Do you need to do all other heists to do the cayo perico?

No, you don't need to have done a single one. You can do Cayo first.

No, you don't have to do the other heists first. You just need 2.2 million up front to buy the Kosatka so you can host it. Do not buy anything else.

Before you ask if you need ... first, no, you don't. Just the Kosatka. And then you register as Securoserv VIP to do the heist.

 

If you don't have Kosatka yet, you can try joining the Cayo Perico heist by quick-job on the phone, you may get lucky and end up with a host who knows what he's doing and just needs an extra pair of hands.

Here's what a host who knows what he's doing looks like:

• Selects Kosatka or Longfin for entry
• Enters the compound at the drainage tunnel
• Takes care of the guards and maintains stealth throughout the mission (optional suicide on detection)
• Basically only brings you to carry extra loot, or because he can not access storages solo. Do not expect a big cut, but you will be successful. Baby steps, we all gotta start somewhere.

And here's how to spot host who doesn't know what he's doing:

• Forgets to buy suppressors
• Brings 4 players, because more is better, right? (not always)
• Has not scoped the drainage tunnel and/or doesn't bring the cutting torch
• Does the heist loud, but without doing the disruption prep, so you get shot to pieces by El Rubio's airforce and heavily armed guards
• Offers generous cuts, but there will be plenty of failures along the way, success or a payday is not guaranteed
