DEADWOODZ
No idea on what to make of this to be honest. That being said i've never played Until Dawn or any interest. LittleJesus
Really liked Until Dawn but didn't find the Dark Pictures ones interesting. This one looks more of a sequel/spiritual succesor to UD so hopefully it's good.
trip
This kinda crept up outa nowhere. It was released on the 10th with a demo that let's you play through the prologue. It took all of my will power not to drop the 70 bucks for the full version after the demo time. Rainy day here, so I bet I can't resist and spend the money...even though 70 bucks for a narrative driven game that is mostly QT with a focus on choice paths seems a bit pricey. The price is probably worth it thought...the graphics are crazy good, the acting and voice acting are true, the story feels real and interesting. If you like a nice looking story game to sink into...check out the demo. Worth it. Mister Pink
Looks pretty interesting. I knew I recognized David Arquette's voice from somewhere. Suppose his role is a major nod to the Scream films. Algonquin Assassin
Until Dawn is one of my favourite games and I’m a sucker for slashers/gorefests so this is up my alley. Been eying this for a while so I just got the deluxe edition and started my play through with the 80s VHS filter. For anyone not familiar with this style of game it’s more of an interactive movie than a “game”. trip
Algonquin Assassin
Sorry for the double post, but I just finished my first playthrough. Probably not quite as creepy as I would’ve liked, but since had some tense moments. I will say though this game has some of the best facial animation I’ve seen in a long time. It goes beyond uncanny valley IMO to the point where it feels like I’m watching live action. Compared to Until Dawn I think the writing is better and the characters have more depth than being 1 dimensional cliches. I’m starting a movie mode playthrough in gorefest so I can just sit back and watch all the goriest moments play out. Algonquin Assassin
David Arquette’s character model is probably the best one and the most life like. Having recently just watched the new Scream I swear to God I was really watching him lol. Also the soundtrack in this game is fantastic. Forgot to mention that. TwistOfLime21
Finally got around to finishing The Quarry. Didn’t go the way I had hoped. Abigail was the only survivor, aside from an infected Nick. I had a chance to kill Silas but hesitated for whatever reason which lead to Laura, Travis and Ryan getting killed in all of three seconds. As for the game itself, the graphics were unreal. Some parts didn’t even look like a video game. The story felt a bit too complicated though. The travelling circus aspect didn’t seem necessary. I’m hoping that Supermassive Games have a break from having creatures as the villains. We saw them in Until Dawn, House Of Ashes and now this. This won’t be a game I replay. If I do, it’ll just be chapter ten because that’s where most of the characters ended up dying. Shadowfennekin
The ending was complete ass. Travis was the only character I cared about. The whole thing was Jacob's fault, f*ck him. Emma was a c*nt for purposefully kissing Nick in front of Abigal, it was hard liking the kids. Kaitlin was okay but I suspect I only like her due to the fact Brenda Song voiced her, always enjoyed her work TwistOfLime21
trip
Just finished. I enjoyed it. Yeah, the graphics are kinda worth the playthrough alone. The length was about right too with arcs in the right places. Being a dude in my mid 50s (whatever) the teen angle could get a bit hard on the stomach, but I grew up during the time of camp horror movies so I was able to suffer through still. I'll probably play again. Now that I know how the few people died...I think I can save them. Yeah right - I kid myself...my memory is so shot that when I get around to a second playthrough I'll have no memory of the game. The upcoming The Devil In Me seems to be more supernatural, but I agree we need a break from the creatures. I'd rather something that relies on tension and dread. Those were the best parts of this game IMO. The situations where you're completely alone and not entirely sure what's going to happen.
TwistOfLime21
Just finished a second run through with everyone surviving the night so I’m pretty bloody stoked about that. I think this is the only game I’ve finished then immediately restarted. I didn’t realise on the first play through just how cringey the dialogue is. If you’re going to have a teen cast, have the dialogue relatable to that age range. “Detective Dick Whippet” ”Detective Oat… For Brains” ”Son of a binky bonky” (wtf?) ”You’re a f**ker…” On 7/11/2022 at 12:48 PM, Algonquin Assassin said: The upcoming The Devil In Me seems to be more supernatural, but I agree we need a break from the creatures. Wesk_
finished it 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it. how they made the ending did seem a bit weird and perhaps rushed, especially compared to until dawns ending, i do wish they would have given some characters a bit more screentime/more playtime, felt like i played this character way more and more often than this character who i “barely” played. also the quarry was definitely more on the gore side, while until dawn was more on the “horror” side (i think) Edited July 25 by Wesk_
