Is it still worth playing GTA Online if you have a lot of wealth?

I mean... GTA 6 is probably out in the next 2-3 years. If you already own pretty much everything and have more than $100M wealth for example, is it really worth to play to make money anymore?

I think it's worth playing. Not so much to make money, although it will keep coming naturally and it's always handy just in case.

But I enjoy co-op missions helping randoms and friends/family or racing for example, or sometimes just cruising around and relaxing by doing the little things like time trials, rob some shops, delivering auto shop cars, finding the blue dot cars, running promo's, payphone hits, contracts or VIP jobs, doodling in the casino or on arcade machines etc. Just mixing it up.

Plus I enjoy filling the awards so there's always those to chip away at if I'm looking for an idea.

Is the game fun for you? Are there aspects that you enjoy?

That's really all the criteria you'll need.

Seeing a higher number in my bank account makes me feel more financially secure psychologically even if I already have anything I want to own. I do a Cayo Perico and then cruise around with a randomly selected car from my collection during cooldown here and there.

Rich or poor it's worth  playing if you still have fun playing.
That's it.
Super simple.

Maybe not to make money, but it's still work it to at least check out new DLCs that come out even with how few and far between they are now a days. If having too much wealth is the boring part, then it could be fun to start all over (if you're on console and can make multiple user accounts, I don't recommend buying multiple copies if you're on pc) with a fresh new character. I've mostly ditched my old modded account with hundreds of billions and started playing with two new characters starting from the bottom and I'm having a lot of fun starting again. Maybe it could be good for you too, but that's up to you.

Yes cause now you can do what you want without worrying about money.

You could literally just dick around freeroam too considering all the means of income now(50k from NC + 5k from Arcade + 20k from Agency along with Bunker/NC stock buildup). Just y'know, don't just sit on your ass with MC/CEO powers activated as that's just being rude

IMO it is even a better game when you don't have to worry about grinding for $$$.  Just do whatever you want just for fun, help others, just mess around.

I love the game, and have been addicted to GTAO since I started as a latecomer in June of 2020. Honestly, there is a lot of fun to be had, but having been a money grinder and actually quite surprised my PS4 still works after pretty much being constantly on and AFK/Solo 24/7 for at least 15 months of that time, I accumulated such an absurd amount of wealth that I have purchased pretty much everything new that came out for the past year. The thing is, for me, having been a constant money grinder, I have not really explored other facets of the game. I really need to start diving more into the Car Meet stuff, the Arena Wars, Transformer races, Time Trials, Criminal Mastermind, Gerald, Simeon, Lamar/Franklin/TPE, Featured Series, Auto Shop missions/gameplay, etc..

It's funny how I am ranked like 670 now, which isn't high at all, although perhaps not bad for less than two years, and yet have barely scratched the surface of this game when it comes to non-money stuff.

Now that the game is out for the PS5, I really want to start getting deeper into the various modes and stuff I have literally ignored for the sake of wealth accumulation.

Off Topic: LMAO anyone who wants to friend me on PSN in this forum and has the game on the PS5, let me know. A lot of the best and most skillful players in this game have no money. Probably because they have spent all their time honing their skills. I can really help you make money and you can really show me around the other aspects of the game. I played a lot with @xInfected_Virus for a long time, and thanks for his mentoring me, I got money grinding down to a science. But I literally know nothing about the non-money parts of the game. So if anyone here is on PSN/E&E and wants to show me around all the other modes, I will make you rich by grinding money for you and giving you 85% of all the back-to-back-to-back-to-back heists you want. :)

Oh and my name is ChiroVette on PSN! Even of you're not highly skilled, we can still hook up with people on this forum who are. Oh, if you message me on PSN from here, just let me know you're from GTA Forums when you send me a request.

Not in my opinion. I've got 730 Mio cumulating my two accounts and really I'd be happy with just 20Mio, why tf I grinded this game like a bot. I guess I was expecting some super mega update where you can finally buy a private island out of the map with mansions and stuff, but it never happened.

I think its worth playing as long as you are enjoying it . I am sitting on over 350 million with all I need or want in terms of properties and vehicles . What I like is not having to grind anymore .....but I still make money just doing what I like . If it ever gets boring ....its good to take a break.  Im a day 2 player but have taken a few extended leaves totalling 2 years  ....im actually back now after a 7 month break,  bought the agency ....running the contracts and mixing up other stuff.  Still enjoy banking money and haven't run a cayo since last time panther came out ..... might finish that off today and buy a few cars to soop up with hao

If you're playing GTAO for the sake of playing (if you're not chasing goals or achievements) then it's not worth playing.

If you have fun playing GTAO then keep doing so!

There's no guarantee that wealth / clothes / anything will be transferrable to the next version of GTA, so don't get hung up on that idea though.

I play this game pretty much to do races and modify cars, so for me the more money i have the better :)

What i mean by that is that the worth someone find in gta varies a lot from person to person due to how much stuff you can do in this game. So if you having fun keep having it

I've been saying that for a long time in my arguments with the "anti-shark card" crowd.
There is no winning GTA:O. Everything in the game is optional. You don't need any of it to have fun.
Just like in life, what you "need" is completely decided by you.

Yep, exactly - play it as long as it's fun, earning money is just a way to bypass the paywalls on content rather than a goal in itself.

Since Cayo Perico, where I made about $30m by completing the heist enough times to tick off all of the fun challenges, I just jump on GTAO when there's some new content, or if I feel like a drive around solo or with friends. My philosophy has always been to only make as much money as you actually plan to spend instead of wasting time grinding, but with that obstacle removed the game becomes even more sandbox than before. I'm pretty sure I still have at least $20m hanging around, which should see me through all of the expansions for years to come without worrying about making money.

I have $200m and still play GTAO for two reasons. GTA is my comfort food of a video game. It's the game I can turn out and kill time with. Do some missions while listening to audio books or watching YouTube. The other reason is that it's a game my buddy plays. He has moved out of town and our weekly gaming time is when we "hang out." I find the game fun for these reasons.

I currently paused playing GTAO, because there is no content anymore that interests me.

I only got 113m atm, but also 5 full large CEO warehouses, full nightclub, all mc businesses full too. I wait for double events to sell it. And i wait for the content that currently is only available on PS5 and X-Box Series X&S. I wanna play around with that weaponized Ignus and the faster cars.

So yeah atm there is no real reason for me to play the game. If i wanna do racing i rather play Forza. Im currently playing through Far Cry 6, at least it has a story and stuff i haven't seen thousands of times already. And i mean the graphics is pretty good compared to the good old GTA. Playing it all maxed out without DXR in 2160p with FSR Ultra Quality and always having 80-105 FPS is pretty cool. Im getting "whoa that looks awesome" moments while running through the jungle, with so many shadows and vegetation and a bunch of animals etc. yeah it's very nice.

Rockstar has to lure me into GTA again with the release of the current gen consoles content. Before that, nope there is no reason to play it. There are enough other games out there.

True. People get too tunnelvisioned in this idea of needing everything. I dont have a lot of businesses, properties, armored and weaponized vehicles, and i am perfectly fine with it. I have the cars i love and for me thats enough. You can rip me off of everything as long as you leave me with my top 10 cars i simply wont care.

The "everything" I need is the stuff they call and email you about in game. I only buy some of those properties just to stop the in game spam.

You drive? Ever since the CEO Buzzard came out I forgot that driving personal cars was even a thing in this game.

I love driving IRL and in game. And to be honest, out of all the open world games with driving I've played, GTA's driving is miles better. My recent playthrough of Cyberpunk has made me painfully aware of this.

To be honest with you i learnt to just ignore the e mails and calls, is like they dont exist anymore, i know it seems strange but they pop up and i dont even noticed that they did.

About driving, yes i do, there are times that i catch myself just fooling around and cruising for like 10 minutes in the space between missions. I get a car with a nice interior, put first person on and forget life. Is like driving irl but without having to pay 6 bucks for gas.

Which is a shame, the cars in cyberpunk are probably the best ficctional cars ever created in terms of bluid quality and detail, but the driving physics, excessively flat roads and wacky engine sounds really ruin the experience. GTA is still the best at its craft, even all this years later.

Well, if I had that much money and owned everything, I personally wouldn't play the game for money, because I don't actually play for money anymore. That ship sailed long ago. The value I place on the game is different, so I'd only continue playing for the reasons that I still do today. Which is for the cars, clothes, character creating, in-game photography, and meets with the crew. I love fashion and design, and this one of the only games I have that is best for me to play around with in regards to that. Not every car is worth owning imo, neither is every piece of clothing. While it could be better imo (that's subjesctive too), I'm able to make do with what's there and that's better than anything else rn imo.

Although, I don't play as much like I did the first few years of its release, there's still some juice left in it for me. And damn am I squeezing tf out of it. Lmao.

But, hypothetically speaking if I had all that, then no, imo it isn't worth it to play the game for money. I have everything, so at that point there would be nothing else for me to strive for if that was my only objective.

That's how I see it.

Yes, having money is not even something to actually aim for in this game.  Anyone that considers making money in this game as anything other than an incidential part of the game should quit and work in real life.  The game would still be worth playing if they added a new map.  The only update since 2016 worth a damn has been CP.  Because it actually added something new.  Even it was bare bones and the design choices were poor.  It was at least not some underground building.  Part of the fun was diving around the island. The game's not dull because you have too much money...its dull because traveling around the map is 8 years old.  Its like island fever, virtually speaking.

I have about $570m and have done everything the game has to offer short of the two Criminal Mastermind Challenges, Elite Challenges, Achievements & Awards. As we're currently in this ultimate limbo state between E&E's launch and the next DLC with R* pissing their credibility up the wall to go alongside their already pissed away legacy, I don't log-in anymore except to clock any weekly bonuses.

I was very clear ever since Cayo Perico's announcement - E&E must have a proper freeroam expansion added to it, not Cayo Perico since that's supposed to be a private island designed specifically for a Heist, but something like Liberty City from GTA IV would be the go-to option. Now, it's like R* want to destroy all the good they did for GTA Online thorugh 2019 - 2021, after a year and a half of drought, another year and a bit waiting on Story DLC only to follow that up with 2 years of Mobile Gameplay with a rewritten & repurposed Story DLC packed in the middle of it. Then finally, bringing the series back to reality and designing stories & missions that were far more fitting for the GTA Franchise.

TL;DR If you've got $100m, play something else in your spare time and hold onto it until the next update comes along.

I don't find fun in jobs anymore and all races are boring now with every lobby using catchup

I play for an hour a week or so on featured adversary modes but that's about it
