigames or simply doing stupid things with my friends like trying to get a Scramjet on Maze Bank tower. Not to mention in general playing what mission/heist you want to play and not the one that pays the most. I will say that the actual GTA starts after you are done grinding. There is where the fun begins.

I think related to raising payouts is that they really need to up Shark Cards too and they don't want to for whatever reason. I get the hate for them but they're part of R*'s business model. Still it's beyond stupid that some casual could drop $50 and not quite afford a Broomstick. Shark Cards should've been doubled years back and tripled by now.

I migrated my Level 1300 character to the Series X version, and I pretty much have everything, so it was getting a bit dull, and I was spending most of my time in races. What I found was that there was nobody racing on current gen, so I went back to the previous version and I have started again with a brand new character.

I'm already up to $800,000 from race wins, missions and Freemode events, and all I own is a Ruffian motorcyle, a few weapons, three saved outfits and a two-car garage. It has been some of the most enjoyable play that I have had in years, because I am having to play old school. I don't own any aircraft, so I have to ride everywhere on the bike. It's great.

I have enough money that I don't have to worry about having enough money for the updates, have everything I want, but I still play, reason for doing so, is to hit level 1000, id be there by now if I didnt take a break after I started playing in Dec '13, but even then, because of the billionare days, I just f*cked around.    But, because I have "retired" from the grind, I am not doing a lot to earn RP,  I partake in most of the freemode events, collect BB's and sell my NC/Bunker stock for my goofing around in freemode money.

I got about $370 million. For me personally, I like to log in every now and then to run a cayo heist, maybe do a gunrunning or nightclub sale, and that's about it as far as making money. I primarily do that just to keep me sharp. My days of actually feeling like real life working inside a video game are over. I used to spend hours upon hours grinding missions, crates, business sales, etc. Just as someone mentioned earlier, once you've made enough money, that's when the fun begins. Now all I typically do is login and mess around with a few vehicles, and maybe blast NPC's off a bridge using the rocket boost on the vigilante. 😁

I love the game, and have been addicted to GTAO since I started as a latecomer in June of 2020. Honestly, there is a lot of fun to be had, but having been a money grinder and actually quite surprised my PS4 still works after pretty much being constantly on and AFK/Solo 24/7 for at least 15 months of that time, I accumulated such an absurd amount of wealth that I have purchased pretty much everything new that came out for the past year. The thing is, for me, having been a constant money grinder, I have not really explored other facets of the game. I really need to start diving more into the Car Meet stuff, the Arena Wars, Transformer races, Time Trials, Criminal Mastermind, Gerald, Simeon, Lamar/Franklin/TPE, Featured Series, Auto Shop missions/gameplay, etc..

It's funny how I am ranked like 670 now, which isn't high at all, although perhaps not bad for less than two years, and yet have barely scratched the surface of this game when it comes to non-money stuff.

Now that the game is out for the PS5, I really want to start getting deeper into the various modes and stuff I have literally ignored for the sake of wealth accumulation.

Off Topic: LMAO anyone who wants to friend me on PSN in this forum and has the game on the PS5, let me know. A lot of the best and most skillful players in this game have no money. Probably because they have spent all their time honing their skills. I can really help you make money and you can really show me around the other aspects of the game. I played a lot with @xInfected_Virus for a long time, and thanks for his mentoring me, I got money grinding down to a science. But I literally know nothing about the non-money parts of the game. So if anyone here is on PSN/E&E and wants to show me around all the other modes, I will make you rich by grinding money for you and giving you 85% of all the back-to-back-to-back-to-back heists you want. :)

Oh and my name is ChiroVette on PSN! Even of you're not highly skilled, we can still hook up with people on this forum who are. Oh, if you message me on PSN from here, just let me know you're from GTA Forums when you send me a request.

You still playing because I'm having a hard time making any real money because most people who join in any heists I start either die or quit...and that's if a game can actually start.

Yeah I am playing. I haven't been on a lot because I have an insane work week coming up, but this coming weekend, next weekend, I should be around. I also have a couple of heists ready to go, Casino and Cayo. I will wait until I meet up with you to run them if you send me a friend request. One thing. PLEASE have a mic. It is so boring playing with people who can only type text messages into the controller. Oh, and not sure if I have to mention it, but I am playing on the PS5.
