Story Mode Properties Not Locked To A Single Protagonist

I'm just finishing my first single player replay since 2013 and am trying to remember how I split up the properties that aren't locked to a single protagonist. I played the stock market with every mission possible along the way, and ended up with more than enough money on each character to buy all the properties, before even doing any of the Lester assassination missions.

Here's my rationale for each of the seven properties that can be owned by different protagonists:

  • Los Santos Golf Club - $150,000,000, $264,500 weekly income
    • This one always seemed like it ought to belong to Michael. Between his house being blocks from the course, the other expensive properties he can own, and the lifestyle he leads, it feels his character would be the most interested, despite Trevor being the Canadian under-18 golf champ. Also, with him starting with the most money, earning the most money from all the heists combined, and the Epsilon missions payout, it's probably easiest for most people to afford on Michael too, even after buying all the cinemas.

  • Sonar Collections Dock - $250,000, $23,000 per nuclear waste collected (max 30)
    • This one also felt like a natural fit for Michael with Abigail Mathers' Strangers and Freaks submarine parts missions being tied to Michael.

  • The Hen House - $80,000, $920 weekly income
    • With it being the cheapest business property you can own, being located all the way in Paleto Bay, and being a titty bar, this one seemed like a natural fit for Trevor.

  • Pitchers - $750,000, $7,100 weekly income
    • This is where it started getting hard to justify for me. On one hand I kinda liked the idea of each of the protagonists owning a bar, so this one could go to Franklin as it's located closest to his house and would leave Tequi-la-la for Michael for the same reason. I also liked the idea of Trevor owning all the bars, since Michael owns all the cinemas and Franklin owns most of the vehicle related properties (LS Customs, Towing Impound, and Downtown Cab Co.). If any of them seemed like a natural fit for owning a gay bar, I guess it would be Trevor?

  • Tequi-la-la - $2,000,000, $16,500 weekly income
    • Between the location and the price tag, this one seems like a Michael property. However, if I was going with all the bars on one character, it would be Trevor. Trevor is also the only character who gets to see the inside of the bar before it becomes purchasable, after he attacks Love Fist's bassist and steals his tooth.

  • Car Scrapyard - $275,000, $150 per car destroyed, $5,000 weekly max
    • This one ties into Franklin's vehicle related properties theme really well, but a scrapyard on the edge of town also feels like a very Trevor kind of property.

  • Hookies - $600,000, $4,700 weekly income
    • If not for the Lost MC presence, this supposed meth front located in northern Blane County would be an ideal property for Trevor. Since it's locked to only Michael or Franklin, it's a toss up for me. It's located close to the Sonar Collections Dock, so possible tie-in for Michael, for me. I also started to look at how many business properties each character owned and considered how this last property could help balance out the property management missions.

What I didn't really consider is the weekly income amount. After buying all the theaters, Michael will already be collecting $538,500 per week. Based on that it might make more sense for one of the other protagonists to buy the golf course, but who's really going to play 567 in-game weeks of story mode to earn back the $150M price tag on the golf course anyways.

So what did you end up going with? In before it doesn't matter lol

I tried to balance the number of properties and the incomes a bit. From the top of my head, I gave

Franklin:

  • Golf Club
  • Downtown Cab Co. (Franklin exclusive)
  • LS Customs (Franklin exclusive)
  • Impound lot (Franklin exclusive)
  • Smoke on the water (Franklin exclusive)

Michael:

  • Sonar Collections dock (for the strangers & freaks mission)
  • Hookies (because I couldn't give it to Trevor, and Michael was closest)
  • Doppler Cinema (Michael exclusive)
  • Ten Cent Theater (Michael exclusive)
  • Trivoli Cinema (Michael exclusive)

Trevor:

  • Tequi-la-la (this one seemed logical because Trevor has a mission there)
  • Pitchers
  • The Hen House
  • Car Scrapyard (I thought Trevor was a better fit for this than Franklin)
  • McKenzie Hangar (Trevor exclusive)
