I keep coming in here hoping to see news about the updates coming to PC. I’m guessing we shouldn’t expect anything until mid-June, after the trial for GTAO on PS5 ends.

 

Really wanted an excuse to play through GTA V. Guess I’ll play through RDR2 again instead.

It's scary to realize how long GTA6 will possibly be milked. Not to mention a possible disappointment with its release too

I'm at a loss for words ... I'm really, really hoping some intern messed up and posted their April fools joke a week too early.

 

And here I thought it couldn't get worse. The Trilogy, the "nExT gEn"-versions, now this?? ... What the hell is going on at Rockstar? What the hell happened to them? Surely these aren't the same people that gave us Bully, GTA IV, San Andreas, Vice City and all the other classics.

 

Think about it. A SUBSCRIPTION FEE. For GTA ONLINE. With "benefits" that no player actually cares about. Just worthless.

You know I can understand when Nintendo did their online subscription deal. Because they think about their local customers first and have always been behind international customer feedback. But this is ridiculous for Rockstar that is quite close to the people making the recent complaints. (And also the fact that Nintendo releases games more often than Rockstar at least).

Being greedy is one thing but outright stupidity? They aren't even discreet about this, someone up top, looked at GTA+ after many recent blunders and thought, "Yeah, this is what the people want now!"

Cars showing in puddles ? It's not shadows as the shadows are on the other side, it's definitely reflection. Nor current PC nor E&E has that ( unless I'm mistaken and they added it in E&E, from what I saw it's not the case ). Did they ever specifically set up such things before when taking screenshots ?   

Or did they leak a new "feature" in this screenshot ( so e&e coming to pc ? lol )  Or raytraced reflections scrapped ( or whatever enhancing what we had right now ) ?

Anybody notice a substantial amount of pop-in on the PS5 version? Especially with flying, it seems worse than the PS4 version.

So here are my honest thoughts.

 

I decided to take the plunge and get GTA V for PS5 since it was only like $15 AUD and GTAO was “free”.

 

On face value I’ll give R* some credit and say the changes do make GTA V feel better to play. After owning a PS5 since launch in 2020 playing anything under 60 fps feels like a steam train chugging along.

 

The use of the haptic feedback/adaptive triggers while subtle are noticeable  The game can also look quite nice too. I favour  performance RT so it’s the best of both worlds with upscaled 4K and 60 fps. That is how I play all of my PS5 games.

 

In saying that that’s as far as it goes. I bought it out of curiosity, but quite simply  it should’ve been a free upgrade path for everyone who ones it on PS4 and XB1. I even feel the Xbox boys got screwed over somewhat since on PS5 it’s priced ok for now anyway until June comes around and it doubles in price. I could stomach $15, but not $60 or whatever it’ll be.

 

All in all it’s not technically bad or anything, but it’s probably the most barebones port I’ve seen this gen and its physics still suck compared to GTA IV (Had to get that one in. It’s been a long

time since I’ve been here. Old times sake).

 

As for GTA+ I don’t think a subscription service is bad, but it sounds like something catered towards new players.

 

It’s still a shameful cash grab though considering how successful GTAO is and I’m glad the community reception towards it has been largely negative, but it probably won’t matter to the corporate R*/Take Two suits sadly.
