Most efficient way to make money

Hey guys, I haven't played gtao since early 2018 and I've forgotten quite a bit.

From what I remember, my efficient strategy to make money in a solo public lobby was:

1. Buy bunker supplies

2. Start fortified

3. Start headhunter

4. Sell solo bunker (at 100k stock I think?)

5. Repeat

I have a coke warehouse and a vehicle warehouse but I don't remember if those was worth the money to include in the rotation.

Can anyone add any suggestions to make my strategy better?

P.S my apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I take it this is just your passive moneymaking method?

Forget VIP work, buy yourself a Kosatka, and do the Cayo perico heist a couple times. No public lobby needed, Invite-Only works too.

Easiest approach is the Drainage Tunnel (don't miss it on the scope, take a boat around the island, behind the compound at the cliffs), and bring one friend on the heist so you can get into the compound storages.

Nowadays it's all about Cayo Perico, Auto Shop and the Agency.

Cayo has a learning curve to it, but once you get it, it's basically ~1.3 mln every 1.5 hours. Forget the "hurr durr must be quick use the same approach 321321423 times" unless you want to burn out after 10 heists. You can do basically any (stealth) approach you want and still make the elite challenge easily with time to spare. You can do it all solo in invite only session.

Auto Shop is basically Import Export 2.0, except you get the vehicles delivered to you and sales are way less annoying. The car can even be destroyed with no penalty if you hate the delivery point. It's not fat stacks of cash but it adds up.

The Agency is a bit of a grind but once you are done with the 200 contracts it's 20k every 48 minutes out of thin air. The missions themselves pay good, so do the payphone hits.

Once you are well situated set yourself up with a Nightclub + CEO + Bunker + 3 biker production for even more passive income. If you sell before 90 crates it's basically 0.5 mln for driving a Speedo around once in a while.

Do the time trials, collect all the random collectibles, see what gives bonuses on any given week.

Bunker and VIP is a waste of time these days. But most importantly, play whatever seems most fun to you. No point in making money if you are going to hate the game afterwards.

There are a lot of collectibles too. I'd recommend starting with all of the USB sticks from the Agency and Tuners. 8 in all and they add playlists/songs to the radio and unlock the Media Player station for use. Then you can listen to them while hunting the other stuff. Black EP and the Dre playlist are insane.

I doubt you haven't played since 2018, but whatever.

The efficient way to make money in GTA Online is grinding out the coyote perico heist. You can do setups in invite only lobbies. You only need to do 4 setups if you want to do a stealthy approach. There's a lot of tutorials online that shows you how to navigate the compound, rob El Rudio and be off the island in around 8 minutes. You can make around 10 million in 4 hours.

Thank you all for your advice! I'll look into the agency, the contracts and also the new heist and collectables. I appreciate it.

Can you elaborate on this? From my memory, doing the bunker and biker productions deliveries took quite a bit of time to deliver all the products and biker production warehouses were prone to getting raided.

The nightclub is basically a cover for the bunker and MC stuff. There's a warehouse in the basement where weapons and MC product will automatically build up over time, so you just need to wait and then deliver them from there with a van

Nightclub basement has 5 slots for other type of business types to hook into. Once you assign a nightclub technician to a certain business type you already own it will start accumulating stuff passively without you having to do a thing. Only condition is that those businesses need to be open and functioning, but they don't have to be producing anything or have anything stored in them. It's a big upfront cost, but if you played up to 2018 you should have most that you need, except for the Nightclub itself.

It will pay for itself over time, the passive income is really good if you plan on playing this game for a bit. If you are on the PS5/XBX then regular Nightlub popularity should also be worth it now (the club is basically 2 businesses at once). Apparently Clubs now pay 50k/48 minutes at max popularity, so that's even more of a reason to get the property - don't even have to do the mission, simply swapping the DJ for another one for 10k will fill half a bar of popularity. One DJ swap at 4.5 bars popularity is basically 90k profit on newest gen.

I do have a bunker and a coke lockup so I can use the nightclub to sell those products, and the popularity income sounds worth it too since I'm playing on ps5. I appreciate your advice, I'll definitely be buying a nightclub tonight. Also an agency.

I do have an unrelated question to passive income. Do you guys recommend buying a car meet membership? What is reputation for?

Car meet reputation just unlocks cosmetics as far as I remember, i.e. clothes that you can buy at the meet, new rims for cars and some liveries. It builds up super slowly though

CEO crate warehouse and hangar serve as the same thing for Nightclub purposes, so you need one of those. You have coke and bunker, so that's 2 slots filled already. Then you need two more biker production places like meth and forgery and you are maxed out on passive income for the Nightclub basement.

The car meet rep is for unlocks - discounts, clothes, liveries. https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Reputation_(LS_Car_Meet)
50k is peanuts in today's GTA economy, you might as well get it.

I don't believe the hangar is linked to the nightclub like the other businesses.

It should be, counting as "Cargo and Shipments" technician slot. That definitely used to be the case, so unless there was some change I don't know about...

GTA Wiki, while not being always the best source of info, says the same, so I'm not being schizophrenic.

Thanks. I never knew the hangar could be used for it.

Are the arena wars cars worth the price tags? I looked them up and see they can be equipped with all kinds of features but Would any of you guys recommend buying them?

It's worth noting that I own the deluxo, Stromberg, nightshark and of course the oppressor and it's mk2 variant along with a few other weaponized cars (batmobile, etc) that came out before arena wars.

They will suck your money like a black hole but if you are a shunt boost master you can have fun with it.

Watch that truck with the mounted flamethrower, it's not that good.

as other people have already adviced you should buy the "kosatka" submarine first (for being able to do the cayo perico heist).

this is by far the best money maker ahead of the nightclub and agency!

(it is more than a million per hour.)

but it seems like you dont want to listen to them and do your own stuff, which is ok though...

you will make your own experiences.

but dont say we havent told you about the kosatka.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! No.

They are fun toys. If Arena War was a fun game mode that people played then the vehicles might be worth it. Hardly anyone plays Arena War and you don't make enough profit off it to justify the price of the vehicles. A fully upgraded Arena War vehicle may cost up to $10m if you haven't unlocked any trade prices. Way too expensive for any vehicle.

That said, I've collected many of them, but that was mostly so I could have a garage full of Mad Max vehicles. I'm sitting on $200m and I felt a big hit to my finances when I bought the vehicles when they were on sale last year.

Another vote here for The Cayo Perico Heist. For those solo players who hate the businesses, like me, Cayo Perico has been a total Godsend.

The Cayo Perico Heist is like city bank, it's just there whenever you need money.

It's a bit boring, and you can tell it was put together during COVID lockdown, but it is a good way to accumulate some money.

The other advantage, for me, is that you get the Kosatka submarine, which is one of Rockstar's better efforts, even if Pavel is annoying af after a while. The Kosatka can store the Sparrow helicopter (very much recommended for doing the set-ups) the Mini-Sub and the Toreador submersible car. It also has the option of calling for a dinghy whenever you want, sonar for treasure hunting and of course, the fun cruise missiles. So it's a no-brainer.

Good advice, I only have 10 Mil at the moment so I was hesitant to make such a large purchase but you bring up some good points regarding the toys along with it and of course the money making ability.

I've never really enjoyed the heists too much either, but maybe this one is different. At the very least I can grind some money out of it then move on to the more fun parts of GTAO.

If you're not a big fan of heists, then I'd recommend not grinding it too much. Do it a few times to learn how to do it then maybe only do it once a week so you don't burn out on it. With other activities that should give you enough money for new DLCs. Especially while Updates are only twice a year.

If you last played in 2018, then yes, it will be different. Forget the old heists that you didn't enjoy. I was only enjoying those if I had 3 friends online and willing to join, but hosting for randoms was a disaster.

It was mostly waiting for people to join, only to have someone screw up in the end and start all over with the waiting game.

The Cayo Perico heist allows you to do the whole heist solo and in stealth mode (although doing it loud is still an option)

You can do the whole thing solo, in Invite-Only sessions (so you won't get bothered during the preps unlike with Doomsday heist)

The only part you may not like is the forced stealth during the scope. Don't do the same route every time or you will get bored of it though.

There is also the Casino heist if you want to mix things up. Can also be prepped solo and in Invite-Only, but the main heist requires 2-4 players, and it's way more prep work than Cayo Perico.

The only part that requires a public session is setting up your arcade for the first time.

I personally got tired of Cayo pretty fast, I think I've done it like twice after it was paying 1.5x like a year ago. I just don't really enjoy any of the process, fly to the island with that slow plane, scope the island, then fly back and forth all over the map to bring stuff to the submarine and then do the heist with the annoying fingerprint minigame 😀 Much prefer doing something like the Auto Shop bank robbery, it's just two quick setups in the city, and then you run in and out of the bank vault and drive off with 300k. Like you can just run past all the cops if you keep spamming snacks https://streamable.com/2fz38x I don't usually grind for money anyway but if I spot the bank contract in the auto shop, I'm always like sure I'll do one of these. Ultimately as other people said, it's better to do stuff that you actually enjoy
