Keep Old GTA Online And Xbox X/S Versions Simultaneously?

My wife and I play online with the old version (Her on XBox One S, and me on Xbox Series S). I assume if I transfer my guy to the new X/S version, we can no longer play together. Can I create a new character if I download the new game, and keep the old version and my character separate? I actually want to create a character from scratch anyways, I tried on my old version recently, but stopped playing because the in game bank account was still shared with my other character for some stupid reason. Trying to figure out if I should download the new game or not.

As far as I gather, you can create a new character on the new console with the option to migrate later. (at least it has the option on the pause menu for me on PS5 - migrated). Just my looksy.

I had the same issue, i transfered my old PS4 Char to the X/S Version and play the One Version with my Wife. So far no problems at all. (Both Games installed on my Series X)

 

The Bank Account is always shared between the Characters in the same Version.

IMPORTANT: Once your progress has been transferred from PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, your migrated profile will no longer be available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

That should not be the problem since he don't want to transfer his character. Instead he would like to start from scratch in the new version. And in that case he can play his Xbox One and Series S|X Version in parallel with the respectiv character.

I know... I just wanted to quickly give him that warning that it's not like the last transfer.
