little kid i still remember how excited i was as a 13 year old kid when i picked up gta 5 for the first time and when i jumped into gta online for the first time but that company rockstar games that made those games that i loved as a kid well that company doesn't exist anymore unfortunately i made a video almost two years ago titled no one trusts rockstar games anymore and if you thought things were bad at that point since then things have gotten exponentially worse back when i made that video everyone's main problem with rockstar was the modding in gta online on pc plus the fact that they just announced gta 5 would be re-re-releasing on nextgen consoles well since then we've had rockstar release an absolute mess of well it's not really a remaster is it but the gta trilogy i guess more like a d master as the community is calling it nowadays we've also seen the complete abandonment of red dead online which rockstar well everyone thought they were going to support for years and years to come we saw both the delay and then the release of gta 5 on next gen consoles and that was really nothing of note it was kind of just a slight graphics upgrade and frame rate upgrade and today rockstar has announced that there is now going to be a subscription service in gta online called gta plus now i'm not going to go over everything that's in this subscription service in this video the main thing is you're going to get about 500 000 each month and the other thing is you're going to get exclusive access to new vehicles that are coming out with house special works which means that the people who pay for this are going to be getting exclusive content that other players won't be getting until later which is an absolute joke and the price for this well it's 5.99 a month u.s for you guys over there around the world we'll have to wait and see but guys don't buy this as if this game hasn't been milked to death enough with shark cards like we don't need this okay this is it's crazy if there was a way that you wanted to introduce more micro transactions into gta online which is just crazy because shark cards are absolutely nuts as is then do something like a seasonal system do a battle pass for god's sake i don't know not a subscription service i genuinely have never been more disappointed in this company luckily this is only exclusive to next-gen consoles so you guys on pc and last gen you don't have to worry about this which is good in my opinion but the main concerning part about all of this is you're getting vehicles like at least a week early than the other players that don't pay this subscription so my question is what's next rockstar i have absolutely no doubt that rockstar plans to pay wall some content in the next dlc behind this service as well what's next will you have to pay for this subscription to get a week early access to the next heist we can all see the groundwork being laid and well it looks like this was the reason behind expanded and enhanced all along so that rockstar could add this into the game now for you guys that watch my weekly update videos each week you would have noticed that the weekly updates over the past month have been kind of trash well i have no doubt that rockstar most likely plans to well put the best bonuses each week or each month behind this service so are the weekly updates dead well we'll have to wait and see for you guys that don't want to pay six dollars a month but why have i titled this video save rockstar games well believe it or not i actually don't hate rockstar games i feel sorry for the developers that work there this undoubtedly is the work of the publisher of rockstar games take two interactive who is a publicly traded company which means they need to make as much money as possible every single quarter to make their investors happy unfortunately that means the players us well we go out the window and it's just dollar signs in their eyes this company that we all know and love or at least loved well that company doesn't exist anymore because take two are the ones that are pulling the strengths and for those of you who want to jump to defend rockstar games over this well here's some news in case you didn't realize those people that developed your favorite games whether it's gta 5 red dead 2 red dead 1 gta 4 gta san andreas whatever it was well i gotta break it to you most of those guys aren't at rockstar anymore former rockstar games president leslie benzies and obviously someone who is extremely influential over rockstars storytelling game direction everything left the company back in 2016 and went on to sue take two interactive over quote numerous deceptions including allegedly forcing him from the company and terminating owed royalty payments that's right the former president had a lot of bad blood with rockstar's publisher take two what does that say back in 2018 co-founder and vice president of rockstar games dan hauser left the company as well which has been strongly rumored to be because of creative differences and an insane schedule dan hauser was one of the lead writers for basically any rockstar game you have ever played a few months after that laszlo jones also left rockstar after 19 years of working at the company and overseeing all in-game creative audio and video content these are three of the most influential people at rockstar games leaving in a few years the man running the ship now at rockstar the president is sam hauser dan's brother but it's also been widely speculated that dan hauser who left in 2020 left because of differences with the game's publisher take to interactive but sam was a bit more willing to work with them so again the people that made your favorite rockstar games games are no longer there and from what we know it's only a small skeleton crew actually working on gta online nowadays and maybe no one working on red dead online nowadays with presumably most of the staff working on the next gta those changes in leadership that i mentioned have let take two come in over the past few years and monetize the living hell out of rockstar's ongoing online games in a similar and maybe even more predatory way than other existing take to interactive games like nba 2k my main fear is if we're seeing this treatment of red dead online and gta online now should we really be that excited for gta 6. if rockstar is so willing to implement things like a battle pass in red dead online and a subscription service in gta online are we really dumb enough to think this stuff isn't going to be in gta 6 it 100 will be and no one wants that this game developer that we all grew up with loving is quite clearly no longer making decisions that they want to make. #save rockstar games #collected
