Why are guys so obsessed with ray tracing?

 

I mean give me 1080p 60fps on consoles and on pc from 720p to 1080 unlocked fps anytime, anyday. I mean the consoles can output to 1080p tv when connected with one.

The GTA Series Videos stream was doing 60 fps pretty well inside the LSCM. People get like 15 FPS inside it on PS4 and Xbox One, even PC can get kinda laggy...

GTA V on PS4 was already behind visually. Red Dead Redemption 2, Watch Dogs 2, Far Cry 5, AC games, Infamous Second Son, Tom clancy heartland etc. all of them were superior graphics wise. Actually V looked most imprresive on PS3 if we consider other games with same generation. My most hyped game ever was V and unfortunately V is a abomination due to developed for PS3 and releases at the end of the PS3 generation. PS4 generation games still holds up very well because there are still no new gen game builded ground up for PS5 and uses more realistic theme ( ratchet demons souls and returnal is not focusing visuals with realistic environment) but also PS4 generation games advanced greatly in terms of lighting and texture. V's PS5 version still doesnt have volumetric clouds its pretty sad. The problem is the engine so old you cant change or add very much.

Nobody has mentioned how the character transfer discloses that your previous gen data gets wiped. Saw it on TGG’s stream, unless I misread the R* disclaimer. 
 

Edit: @Shane_Dbns mentioned it first. Seems like that’s the case.

kinda happy gta 5 still looks ps4 lol .

Gta 6 graphics will impress me more now but hopefully raytracing is gonna be better cuz Gta 5 ps5 raytracing is ultra garbage.

Yeah I know, it had been ages since I played on cousin's 2013 Xbone. It was running 25 26 something, don't remember much.

Yeah, my data from PS4 is gone, kinda stupid but it doesn't really matter if you're gonna play on new gen consoles anyway

This is very much something I want to know, maybe they added DirectStorage support to Xbox S and X versions.

 

Meanwhile Ps5 uses dedicated chip and DirectStorage is coming later this year to Windows 10 and 11 on Nvme Ssds so they are going to maybe update pc version later this year.

Nah, AMD CHS and NVIDIA PCSS on PC don't look half as good as the new raytraced shadows.

It seems like it, on social club all my stats are reset and playtime is at 0, it is basically a full reset on old gen.

RT Shadows is the least intensive out of the three in my experience, and the least eyecatching out of the options, but it's still a form of raytracing.

I think death to respawn time is now faster in online - which to me is a welcome update.

Happy for the people who will get to play with smooth 60fps no stutter. Would it be an intensive task for them to add RDR2 clouds in V? The game already has one of the best sunsets in gaming..would've loved to see those RDR2 clouds...

PCSS looks fine. It's not perfect, but beats CHS or constant hardness hands down.

Doubt online is better.

SP in pretty fine on HDD on pc.

So once you transfer, you can't go back to old gen (PS4 in my case) and play with any friends yet to or unable to transfer? 

 

That's a poor choice.

 

Any news on invite only/crew sessions etc. Not seen any hint of those and it's top priority for me.

Plus Fidelity mode is indeed native 4K with ray tracing. I would seriously not be making comparisons with livestreams (other than seeing how it runs or any new features) and wait for proper screenshots. I've had people tell me that Cayo Perico runs perfectly unlike even the PC version.

 

I can see the shadows and AO RT, but you might not notice it in 100% of the scenes yeah.

 

The upgraded cars with Hao's stuff are fast as f*ck tho, not even a stutter lol.
