I am improving my good eye to detail in RDR2.

I noticed a few things about the game.
This is where my good eye to detail comes in. Even though the game has many easter egg and secrets. Has any one ever noticed writings on trees and rocks and secret writings and etc and what they all mean? I made this topic to speak about secrets and easter eggs. Has anyone noticed any secrets about this game please by all means share photos here.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking about but...

-There's lots of writings, that will unlock cheats.

They can be found...

...in desk drawers

...on cave walls

...and on a number of structures found throughout the game.

-There's also the writing on a tree next to the mysterious hill home.

It's a mirror cipher that spells out the word leader and can only be viewed from the correct distance away from the tree.

Basically if you get to close, it vanishes.

-There are also a number of Native American rockart paintings found at Window Rock.

This artwork can be journaled about, and it's also the cipher/answer to the statue puzzle that is located in the Grizzlies.

-There's a cave to the far left side of "Big Valley", that has more Native American rockart on the walls within it.

It's basically a bunch of hands painted on the walls.

-There's more Native American rockart within a cave that is hidden under the waterfall at Elysium Pool.

This rockart can be journaled about, and is also the location of the final reward for finding all the dream catchers.

-There's the alien rockart found around the base of Mount shann, that is related to what many people call the Panoramic Map/Mount Shann Mystery.

It's also part of an Easter egg as well.

-There's the old world script that's carved into a rock north of annesburg.

As far as I'm aware it has been translated.

-There's writing/symbols known as "The Mysterious script" that can be found on a few building in Blackwater.

It has also been translated.

It's an Easter egg about Red Dead Redemption 1.

More accurately, the expansion for Red Dead Redemption 1 titled "Undead Nightmare"

-And there are quite a few more, like the voodoo Vese's that are painted on the trees near the small Church just outside of Lakay.

Hopefully this helps answer your question but if none of these are what you're looking for, then perhaps be a bit more specific with your question.

Maybe a screenshot of what you're finding?

Or if that's not possible maybe give a description and a location?

Oh here's one that I'm not sure many people even know about.

There's the young red headed boy that you meet next to the Dakota River.

Chances are, you'll run across him early in chapter 2.

After you've interacted with him you can find a tree near flatneck station, that he will carve a symbol and note of his devotion to the young lady he is pining for.

The tree is slightly off into the woods on the opposite side of the road across from the windmill.

Later on in the story you can run across him again.

It really doesn't matter if you chose to encourage or discourage him in your previous interaction (although depending on that choice your conversation with him will change) but during the second interaction he will update you on how things stand between the two of them.

After this interaction if you return to the tree, you will then find that he has altered the Engraving.

There's something I didn't know about. Also, the writing on the tree at the Hill Home. Then again, I didn't run across the gravestone of all the railroad workers who died on the job until last week. It's at the forest edge northwestern end of Bluewater Marsh. I've traveled around there a lot and guess just never noticed it.

I suspect there's a lot more to be discovered in this game, even now four years after release. Granted, there's the suspicious legendary catfish in the San Luis. And lest we forget the infamous third meteorite. Hoaxy sort of things, paralleling the collectibles with questionable effects, but obtainable nonetheless.

The vampire writings. They say you can take the vampire down or it will not appear at all. Is this true? Is there more to this vampire then what we think?

And lest we forget the infamous third meteorite. Hoaxy sort of things, paralleling the collectibles with questionable effects, but obtainable nonetheless.

--Regarding the catfish...

Sadly you can never actually catch that catfish.

The modding community dug into the game files and actually found the model for for the catfish however it's a broken model.

If my memory serves me correctly I also believe they said there was no code associated with it.

So that's the long and short of that story.

Basically it ends when you see the fish drag the man into the water.

--Regarding the meteorites...

I've searched and searched for the final meteorite, yet I turned up absolutely nothing.

Right after the game was released I thought I was onto a really good lead when I found all the gemstones, and fine rocks that the Native Americans have in baskets at the Wapiti reservation.

My thought process on this was that if they had so many other stones and gems around their Camp, then perhaps they would offer a clue as to where the Third meteorite could be found.

But that went nowhere.

Later as time passed the modding community searched the game files and ultimately turned up nothing.

My suspicion is there are in fact three pieces.

...and everyone has found all three of them.

The way I see it is this.

You get to collect the two smaller ones.

The third one is the larger peace that is still in the center of that crater.

It's simply too big to put in your Satchel LOL.

--Regarding things that are as of yet unfound...

I'm not sure there is anything that hasn't been found.

The modding community has revealed that there's clearly more things that ended up being "cut material" from the game then there are actual things in the game.

When you have some time take a look in the beta thread. You'll see just how many talismans/trinkets were supposed to be in the game.

--Regarding unanswered things in the game...

There is the UFO mystery that is still open ended...

I found quite a lot of clues that I believe are tied to it's bigger meaning.

However it seems most people believe the mystery is over.

This appears to have happened when several other large YouTube channels had the entire Community believing that this rockart drawing was pertaining to this skeleton found at Hani's Bethel...

FOz6uToXMAAZg62?format=jpg&name=large

Because of this misinterpretation, the trail went cold and after that people lost interest.

When correctly interpreted the mystery doesn't dead-end at this point anymore.

With that said, if the clues that I found regarding this mystery are correct (and I'm fairly certain they are)... then, there's a whole lot more to this.

However, every time the subject gets brought up. Somehow the whole thing gets derailed.

Because of that I'm rather reluctant to discussing It.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the question but you have to find the vampire writings first. Then the vampire will show up in the alleyway across from the church at midnight.

There are five writings and each of them give you the clues to unlock the vampire.

Be sure to save your game before you go into the alley way to confront him.

When you encounter him, speak to him twice. After you've done this and the conversation ends, he will begin to approach you.

Kill him quickly, then pick up the reward that he drops.

As far as I'm aware that is the whole story concerning him.

Well that and the fact that he looks a lot like the character seen in that old black and white film. I think the name was Nosferatu.

I think the vampire writings and finding the vampire you are only going to get it or not going to get the it. The vampire of course. But I will try reloading the game if he does not appear straight away. I think it takes 3 night cycles to get to him. Yeah don’t get to close to him give some space to pull out your tomahawk or gun to get him down.

I made this very same post a few moments ago but for some reason it was hidden so I'm going to attempt a repost...

Here's something else that I've never seen anyone speak about.
Mostly because it's actually tied to what I believe is the real mystery regarding the UFOs.

#1 Hani's Bethel

The definition of a Bethel...

beth·el
/ˈbeTHəl/
Church Architecture.
Noun.
1. A holy place.
2. A chapel for seamen.

Seamen are ocean faring people... right?

The old world script clearly points out that whoever wrote it came by boat.
Hmmmm?

#2 The Mad preacher.

Always found preaching while standing in water.

A rather strange behavior for most preachers because you would expect to find them behind a Pulpit.
However the preacher of a Bethel would almost certainly be found performing Services while being near or standing in water.

I know that Hani's Bethel is tied to the UFO mystery because one spawns directly above it and there's the Mysterious sermon.

Including the images depicted in the red rockart drawings.

And before you dismiss the link between the Vikings and the UFOs, then maybe you should take a look at this coincidence...

E4LbbAYXIAMYNIs?format=jpg&name=large

Just taking the silhouette of the mask on Arthur's face and that image they certainly bear a resemblance.

And there's more because they're appears to be something with wings, depicted on the front of this mask.

E4LbeJOXEAEpGwY?format=jpg&name=large

Also if you look closely at the head of the winged thing depicted on the front of mask it sure looks a lot like...

If everything I found is indeed correct then I think I understand what it is that they are hinting at.

And I can only see two logical explanations coming from it

The first is...

This could just be an Easter egg about certain content that Rockstar was about to put out.

Looks like they were hinting at it before they actually released it.

The second possibility is...

They actually hid an Easter Egg within that content.

I'm still trying to work out if there is something to actually be found.

As of yet.. I've come up empty-handed.

Also I'll add this...

In the very beginning of the mystery when the mysterious sermon was found a big part of the community felt that it was hinting at something related to GTA V.

They made this assumption based upon nothing more than what the mysterious sermon said.

And that's kind of what this whole mystery is about.

...or so it would seem.

That's my take on it anyway.

I know a lot of this probably doesn't add up for some people but when I explain everything it will.

I'll put together a post explaining what I believe is the whole thing.

The only problem is in order to put it together and explain everything correctly I'll need images from the game.

But after a number of repeated full play throughs, I'm kind of burnt out on the game right now and need a break.

I will eventually get back to this.

So This UFO mystery seems to be split in two.

Both halves appear to be hinting at GTA.

As I pointed out above. One half appears to be hinting at GTA V and the content they were about to release, while the other is regarding the stuff that I mentioned about the Vikings...

So you might be wondering at this point how do the Vikings tie to GTA?

GTA Vice City and Vice City Stories.

Listen to the commercials from the radio.

So this is almost certainly something referencing GTA 6 and the return to Vice City. However that hinges upon if indeed Vice City will be the next setting for GTA.

Cconsidering we've already revisited Liberty and San Andreas...

Then I think it's a possibility.

Although that may not necessarily be the case.

I say that because we do find the Vikings burial ground.

This could symbolizes the death of that idea, and a very real indication that Rockstar is choosing to go in a different direction.

But I was under the impression that a return to Vice City was already confirmed and if so the Viking burial ground could symbolize that we are going to revisit something long since dead.

There may be more to this half but I'm still trying to work that out at the moment.

With that said, I'll eventually get to the other half of it but there's a lot.

In the meantime here's another.

There are a number of references to Red Dead Redemption contained within GTA V. Here's an interesting one that I've never seen anybody put together so far.

GTA V...

There's a street titled Sinners Passage located in Textile City. Here you will find several references to Red Dead Like...

FR4zqTIXIAApnFX?format=jpg&name=large

but most notably this...

FR4zsu7WYAAV55H?format=jpg&name=large

It's called the Sinners mural.

Along its outer edge it says...

For when the Great "Scorer" comes to write against your name he marks not if you won or lost but how you played the game.

RDR1...
The mysterious black hat stranger refers to himself as an accountant while speaking to John Marston.
Well. If you look up the word accountant you will find that they are referred to as "Scorers".

Regarding the Mad preacher.

First I'd like to start off by saying his rantings can be interpreted in a number of ways and this is just my interpretation of it.

You are all more than welcome to believe whatever you choose.

So the Mad preacher does appears to be giving clues about future titles. however it also appears they're doing it in a metaphorical sense, or an innuendo if you prefer.

And not just any metaphor or innuendo because it appears they are directly mocking all the people who like to make videos and predictions about what's coming next from Rockstar.

He repeatedly says things like...

Why is it that you get to make all the decisions, and why is it never what I want.

Then if Arthur Morgan engages with him he says he's really not sure what it is that he wants, or what the clue is. He even asks Arthur if he is the clue.

Almost as if this is a representation of how people say... Bully!!! ?

No GTA!!! ?

Maybe Red Dead?

and so forth and so on and because they get caught up in the semantics of all of that they miss the actual clue they gave.

I could sit here and break down all of it but I'm not going to because it seems to be saying the same thing over and over.

It's why he's upset.

He is in a sense, a representation the people who are so upset that Rockstar won't just give them a straightforward answer and tell them what's coming next.

However it does appear at least in this instance that they did gave a clue to something they were coming out with, only they didn't spell it out directly and the clue was contained other half of this mystery.

It's directly referencing GTA V more specifically GTA online and they did in fact release the content that went along with the clues.

lol GG R*

I have to say, if anyone from Rockstar reads this, I'd like you folks to know that I thought it was quite clever how you tied the real life story of the two families from Louisiana feuding over moonshine with the secret marriage and then linked it back to the gang and they're involvement in that situation.

Seriously it was a brilliant move.

However if this hypothesis regarding what the Mad preacher is a representation of, then I truly tip my hat.
