I just thought, R* has already proven they can and will give GTA+ members "early access" to stuff by locking the Deveste Eight HSW upgrade behind it for a limited time. It's not just discounts and special offers, I fully expect vehicles and missions to be time locked as well.

Take the Tuners where the Lost and Union Depository Jobs were locked away for a few weeks, it would be easy to do the same for GTA+ content. Just have GTA+ members get dripfed content one week before the plebs.

That's a whole separate discussion.
The discussion was about if payouts have been nerfed, or not (they haven't).
And if you have more or less purchasing power in 2013 than today (you have more today).

How is it? It boils down to Rockstar's mentality in treating the players whether they are paying or earning it. The average payouts have been decreased with the obvious exception of Cayo, Cayo is an outlier. With your example of the Contact Missions, you didn't take in consideration that we also had 2 key mechanics in the mix back then. Time did not equate to payout and the option to replay the last mission. Both of these go hand in hand at min/maxing the grind - either way you would end up roughly doing 100 missions but depending on the skill, size of mission vs payout and that awesome replay button.

Additionally, I think you're comparing pre-nerf payouts to earn post-nerf items in which isn't a fair comparison. If you're using the Adder as your example, we then need to use the most expensive item right now versus the missions that are available today. AFAIK that's the 10 million luxor deluxe, now run the best payout method (Cayo?) At 45 mins average for 1.3 million average is 8 times you need to run it, taking you 6 hours to get the most expensive item. Insert the 10 min cooldown on top, adding another 1 hour and 20 mins. You have 7 hours 20 mins time to get the top item.

Hahaha you ppl calling them evil are funny, they just want more profit like every other corporation. It's not like they support illegal organ trade, or human trafficking or whatever, they are just greedy not evil. Nobody is forced to pay for that subcription, veteran players don't even need it.

If rockstar wants more whales that pay money to them, good for them. If some ppl are that stupid and fall for it, so be it.

If they don't make stuff permanently exclusive to GTA+ subscribers, and the regular ppl only get some stuff later, that GTA+ doesn't matter at all.

It's all just capitalism, it's not like we didn't see it coming. They only introduce it now, because if they had done that shortly after game release, barely anyone would have bought the even more expensive shark cards. Low levels can get up to speed now much cheaper, i don't even see anything evil in that. Veterans just don't give a crap about it and period.

Edit:

Incase anyone of you played Fallout 76, it's like getting a month of Fallout 1st, only to get the Scrapbox, you fill that Scrapbox for a month like crazy person farm endless junk items and then cancel the sub, in longterm you benefit of it even tho you only needed a one month subscription.

This GTA+ goes in the same direction, it's only useful for a short time. After you got all already, you just cancel the sub and profit of it. That system sure as hell is less greedy than only selling the virtual currency for real money. No idea why you ppl are all so upset about it.

You fail to realize that money is the root of all evil, once you become a greedy c*nt like Straus then you lose every bit of humanity you have and become a scumbag.

Money and politics are the root of all evil

I don't doubt that, however I will say, The Lost contract had some kind of problem with one of it's Prep Missions, so was deactivated until it was patched. i.e. The Union Depository Job was the only one supposed to be held off, held off in fact for the first time Contract Finales were Double $.

The problem is; there's nothing that can be done to financially hurt this venture directly, because it's just code. It's a one time production & implementation cost and once that's in place, its 5 minutes every month to tick a few boxes about what's on sale or pays extra. What this has done is further damage the trust people have with R*, and further raises the question;

Why do R* deserve to make a profit on GTA VI?

Money is just a medium for storing and exchanging resources/value much in the same way electricity is a medium for storing and exchanging energy. Further, it is a physical item. It cannot be "evil" on it's own. It is the usage that is either "good" or "evil". Just like everything else.
Greed is "evil". Money is not.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10

Money can be a thing of good. Once Greed shows up the problems begin.

A better question is "Why does R* feel they deserve even more money out of their players?" and the answer is greed.

I know many people have defended it by saying it's optional and cheap, but that's not the point...

Well, these forums were exciting for a day or two while the revolution lasted. Now back to corporate acquiescence and yet another monthly bill. How sad 😂!

You underestimate how gullible the average GTAO player is.

This isn't directed at us, but them, and it's awfully low value for both groups of players.

We are in endgame, there is nothing that makes your game life free without paying huge amount of cash or not making you angry for same reasons that are everywhere.

If somebody will tell me 20 years before, that this is future of gaming or future of GTA I will not believe him...

Correction, minority won't purchase this. The majority, most likely, will buy this with pride, and they'll also find excuses to defend this, if they'll have to. 🙄

This greed everyone talks about is not even a new thing. 2K has some very aggressive MTX in their sports games. Big franchises like Fallout, COD Warzone, Fortnite, all have MTX. MMOs like WOW can't be played properly without subs. Hell, everything IRL (TV/music) is now a subscription. Whoever is in charge of monetization at Rockstar or T2 is obviously taking notes. GTA+ seems like a testing ground for the future, just like splitting currency in RDO was with gold bars.

It's always been about money. Back in the day, V SP DLC wasn't only cancelled because of GTAO, but because they had previously said IV EFLC sales were "disappointing". They don't believe in SP DLC anymore because of money. Dissolving it into GTAO probably meant it'd get a higher return if it encouraged shark card sales (vs a one time fee for SP DLC).

GTA+ is just very "on the nose", making it harder for the community to swallow. It's probably something we are going to have to get accustomed to hearing about from Rockstar, which is what is most concerning.

Oh trust me, they will. There's enough GTAO players gullible/stupid enough to believe that this is a good deal.

Maybe because they know how broken the game is on PC?

I don´t going to pay a subscription to them based on how they handle the game...... IF they loved their game we should have monthly patches and by now proper servers....

True pretty much, but i was also kind of trying to say "hey maybe fix the PC version and i'd actually be okay with giving you money for it", realistically i see myself (buying it again and) playing this game for another few years IF they do that, because i did play for 1000's of hours, but looks very much like they wont.

When do we start our own GTA project? like from scratch? At this point i kind of feel like all modders and hardcore fans (read: ~60% of the PC playerbase?) should just get together and make a procedurally generated GTA6 just to dethrone what's left of R* lmao

Spoiler

Even with how that's obviously 10x harder then it sounds, i'm sure we have the people on these forums to make something truly amazing & its a fact that most of us know enough of GTA's engine to be able to recreate it, or make something even better? So why not show R* our true colors? If they are so sure we are not worthy of updates or fixes, why not show them how they are in fact not worthy of GTA anymore? No Unreal Engine project tho, after all in a way Epic are part of the reason why current day R* is so bad.

Even though people will inevitably buy into this, I'm really hoping that nifty poll at the top of this thread reflects the ratio of gta online players everywhere then.

There's a reason why no other AAA even attempted make something like RDR or GTAV or GTAO in last 8 years even though they are consistently popular and successful. It's a monumentally difficult and expensive endeavour to emulate GTA (or a modern Rockstar game), especially at the scale they operate on. And you won't even get the Rockstar/GTA branding either. It's not worth the risk for a company when they can make a F2P battle royale or something else.

As a veteran GTAO player since Dec '13, I was wondering what would actually be worth the subscription. How about 3 exclusive vehicles per month with Benny's level of customization? Not into cars, then new exclusive properties (oh wait we had high end penthouses that I never visit anymore).

Maybe a themed pack per month with 3 vehicles, 3 outfits / 10 clothing pieces, a new weapon. Like those smaller updates we got prior to the original Heists update. I think that would be more palatable - High Life, Business etc. Throw in exclusive license plates, tattoos and a dog for your apartment.

If you want to see staff saying "f*ck rockstar", go make your own forum and call it a better GTAForums or some sh*t.

No offense, but if only "f*ck rockstar" is seen as acceptable opinion and nothing else. Lock down the thread, keep only one post saying that and turn this into a reddit post. End of discussion.

Really man, an "if you don't like it, go make your own" argument? If we all could just sprung up a community that easy, most people would have done it already, that's a total fallacy.

People aren't asking for the mods here to go "f*ck Rockstar Games", what people are asking here on this forum is for the mods, who are the ones with actual influence and ties to R*, to actually represent the community they're moderating for instead of being either wishy-washy, complacent or outright condescending in their responses about why they willingly choose not to do so.

This is the E&E debacle all over again and you'll think that the mods here would have caught the hint already but judging by the responses of some of them (not all of them, thankfully!) it seems that's not the case sadly.

Spoiler

Also funny how you mention Reddit, seeing how the r/gtaonline mods are actual trolls who took over that subreddit to aggressively push down an anti-criticism and pro-griefer agenda, at least this forum is way better in that regard (and I hope it stays that way).

I haven't properly played GTA Online since I logged in briefly to do the Casino Heist (once) with some friends. The game is unrecognizable at this point. Also I just learned some of the radio stations got an expanded track list too. :prismkek:

I know this is OT but is the new 2 hour WorldWide FM mix a part of the original Worldwide FM radio station? That track list would be pushing 3 or 4 hours, no?

Throw in a user-run marketplace where the average user could buy these exclusives from other players with in-game cash only like they do for other mmos, then I would consider this whole subscription thing in a more positive light.
