A trivial question, but I'm curious

Back in summer Rockstar made exclusive content available for everyone (for playing on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360), a notification was popping up after Franklin & Lamar mission.

I've started replaying story on PS4 last week and noticed that notification hasn't popped up, but I have the content available (cars from stock car races are free in Online along with Duke O'Death, etc.)

Did they just remove the notification because content is already available for everyone or something? If so, I think they made it during adding ability to upload your saves for transfering to PS5, Xbox Series. Btw, haven't noticed that notification in PS5/Xbox Series version.

It makes sense for them to remove it with the new release. A message saying "welcome back" on last gen would be very confusing.

They done messed up and unlocked all of the content for all players. Taking it away afterward would only result in a massive influx of tickets from angry gamers demanding the items they were given for free be returned.

 

And honestly, the items they released weren't all that special anyway, most of the cars are (and always were) useless in their competitive classes and the other items are of such little value that it's just not worth the effort to reverse course.

The content is more useful in story mode than in Online, extra quests and stuff, you know.
